Last year I got a notice from Rocket that said "Oh by the way you were $$1300 short in your escrow account. We paid the difference for you so you can either cut us a check or add $xxx to your mortgage payment for the coming year." I cut the check. This year I have a surplus of $1,800 and change. Go figure! 🤷‍♂️ Who does this math?
Most mortgage company escrow accounts require 14 months of reserves, based on one twelfth of your annual taxes and HO insurance premium. I elected to hold my own escrow, based on a 12 month reserves, and it's cheaper.

Good afternoon, all! An overcast day here, and somewhat cool when in the shadows. The wife is busy making mincemeat cookies. She is using a sugar substitute, and half the mincemeat dosage to keep the sugar down. My mother-in-law knew I liked them and would make me a special batch every Christmas till she passed.
My Classic Metal cars arrived. I placed most of them in areas close to the front or edge.
This what the scene looks like now,

I love the scene

Just got a sample of the mincemeat cookie. Very good, but different from years past. After some discussion, it's the mincemeat. Since we're only making a small batch, the smallest container of mincemeat we could find was an imported brand from England. A different taste and texture from what we normally have used. Not to worry, they will all get eaten.

I figure by the time I get this place paid off, we'll need $1000 a month just for the monthly equivalent of the annual payments. I can currently rent a Senior apartment in town for $800.
I know what you mean. We paid our house off in 2019. We have to put money every month in a special account the wife set up for when the taxman comes calling.

It's not as bad as the mortgage payment was, but it still feels like one!

Up at 2 am for a pee run, another zinc and yet another cup of throat coat tea and honey.

I feel fine except for my throat. I'll test for the Coof later in the day. If positive, it'll be a Christmas weekend watching holiday movies in the basement. It may be that anyway.

The Grinch (Jim Carrey)
Muppets Xmas story (Where Michael Caine ignores the fact that his co-stars are puppets, and plays it as straight as possible)
A Christmas Story (You'll shoot your eye out)
Maybe Elf
Maybe Ernest Saves Xmas
Probably some Rankin-bass animations.

Well (cough) Howdy there internet peeps and those without ailments

(Waves from far corner booth in the shop)

It's Troy again... and the results are in! I set a crack shot marksman to watch over my test this morning...

Unfortunately, he shot his eye ... er... glasses off. So I used my good eye and spy no positive. It's been over 24 hours since the symptoms started. But I'll test again this evening to make sure.

Wife had a similar result last month with her sore throat.

Laundry day today, and a bunch of listening to audio books, getting paperwork (online) done to be able to pay the VAT tax to the EU ffrom my store. And I need to fill out a form for the UK to do the same... Silly Brexit... Though, right now it's a formality. The UK actually doesn't charge VAT on ebooks or print books. Actually a smart idea. Let the subjects be well-read, and such! We can't all get our Dickens exposure from the Muppets.

Troy, something to maybe take your mind off your non-coof...
We all think our voices sound horrible, and sound strange to us, but normal to other people.
Many of your regular readers may pay extra for a "special" book read by the author.
If you read the book yourself, your fans may buy it because you read it.
You don't have to pay a third party to read it, and you may sell a few more audio copies if you read one yourself.
Since you're now in charge of your marketing, maybe you could conduct a poll of your readers, and see if they'd pay more for an "author read" book.

Good morning gang!

Yes Troy, I see you over there, keep yourself over there, no sense infecting the rest of us!

I took the wife back over to the Urologist yesterday for more scans and meds. It has slightly moved, but its still there. Now they have the nausea under control she has been drinking water like a fish, and today she is going to try to eat oatmeal for breakfast, her 1st real solid food since the 16th.

I did place an order for some 3D printed goodies. A 53 Chevy, a 58 Fury, a set of items that include a mobile home, a pickup, a car on jacks, another under a cover, several dogs, a stack of tires, a preggo woman in shorts and a fat guy on a lawn mower. Also coming with that is a Beverly hillbillies set like Willie's. They should (according to USPS) be there Saturday.

Work today is a half day for me (since I worked last Saturday) and at noon is the company holiday luncheon, usually catered by a local place with awesome food. Then a hair cut then home. I'll be laying track by 3. !!

I like this idea! After all, who best to portray the characters better then the brain that hatched them!
