Afternoon All,

Started out with a walk at 67F. I didn't even need a jacket, but it's been raining most of the day. This weekend is generally supposed to be about 10 degrees cooler. After the walk I did some inside chores. Afterwards I "washed" the kit resin parts and after they were dry, I set up a second table in the train room to spread all the parts out. Tomorrow I'm going to Tom's house, another train buddy. I hope the rest of the gang is there also.

Jeff- I'm glad the replacement works correctly.

kjd- It sounds like a story there.

Willie- Nice photos. Thanks for the tip, but I couldn't find them.

Troy- That is hilarious.

TomO- I'm glad you're feeling better.

I hope everyone has a good night.

It has been a while. Haven't had the computer on much and don't know what my password is to log in on the phone.

The left shoulder is coming along quite well after replacement surgery. Movement is very good but depending on which direction I move the arm, there is still a lot of weakness but in time it will come back. I have more or less quit physical therapy as I have already gone through it all with the right shoulder. The therapist was quite suprised at how well I was coming along.

I got back from Scottsdale, AZ and the Barrett Jackson auction they had last week. Sold off a few more cars. Having moved to Libby, I don't have any place to keep much. My '59 Impala is at th Chevy dealer near the old place. They put it out on the showroom floor from time to time. Worked out with them to keep it in a climate controlled area. Came close to buying a couple but was able to control myself. If I were to try to acquire another car, it would not be a new one. Totally gave up on them. Too expensive. They are the worst investment a person can make as they lose at least 10% of their value, if not more, as soon as you drive them off the lot. I would love to find a BMW, not a new one, but a Bavaria around 1970 to 1973. I bought one when I was home ported in Italy and brought it back to the states. Had so sell it when I moved back to Montana from Florida as there were no BMW dealers in the state. That's when BMW and Mercedes still made quality cars, not like the high tech junk they sell now.

I guess I have stayed away from the forum because I am still in withdrawal from tearing down my layout which I worked on for over 30 years. I ddid accomplish something with it though. Made a plan on what kind of layout I wanted and over time built it and it operated the way that I wanted. Still brings tears to my eyes. Turned the computer on for the first time in a month and like a jerk, I went through some of the layout photos.

Terry - Buffalo Industries I believe sold some cleaning supplies.

Joe - I did miss seeing your photos when I wasn't visiting the forum. My uncles were always talking about the rules, working hours and were usually whining about being on call.

Curt - I am going to have to go back into previous months and see how your new layout is coming along.

Willie - Looking forward to seeing more of your layout photos.

Christian - Love that photo of the diner. Didn't have any like that out here, but did look for them when I was on the east side as you could always get a great meal there.

ctclibby - Better see if Troy can spare some of that Makers Mark. A little John Wayne therapy can't hurt. I jhave some Pendleton and Devils cut over here.

Guess I'll make myself sad and post a few photos from the archives.

Nice to see your back, and that your recovering well from surgery, Your layout, even though it is no longer, you can take comfort that your hard work is very much appreciated by others like myself, and has shown, with patience, how much can be achieved.
Thank You.

Good Afternoon All. What a difference a day or two has made. From sleet and below freezing temperatures, to an absolutely lovely afternoon on the SFW estate. It's 52°, sun is shining brightly and there is no wind. I've been outside for the last 90 minutes just doing stuff in the sunshine in a tee shirt and of course jeans. I only came in to get hydrated and return a phone call from Chet. I was going to bring you up to date, but I see that he posted and did it himself. I'm going back out and I will split some wood for 30 minutes or so before heading over to the train shed. Wife has left for Dallas until Wednesday morning, so I am home alone with no vehicle until then.

Your layout pics bring a smile to my face, your should be proud of them.

Afternoon all,

Another late afternoon as it seems. 103 hours for 2 weeks, 23 hours of ot for the pay period. Finally got the oil changed in the truck after 3 weeks...

I'll say I am starting to tired, but we're not done with everything, just hopefully the long hours. This weekend should be quiet, but meetings on Monday and Tuesday.

Have a good night.

Well, howdy <yawn> people.

It's troy again. Been up since 1:30. Fell back asleep around 4:30 and drug myself awake around 6:30

Need to word some words today. The last two days were spent dealing with the book of faces. I murphied my author page. Somehow I managed to get myself, the only profile on it, demoted off of Admin status. I became a moderator.

Screen Shot 2023-02-04 at 7.16.12 AM.png

Two days of tech support routine (have you tried this? or this...?)
Then I send in screen shots... nope I don't have access to that.
Yesterday, I finally had to prove it was me. That the author name (a pen name) was part of my sole proprietorship, despite not having a technical business entity in that name (that was fun)...

Now I'm back in control. And yes, I made a new profile, and made it an admin on the page. Just in case. I'll never touch that profile unless I need to.

Back to wording... got a lawyer to introduce to the sleuth today... He'll make Saul look like an excellent barrister.

Good morning Crew. Flo, I need please, the largest vessel you have! Fill with 1/2 ice and then Diet Dr Pepper poured in. I finally this morning have my taste buds back. No cough drops yet this morning. I feel 1000% better than yesterday at this time. Around noon yesterday it was like the blanket hanging over me was removed. Instant it seemed improvement.

I stopped the pedialyte, but was temped to add whiskey as was recommended. I switched to Gatorade G2 watching my blood glucose numbers and around 3 I felt hydrated again and no more dry mouth. Just better over all. We did not do the Friday dinner out as is normal for us. I did and maybe studity go on campus with Terry to the Badger Women hockey game and joined 14430 other fans to watch them choke in a 0-1 loss. Just a terrible performance that will keep me biting my tongue when we have dinner Monday night with my friend and his wife. I believe the attendance is the 3rd highest attended game in Women’s Hockey. The Badger Ladies now hold the top 8 of 10 record attendance. Every couple years or so they have a game at the Kohl Center next door to their arena on campus. The fans showed, the team did not. I don’t think I will tempt fate by going to today’s game even though I feel pretty good right now.

Thanks for all the well wishes and thoughts. Much appreciated

Hopefully the getting better trend continues. I need to get back to the weathering bench. Tuesday I re-open officially for weathering jobs. I have 2 of 3 tank cars to finish and mail off. Thought they would be done last Tuesday but life got in the way… While I only have a 1 car project starting Tuesday some of my clients have promised to send cars in. It’s not a job just something I enjoy.

February is the opening of Spring Training for MLB. Terry thought we might enjoy seeing the Cubs, White Sox and Brewers. My brothers place is not to far away from the 3 camps so before we fly over to Maui we might spend time in Arizona if we can get game tickets. The brother did not rent his house this year to any baseball executives and maybe able to get us tickets. I understand the Cub tickets are always sell outs.

The cold spell for Wisconsin is over. High today 37 and it is 12 now. Enjoy the day

Morning model rr fans! 38 degrees going up to a 72 high - the guessers say - with lots of sunshine!
Howdy there , FLO - I;ll have the big cup today - thank you?

On the news last evening - it was reported that the temperature was recorded at MINUS 106; now, that is too cold for even the heartiest of you "thick blooded" people.
The recording place was Mount Washington, NH, FYI - the first spousal unit and I rode the COG RR up mt washington back in 1967 -- she called it the JOG RR due to the rack and pinion gear that was used as it vibrated something terrible and we could not stop shaking for a while after dislodging out butts from the wooden seats.

Later gator!

Good Morning All. Mostly clear and 35° this morning. Upper 50's today, mid-60's tomorrow and Monday. It sure felt great seeing the sun yesterday for the first time in almost a week. Springlike weather for the rest of the ten day forecast.
For some reason, everything that I had planned for yesterday got done!:) The delayed grocery trek went as well as expected, it was a bit more crowded than my usual Thursday trip, but at least the stuff that I went after was in stock. Prices seem to have stabilized a bit; some things have gone up by a few cents here and there. I didn't look at eggs since I didn't need them. Gasoline around town was up about a nickel a gallon, but many places were temporarily out due to deliveries being late from the ice storm. Later I split some wood and got the indoor planting of Spinach, Lettuce, Parsley, Cilantro and Arugula planted. Some of the seed was leftover from 2020, so that is iffy. Just to be sure, I planted 3-4 seeds per pot and will thin if necessary. I cleaned some ashes/embers out of the wood-burning heater, and also spread the previous cleaning on the garden. Wood Ashes contain significant quantities of Potassium and Calcium which are essential to good growing soil. Yesterday's embers will burn out in a couple of days.

I didn't spend a lot of time out in the train shed yesterday due to the lovely weather that I had. Probably the same again today. While there, I continued on my normally fruitless quest to clean, arrange and generally organize everything under the layout. I know that some folks like to run trains continuously while working in the layout room, so I tried that again yesterday. Naw! It just doesn't appeal to me. I did have the Ipod playing like I normally do while out there, and rocked out to mostly 60's and 70's music, and relived some of the many concerts that I had attended. Moody Blues and Electric Light Orchestra stood out yesterday.
Here's a few more pictures of the layout at the Texas Northern Model Railroad Club layout two weeks ago.

Chet -
Haven't had the computer on much and don't know what my password is to log in on the phone.
I just can't use the phone for surfing the web.
Curt - One can never tell what you might find on hoseeker.org. I have found instructions for some stuff that I wasn't expecting. It's too bad that your car wasn't there and you now have to wait.
Tom O - So good to read that you're feeling better. I also hate being sick.

Alice Cooper is 75 years old today, Rosa Parks would have been 110.
Everybody have a great Saturday.
