I was more speaking about mph vs km/h with the Brits and Continentals and Asians.
Because the US rail infrastructure will not support those speeds with any sort of a safety margin. In other words, our trackwork here in the States is crapola.
If you ever rode a German (or Austrian, or Swiss) train you'd swear it was running on glass rails. That's how smooth it is.

Well, that would be great if everyone using the train to get somewhere was only going from Boston to DC. I'd love to see that speedy service from Chicago to New Orleans, or New York to LA.

Anyway felt good enough to work yesterday, which was good, but wow, when I got home I was wiped.
Better this morning after sleeping late. Gotta run a couple of errands later and thankfully the temps are back into the 40s today and sunny. You guys have a good day.

Good morning - High and damp. As Todd mentioned they have been lowering the level of the holding dam that was threatening Libby, but there is still a boil water warning for those of us on city water. 48 degrees here.
Willie - Those small parts and smaller holes that the parts go into are one of the reasons that I didn't want to undertake another layout. The eyeballs ain't what they used to be. All of the talk about snow the other day makes me glad that plowing "is no my yob" anymore. This is a photo taken many years ago. Bu the time I finally got the driveway cleared, the snow pile on the other side of the lane was the size of a semi trailer. Had to plow out the end of the driveway first so I had somewhere to put the snow that was on the driveway.
I was fortunate that when I bought my Riviera that it came with studded winter tires mounted on rims. At my age, I don't need to go anywhere if the roads are bad.
Karl -You, Willie and myself should start a group, the Geratol for Lunch Bunch. Feel bad for you having the problems you do at your age.

I heard that Ford will no longer be manufacturing the Ford Lightning truck. Seems that they, and many other manufacturers jumped in feet first and found out that many people aren't interested in EV's. Don't feel sorry for any of them. I am a car fanatic and keep up on car blogs and it looks like most new cars are junk. The manufacturers are more interested in the stockholders that the people that buy the garbage that they're trying to sell.

I just spoke with Bar Mills about the missing parts. They had tracking on them this time. They sat in Indianapolis for 12 freakin days.
They are scheduled to be delivered to me on Thursday.
They are also in the process of finalizing the design, style, production engineering, etc for a 2-stall engine house. No release date, but it is going to happen.

Good afternoon, all! The day started at 46 degrees but is currently 60. The sun is in and out, rain showers forecasted for the next 2 days. Long range outlook is saying 80 on Christmas.
I too had a doctor appointment today. 120 over 75 not bad. I have been on Ozempic for the last 6 months and I'm not sure it had the desired effect. I gained 10 lbs. and my glucose readings ranged 134 to 180. So, we're upping the dosage. Sciatic and hamstring issues remain to be worked out.
I tried to fix the eBay address issue but was unsuccessful in changing the address that shows as the Registration address. I'll have to wait and see if I order something again will it use the shipping address.
As to trains, mostly just running a few that don't see the track to often.

Afternoon all,
Wife's operation went fine. Almost had to go to the office this afternoon, but they worked it out before I got to where I could get there.
Last of the garden for this year:
Love those White Carrots!
Actually I only knew there were 3 but as I pulled one I felt another. Not supposed to be harvested until frost\freeze. They ought to be good for Christmas. I found if I water harvest them, (run a water hose into the dirt beside them), they come out easier and intact.
Todd: Happy Birthday and stay safe in the flooding. Been involved in one once, which is why I live near the top of the rise.
Chet: Stay safe as well.
Supposed to be above normal with highs in the mid to upper 50's. Nice for this time of year. Currently 53° and sunny with not a lot of wind.

I had issues with that one too. Not as severe as with the Atorvastatin, but I am choosing to trade quality of life against the higher cholesterol risk.
