Good Morning All!
33F @ 79% with ~3" white on the ground. Guessers say a rain/snow mix through Friday. Some daytime temps in the 40F range so white probably not be around for long.

Guess that I am pointed to burning my 1st gusset. Fired up the T7500 yesterday to do updates and such. Welp, battery has died which is ok as I have a few. Machine needs cleaned out, heat goop removed and reapplied on all the big stuff, so off to do that when it gets light in a few.

Getting more used to FreeCad and its idiosyncrasies and started playing with LightBurn. Too many apps and not enough time.

Dishwasher is calling too - seems to be leaking near the bottom somewhere, so pull it and see what I can see. Just looking at the inside, can not see where it would leak but the bit of water on the floor tells me it is. Have cleaned out the drain and filter system which seems to work for a couple of washes, but I want bullet proof. We switched from a generic soap pill back to Cascade and all the crap in the filter system seems to flush with the water for the most part. We were using another brand that works better than Cascade before the generic pill, but can't find that anymore in CostCo.

Has been 3 weeks of ..um.. normal for me Glucose levels, so contacted the heart doc and told her. She is now admitting that the blood thinner they made me take *probably* caused the higher levels which nobody has heard of. I have also found out the 'pill counters' at the VA don't know how to count. Usually not under-filled, but over. Leaves me with extra pills that pile up which makes me have to order at different times. PITA, will talk to my doc and see if we can get them aligned for ordering every 90 days and I will throw away any extras just to KISS.

All of you with joint pain - try keeping over hydrated all the time. Worked for me. Rvosatin ( sp? ) does not seem to bug me, unless I get dehydrated; hip ache is my early warning light; then Gator Aid multiple times for a day. It is faster than water getting you back to normal; if there is such a thing as normal.

I suspect that Maria is gonna want to go to the real world for some shopping. We finally realized that going to the Rosauers monopoly store is not what we want to do; ACE is pretty much the same here too. Both probably 25% higher than stores in more populated areas. Ya, if only one or two items are needed, bite that bullet. Else, off to Bonners Ferry ( 45 minutes ) or ..gasp... Kalispell ( 90 minutes ). Keep trying to go to Spokane ( 2.5 hours ) and Maria says 'You need a train fix?'. Ya, that and my not so local LHS is there ( 3 of them now ).

Good morning all!

Kind of a cloudy overcast morning out there. It is above freezing with temps at 34F. Might see 40F today. As Michael eluded, temps
will be up and down for a couple of days but if the geeks are right it may get to 60F on Christmas.

Not sure whats on the agenda for today. Wife is off now till the 1st of the year and my daughter is off school, so full house for the next
couple of weeks.

Hopefully Hallmark movies will get me plenty of train time over the next few days. Im guessing wife and daughter will start binge watching
this weekend.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good morning from Wisconsin. A late 8:05 get up for me as I couldn’t sleep and ended up online sitting in my cave chair. That’s where Terry found me at 8:05 sleeping under a blanket.

This morning is additional clean up duties! The house is almost always spotless but the guest suite is getting cleaned again. No Romba this morning but me and the Shark will be in there after Terry “dusts” away any non-existent dust that was already cleaned earlier this week. A small 3’ table top tree not used for 5 Christmas has been pulled from the not being used portion of my storage racks. Tree lighting before I get picked up for the 2 hour ride to the OPS session this afternoon. The room is being dusted and adjusted right now. You’d think the son and g/f had never been here before!

The brother texted last night. Asked if we have room if him and the g/f decide last minute to show up? Replied, 5 bedroom house, yes we can squeeze you into one of the 3 bedrooms that are not going to be used! I asked Terry if we are extra cleaning one of those rooms this morning? The answer was, no but if he’s coming we’ll do it then. In my weekly car to my sister the other day, she will not travel this Xmas as I was double checking.

Grocery shopping pissed the wife off yesterday. The place was crazy busy and the Tenderloin on sale the other day was even less. She and the meat counter manager had a discussion and we have more tenderloin which while Terry’s favorite beef is not mine. She asked that they cut it up for her even though it was on sale. Usually they won’t even if you buy those 10# chunks! But with a 40# buy this week the manager decided it was ok. The Christmas Eve dinner with friends and family menu has been changed with beef tenderloin now part of it. I’ll still have my shrimp!

Be well

Yuengling Traditional Lager is one of the best beers made in the USA. Established in 1829, Yuengling is the oldest operating brewing company in the United States, and largest wholly American-owned brewery in the United States. And now I want one!
Here ya go 😊
It's been my go to beer for the last 3 decades 👍 🙂

Morning all,

Currently 43° and mostly cloudy, high later of 51° with high winds expected again. High temps expected to rise over the week with a new record temp on Christmas. Current record is 68°. Expected temp keeps rising as we get closer as I'm now seeing a high of 78° expected. Average high is about 45° for this time of year.

Family Christmas is happening today as the kids are having Christmas with their in-laws this year. Some will come over for dinner on Thursday, but gifts and festivities today. Having spaghetti with salad and garlic bread. Sauce with meatballs in crockpots, just adding the pasta closer to time, salad is prepped aa is the garlic toast.

Everyone have a great Saturday.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with BBQ

It's Troy again.

Yep, stopped at CityBBQ for Lunch. They're a regional chain and pretty darn good. Was happy when one opened here in the Fort. Noticed they had Diet Dr. Pepper, so I told wife to get me that instead of iced tea... she was one off. I took a sip and said "This tastes like root beer..." So I drank that, then went back for a refill, and the Diet Dr P was very week... so I went back to iced tea.

the good news is that because it was the store's anniversary, FREE apple cobbler. And not a little portion. It was a big bowl that we shared, and still brought half of it home.

The reason we ventured out was a trip to Michael's crafts for a frame and some foamcore board. Total of $27-ish after coupons to get my gaming map framed.

Mixed blessing there! It's an expensive hobby!

Someone has to do it!

Ordered a pack of Atlas rail joiners today from Iron Planet. I need to fix the yard lead for my hidden staging 3-track yard. When I installed this I ran out of rail joiners and had to use some crappy seconds I de-soldered off of some old track.

It's in a bad spot to work on and some new joiners before soldering should fix it right up.

I was in the shop yesterday loading stuff to go live this Sunday. I was doing my research on the Hi-Standard Model G-O Olympic, 22 short, and found out it's pretty rare.

This model was only made 1949-1950, with a total production of 1,250. This one dates right at the end of 1949.
It has a unique "crescent" shaped magazine. Later models all had regular straight walled magazines. Some came with both the 4.5" and 6.5" barrels. This was shipped with the 4.5" only. It has the box and paperwork. Written on the end label is the date & price the original original paid for it.
It's mint. My gut says $1500-$2000 by auction close, but we will see.

I also received a text after I had left that they purchased a couple more firearms for me to list. An unissued 03A3, a possilbly unissued Enfield and another LNIB Browning BDA 380. These early Browning BDA 380's were made for Browning by Beretta.

When my kids were growing up, every so often my wife and I would discuss the budget and finances at the dinner table as a way to teach them responsible budgeting and financing. My oldest daughter once remarked that she thought it amusing that I actually budgeted for beer and knew what the yearly total was! At the time, mid-90's, it was ~$1300/year

Mine is about half of that.
