Strangely, the best Outback Steakhouse that I've been to was in Changwon, South Korea, which is the city we used to stay at when we had work at Chinhae Naval Base. The one in San Diego was way too salty.
probably because it was cat dog and guinea pig lol I could see it being easier for them to send the meat to South Korea over the us but I may be wrong who knows

That would be a great job to have. I used to ferry aircraft a short hop of 40 miles or so to the radio shop to have navigation and radio equipment re-certified on occasion for my flight school. It didn't happen very often, but it was free loggable flight time when I got to do it.
I met a young kid when I was a missionary in Germany so long ago that was a pilot and had had a job ferrying customized aircraft from the final fitting out location to the customer. (He was a missionary as well so he was flying in the U.S.). He had a ton of hours before he was 20.

I later ran into him several years later at a university bookstore in Utah. He was an airline pilot and had flown troops into and out of Saudi Arabia for Desert Storm. He said they didn’t even get off the plane in Saudi. Troops got off, they were brought food and the plane was refueled and they would fly to Germany where they were done for the day.

Hughie, I have a pair of Bachmann DCC Onboard engines that do the same thing. There is no direct replacement for the factory decoders, at least for mine, and Bachmann didn’t have/wouldn’t sell me replacements. I ended up putting them in my parts drawer on the off chance I end up with another Bachmann engine with a good decoder and bad shell.
Are these decoders soldered as part of an internal board or are they soldered to an internal board (easier to trace the leads). Cut the leads and wire in a decoder.

These are the sorts of problems I take as a challenge. I’m not letting the b@st@rds beat me.

Sitting in a Tonkatsu place at Haneda airport. Just finished lunch. (Tonkatsu are the panko breaded pork cutlets). They start boarding in a hair under two hours.

You're a funny guy.
There is no room inside the shell for any kind of aftermarket decoder, much less adding a second decoder that wouldn't fit even if there weren't another decoder in there .

It’s not that I like them, it’s the “once bitten, twice shy” thing with NCE.
Given what you went through, who could fault you? That was downright low. If I had known about it, I never would have bought my NCE system. But take that with a grain of salt. The simple, basic Bachmann DCC system meets my “Mickey Mouse” needs perfectly.

If I were smart, I’d sell my NCE setup since I doubt, I’ll ever use it as I originally planned. But I like it too much, and you never know, I might end up using it as intended. Besides, making the financially smart choice when it comes to my trains isn’t really how I operate.
That being said, I am the maniac that put DCC into 2 dual motored Bachmann 44 tonners and made it work!
Many people weigh the time and effort against the end results, but few are true fanatics, well done!

Personally, i would just buy a replacement.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those who understand 🐂💩 when they hear it.

It's Troy again...

In the 🐂💩 line up, let me suggest the following informative vid. I went down a rabbit trail on audio gear this morning. Started with the history of Yamaha to the guy who wore a 🐂💩 button on the back of his tie, and would flip it over when he felt the need to point it out.

The brand is interesting to me because I got to photograph the wedding of Fred's son back in the early 2000s when Fred still owned the company. I had a nice set of RF speakers from that gig. Sold them off when we moved to Los Angeles, and kept only my small RB speakers.

On a side note, Paul W. was born in the same town I was, Elkhart Indiana.

In MRR news, I worked on the upper deck's layout yesterday. I have most of it figured out. Now I need to add a couple more braces in the bench work.

The seams between the foam sheets don't line up on joists. And I want some more stability on those foam seams. But I needed to know where turnouts would go to avoid those. Now I can cut the supports and install them before I glue the foam to the joists.

Good morning, Everyone!

Rough day yesterday, but I made it through, thank God.

To try her best to make me feel better this morning my little Angel treated me to a homemade sugar-free apple pie! It was so good right out of the oven and piping hot.

I know she loves me, but even on my most delusional days, I can see I’m no longer the trophy husband I once was. Lately, I feel more like a burden than anything else. Yet she still spoils me and manages to look amazing while doing it. I didn’t earn this or really deserve it; I’m simply blessed and grateful for the Grace of God.

Have an enjoyable day Everyone!
