That's it, I'm now finished entering all my locos onto JMRI 😅 I never realised I had so many, I need to thin them out, there's no way I can run 80 locos

I've also got some queries about speed matching with JMRI, but that can wait till after the holidays.

In other news, I tried running the 5-car articulated Intermodel train today, and nope, it's not having it, they're fine on 90% of the track but on the last section of the curve they consistently derail, weirdly the new Genisis SD90 MAC does the same, but not the Scaletrains GE ES44 wth!!!!!!!
What's really bugging me is that the curve on the other end of the layout has no such problems, and that end is about 4" narrower than my problem curve. 🤔 :(

Try putting some weight in the containers and see if that helps. The Athearn well cars are fairly light,

TomO, maybe you should see about borrowing one of these.

Check out image #4 🤣
I didn’t know they sold an H0 version. They’ve had an N scale one that I’ve eyed for a long time. But I don’t have anything from that era nor space to the track needed and right now there are higher priorities.

they run an N scale store under a different name and I’ve ordered several times from them so they are GTG as a company.

Up at 2 am for a pee run, another zinc and yet another cup of throat coat tea and honey.

I feel fine except for my throat. I'll test for the Coof later in the day. If positive, it'll be a Christmas weekend watching holiday movies in the basement. It may be that anyway.

The Grinch (Jim Carrey)
Muppets Xmas story (Where Michael Caine ignores the fact that his co-stars are puppets, and plays it as straight as possible)
A Christmas Story (You'll shoot your eye out)
Maybe Elf
Maybe Ernest Saves Xmas
Probably some Rankin-bass animations.
Muppets Christmas Carol is amongst my favorite Christmas movies. Enjoy.

Louis - No store around here has stopped supplying bags, but most now offer paper to those of us who like to recycle. I use them to start fires in the wood-burning stove; then the ashes go into the compost pile or directly on the garden. Good source of potassium for the plants.
"Reduce, Reuse or Recycle" I'd say you have a "green" solution, well done!

I'm going to miss those plastic bags. They come in handy for numerous things, picking up dog waste for example. I can't say I disagree with banning them. People throw just about anything and everything out of their cars. Not to mention careless people who don't recycle or reuse them. I see those plastic bags blowing around in nearly every neighborhood.

nice :)
For all Kato shinkansens the minimum -passing- rad is 315mm ( sorry i am from the UK but dropped imperial long ago so forgive me :D)
However they -work- on as low as the 249mm (not tried below that, as it is the tightest before getting into "pocket line compact"), but they have no problem with that curve at a slow speed (would not want to try at a high speed because i love them too much), but if you have poles, tunnel portals or a double track then you have to add the difference to the spacing.
I think i read somewhere that the Tomix shinkansens are ok at 282mm for passing though (but don't take my word for it)
Most of mine are KATO. They’re easier to DCC. Though I do have a few Tomix — a JR West N700, a 700 Railstar, and the Hello Kitty 500.

315mm is about 12.5”.

I did read somewhere that real life radius for a 1:1 Shinkansen is like 4km or something which is like 82.5 ft at scale… if I did the math right.

Afternoon All,

Started out the day at 57F and currently 75F. No chores today so I spent about 3 hours in the train room working on the braking setup. Not my finest work but both cars are done.

I have had 2 detail part orders that I received an email that they were delivered (USPS) and my son has had 1 but none of the 3 have showed up. This has been in the last couple of days.
Pizza- I have been losing my taste for pizza for a while. Not sure why. I know, I'm a heretic!:D I prefer thin crust.

David- That is beyond amazing. He is obviously a craftsman.

Tom- That's a shame.

Willie- Nice scenes. I hope your granddaughter is better for Christmas.

Alan- Nice looking brass cars.

Christian- Welcome back.

I hope everyone has a good night.

This may be not in the true Napolitano sense…maybe even heretical
But I make pizza with no tomato sauce…

The dough…then a drizzle of maple syrup…some chopped green pepper, Spanish onion, bacon, chunks of pineapple and a little Monterey Jack cheese sprinkled on top..

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those Home Alone with $20 for groceries... ;)

It's Troy again... Wife said she was going to watch the movie kid take on the two burglars and be amazed at how much $20 could buy in groceries back then.

Got my e-paperwork filled out for HMRC! Wondering if I should fake a British Accent while I await the verdict. I only had to provide three documents to the commission, swear I'd stand for God Save the King, and only call Chelsea Buns by their modern name (not by that city that got firebombed back in the 1940s...)

The local N-Scale club has an Ops day coming up in Jan on one of our normal gaming Saturdays. Think I'll attend if they have a spare consist and controller. Looks like they'll be setting everything up on Friday in a church basement, and operating all day Sat. Could be fun.

As for the virus, still feel good. Though this evening, the nose has begun its drainage bit. I was hoping to get back into the bed, but if the sinuses keep doing what they're doing, it will be another recliner night to keep the drainage going in the right direction.

As for Xmas eve, we normall make or get a pizza. Out in LA, we had a Shakeys Pizza (mmmmm.... I do miss Shakeys). Now that we're back in the land of no Shakey's pizza, we turn to frozen pizza on Xmas eve.

After hitting the deep dish leftovers tonight, wife said NO pizza tomorrow night. With the weather being decent tomorrow (high of 50sih F-degrees), it'll be brats on the grill and Mac-n-Cheese for lunch, then either popcorn or Beef and noodles for dinner. Followed by The Muppets' Christmas Carrol on the telly, and Tiki drinks in the beverage dept.

Evening all,

Spent the day with the family. Christmas is kind of over for this year. Typing this on a new fire tablet. My old one bit the dust, but it was10 years old.

Funny, but this machine, tied to the kids Amazon account recommended a cozy mystery, "Oh Say can you Fudge" by a Nancy Fudge. I do know her by another name...she's my little sister.

Everyone doing ok...

Have a good evening.

Pizza Not for me thank you. I do like Italian food, but a pizza is not to my liking.
Don't like pizza? Maybe it's because you Brits like Goat's Head Soup and Eel eye pie.;)

I agree wholeheartedly! My thoughts on deep dish pizza are expertly summed up here, though I do believe Chicago hot dogs are the best.
I wholeheartedly agree with John! New York style pizza for me. I have also been accepting of "white" pizzas, which has a bed of parmesan sauce instead of Marinara.
A also agree with his choice of hot dogs, mainly mustard and onion on an all beef bun length hotdog. Occasionally with Vidalia onion relish.
Louis, gotta have a Polock Johnnies again soon!
The 3D printed goodies arrived today, gonna start on them next week. They are getting their alcohol bath right now to get the oils out of them.

Good evening.

Merry Christmas eve, eve to everyone!

The wife, daughter and I took a very foggy ride down to the Rotary Park tonight to see the festival of lights. We haven't been there in several years and was really surprised how big it has grown over the years. After we got done, we went through Steak and Shake for shakes and mini fries. Had a really nice time with just the 3 of us before family activities start tomorrow night.

Have a great night!

I'm glad to hear you are feeling good, I hope you can soon return to your bed to sleep.

For my Hungarian wife Christmas Eve is the traditional big meal for the holiday. Christmas day is buffet style.

She began making Toltott Kaposzta (Hungarian Stuffed Cabbage) early this afternoon for Christmas Eve. It will slowly cook for more than twenty-four hours. All our kids love it! It smells fantastic cooking. It's made with things I love, cabbage, ground pork and sauerkraut, but I don't like it. It's the bay leaves, I don't like the flavor of bay leaves and they don't agree with me. I'll be eating hotdogs! 😁
