Good Morning All Clear and 64°, the warm spell continues with mid-80's later today and tomorrow. A/C's are on standby! Forecast still calls for a cold front just after sunset on Sunday. But it's only supposed to last two days.
Not sure if there are any firm plans for today other than the usual after holiday cleanup. Not enough laundry or dishes to warrant running either machine right now, although maybe the dishwasher tonight. I'll sort through the booty and take any RR related items out to the train shed, not as many this year as most. Partly due to my wife not gifting me anything since I bought 10 new ScaleTrains diesels this fall. I did buy her some expensive water-colors that haven't been delivered yet. She had balked about buying them for herself due to the cost, so I bought them without telling her. Most of my gifts yesterday were just items that I suggested. We are at the point that if we want/need anything, we just buy it ourselves.
No time out in the train shed yesterday, but here is an update on the two projects that I worked on this past Wednesday.
Remember that I decided to fabricate my own coping for the missing one on the Walter's Commissary building.
Then I had to match the paint, I picked Polly S Earth Red that I still have.
Sure is close so I am going with it. I'll probably find the old one today!
I opened up, inspected and placed the last car of my "Ten Days of Christmas" project on the rails. It's another bulkhead flatcar from Atlas, lettered for a close to home short line AOK.
Can't decide what type of load, if any, I will make for this one. The TTX one from last week will be getting a pipe load which I am already gathering materials for.
I am sure that I will run trains for part of the day today and break-in some of the new cars. Yes, I know that this flatcar is actually #11, but I have decided not to actively use the Coca Cola tanker. My NIB shelf now has less than 2 dozen cars on it, at least 7 require re-numbering. And now that the Commissary structure is ready, I will advance with the detailing (minor if any) and adding figures
Mike - Regarding your daughter's sleeping in late yesterday. Started happening when we were kids around age 13-14, and it happened with our kids around the same age. It just seems to lose it's allure at a certain age. Enjoy the silence! You deserve it.

Willie- Thanks for sharing your talented wife's card with us. Any guesses as to how many people you have on your layout?
I have approximately 1300 currently on the layout, most hand-painted including over 150 that
Chet sent me. My stash has almost 800 more ready and 250 left to be painted. I have places in mind for many of them. I also have an unknown number of both painted and unpainted Chinese figures to work on. I love using figures on a layout, I feel that it really brings things to life.
David (Marlin) - I'm not sure if it was a Cure 81 Ham or not, the label is long gone. It was spiral cut though, so it was the real thing. I think that it was. We tossed the glaze packet though.
I always thought that it was just me having trouble with Walther's decals. I guess not!
Heavy metalist Lars Ulrich, drummer for Metallica, is 62 today.
Everybody have a great Boxing Day if you're from one of the Commonwealth countries, otherwise have a great Friday.
