Dave - I am not a guitar player, but I am awestruck that you are able to recognize what song that George is playing just by looking at the chord fingering!

I am not a guitar player (we simple minded people play Bass -- only one note at a time). But some songs have "unique" chords or chord voicings in them (which is often what makes the song memorable from a musical standpoint) and a good player will be able to look at what voicing you're playing and if it is one of those rare or special ones then you have a good guess at the tune.

Not a skill I have.

Good morning all,

right now +17, warmest morning we have had in a few days. Gonna warm up a little then the deep freeze,

Luckily, we did not get any snow out of those systems that blasted the east.

Someone had a thread a while back about the different types of flex track, here is a comparison of Walthers wood tie 36" nickle silver and Atlas 36" flex I purchased from a local hobby store a few years ago, not sure if it is nickle silver

On right Atlas code 100 on left Walthers code 100 wood ties. Small pin holes along tie plates in the Walthers, larger center tie hole in Atlas.

Have a great day, Dave LASM

Good morning Everybody!

Betting on sports, a good way to ruin what should be a fun time watching sports.

Baltimore sports fans can really get under my skin. The Ravens lost 17 players to season ending injuries. Of the 17, 7 were starters and 3 were Pro bowl players! They somehow finished the season 8-9 having lost 6 close games by one score or less, several on the last play of the game. Five of those games with the Ravens starting undrafted quarterbacks.
Not to mention 4 starting defensive backs that had never played a full season in the NFL, two DBs had never started a game. In a league geared to the passing game!
Why can't people see the truth? Do they like to whine and complain? Keep in mind I'm not talking about politics.
I have learned not to feel sorry for any professional team losing players and games. All NFL teams lose players over the year. The Packers had 2 All Pro player miss 17 games each. They still won till they didn’t in the playoffs. Next player up and if the management team hasn’t done their job you have a losing season .

Is the Walthers flex the New in 2021 brand of track or the prior to 2021 track made for Walthers by Shinorra (spelling) who closed up shop rather quickly on 2020 but not Covid related.

GEORGE - Absolutely love your caboose ! How about a side and a 3/4 view?

LEE - Great looking RS-3! Did that start life as a two, or three rail?

WILLIE - We missed you - glad your trip was safe! Mini scenes today are GREAT! Love the man in the "manhole".

TROY - I was mugged on Sunday! If you need more cookies - I'll send you a couple boxes.

LOUIS - I could absolutely quote you with my feelings and thoughts about my Spousal Unit too!
SHE is my blessing!

Well, howdy there internet people, and those who like to smell wet paint in the coffee shop.

It's Troy again.

this is the week, we should be on the cruise. But, you know, staying home to take care of family. We'll catch a later cruise.

Like all of our past winter cruises, a snowstorm is set to wallop the homestead.

Weather guessers are blaming their computer models for their dire warnings. Here' what is supposed to move in on Wednesday (darn groundhog, it's his fault!). And yes, I'm in the 10-12" band.

Then on Thursday, we get Groundhog's revenge, part two!

Good thing I've got minis to paint, train stuff to work on... oh, that means I have to shovel a path to the garage where the saws are.

I'll probably be painting miniatures instead. Or just collapse in the Lay-z-boy and eat girl scout cookies. I wonder if I can find one to mug me again before all the snow hits? That's gonna be a lot to shovel, and all I have to do is a path to the garage, a path to the gate so the delivery drivers can bring my stuff up to the porch.
Troy, have a great day. This is for u!

Good Morning all,

Wife convinced me to try Orange Theory gym with her yesterday. Not bad as exercise programs go. She signed up for the 3-sessions per week, I signed up for 2-sessions per week. Pretty good workout and my legs are feeling it today.

Probably not much train work today, though thanks to all for the likes on my pictures of the extension. Today I give blood at my local VFW again. They convinced me to try the "Power Red" donation this time. Not entirely sure what that means, but the vampires like me as I am O positive. Well, that's about it today, no funny anecdotes or interesting happenstances,

Blessings to all! Steve J
I had a crazy friend/coworker in Central Wisconsin ho is a all year round legal hunter/ fishing/ trapper person. He would go once a month to the blood blank get paid and use it for his sports.

Chad, I had a 50/50 chance on that guess and I figgered George was a Hendrix fan since he is younger than me ;)

Now that my 3D caboose project is done, I still have 2 more months before I can safely go outside without freezing to death. I need another project that doesn't create too much saw dust.
George
Well, George... if you're any good with a teeny tiny brush and a magnifying glass, have I got a project for you!

I got two boxes in for this game. One French, one British. Over 1,000 soldiers in each set.

They are a whopping 14mm tall from foot to eye, so bigger than N-scale!

Let me know if you want to get some painting in. I'd pay shipping both ways!

Hi global modelers. The day is going to be in the mid 40’s in So. Central Wisconsin. Hopefully some visible melting will occur.

Willie, welcome back. Nice of the parish to come out in force to recognize a person they must have liked. My wife got a surprise inheritance from a spinster uncle who no one in the family knew he had money. All Microsoft and Apple stocks. Gave it to the girls only in the family and only to those females who would talk to him at family gatherings. Terry’s sister was furious especially when another of the females told her how much each the lucky group got. She insisted Terry share it with her. That didn’t happen and the same after their dad passend away a few years after that. Sister didn’t feel the inheritance split from dad was proper. 2 years in court and the sister ending up being told to pay terry’s attorney fees.

I hope to see the train room today

Yes our band played a lot of Jimi Hendrix songs in 1968/69. I can still actually paly those. Our band was called The Touch that a USMC friend came up with. I'll get back into playing soon. I said, this in another post. I thought the band years were the best years of my life.

We're all pretty amicable in our family. No contesting is expected. What surprised us was the overall amount. However that can change from day to day since the executor (another brother), cannot freeze the ETF's and other stocks until we get the damn death certificate. Besides bring frugal, he was never married or had children, lived at home with Mom and Dad his whole life and never had a mortgage payment. He was rewarded when Dad passed away with that house as well as 1/6 of the $$$; since he took care of both of them before they went to eternal life.
I have a clause in my will stating that whoever contests this will shall have no distribution from it.
I like that clause.

I never found my huge bundle of shrink wrap, though I had found a few small bundles of large diameter shrink wrap that I had bought a long time before that. But it was too large a diameter. I finally found one more older bundle of a narrower sort and was able to get going on the guitar update.

I decided to not add the "boost" circuit to this guitar (due to some new stuff coming which the wife was not happy with) but did getthe Lace Alumitones installed and tested. (A "Deathbucer" on the bridge and a "Humbucker" on the neck. The difference between them being in their electrical specs).

The guitar is just a cheap Ibanez GIO low end starter guitar I bought like 8 years ago when my daughter was 6 and starting her lessons. She wanted me to sit in with her for comfort so I thought, hey, "free guitar lesson" and got this for $130 at Guitar Center on a sale. Eventually she was comfortable with her lessons and I no longer sat in and I stopped learning and forgot everything I had learned. She continued and has grown into a full size from her short scale guitars and so now uses this one.

She is a much better player and I like to fiddle so added the Alumitones. Her previous short scale guitar also had Alumitones (and the boost circuit she would never use). Trying to bring up her newest guitar to the same level (minus the boost circuit).

I bought my first Gibson SG in 1967 for $180.00. I gave it to my cousin in 1973 when he started his own band. The SG I own now was $1,200.00.
