I’ve got a great idea for a new layout – it’s the Lake Powell & Missabe Railroad. The premise is this: the tailings from the coal mines in Arizona are taken to Minnesota to fill in the open pits left after the iron ore mining there. In turn, the iron waste product is hauled from MN to AZ to fill in THEIR open pits. Now this is where it gets good. The layout starts in my train room. It punches through the exterior wall, crosses two back yards and enters my neighbor’s house, and into HIS train room. The lead locomotives are fitted with cameras, and each of us has a CCTV feed to the other’s control panel. Our ‘radio’ communications will be via Wi-Fi. What do you think?
How do ya get that tunnel to your neighbors layout? Open trench? I'm sure the neighbors in between will be thrilled.

Hi global modelers. The day is going to be in the mid 40’s in So. Central Wisconsin. Hopefully some visible melting will occur.

Willie, welcome back. Nice of the parish to come out in force to recognize a person they must have liked. My wife got a surprise inheritance from a spinster uncle who no one in the family knew he had money. All Microsoft and Apple stocks. Gave it to the girls only in the family and only to those females who would talk to him at family gatherings. Terry’s sister was furious especially when another of the females told her how much each the lucky group got. She insisted Terry share it with her. That didn’t happen and the same after their dad passend away a few years after that. Sister didn’t feel the inheritance split from dad was proper. 2 years in court and the sister ending up being told to pay terry’s attorney fees.

I hope to see the train room today

Ok, Most schools are already closed for tomorrow and McConnel AFB is on essential personnel only. This is what we're looking at overnight and into tomorrow:

I'm in the 6-10"+ range. We don't know how to really handle that much snow, but it may be gone by the end of next week.

Drink much?

In other news, the general manager where I work (the former owner) was summarily fired today.
This, in spite of the fact he had negotiated a contract for at least one year, and up to five years, and had that contract drawn up by his attorney.
The new company took exactly 60 days to renege on the contract.

It was a signed contract? They must be pretty confident he abrogated it if the contract was actually consummated.

After all the guitar posts, I figgered I better post something about little trains so I dont get "run off" from here. Last week I was digging thru my flat car box and found this 4 truck flat. I found something in my shop that would be appropriate for it. It needs some couplers & wheels and I'll get it chained to the deck eventually. What is it? It's the main generator shaft for the new nuclear plant that Gates & Buffet are building in Wyoming.

I am in So. Central Wisconsin which is much more populated then North Central Wisconsin where we moved from in 2014. 6” of snow here is a hindrance. Up north it’s more then a dusting but after it stops it is usually fine UNLESS the winds are blowing. 12” in either area of Wisconsin is a hazard but still drivable if you go slower. Both places are great at removing the white stuff.

Patrick, just slow down even if you have great tires. If not stay home it’s not worth it if you aren’t used to it and your area isn’t. It’s usually not you but the other guy!

I knew Gates was investing, I was unaware of Warren. Both are smart men and don’t generally don’t waste their money. What do they know that eludes us?
