Morning -- Not going to say that it is a good one!
I lost a cousin a few days ago and her funeral will be held today.
I was planning on going, however, I was not looking forward to making the trip alone (due to my health concerns) and MOH decided that she would go as well even though she has been suffering with an extremely bad cold and cough not wanting me to go alone!
Yesterday morning she decided that she needed to medicate for her cough - went to the UC and came out with 9 prescriptions and pneumonia as an outcome ... very contagious she was told.

Now back to my cousin ... Jeanette was three years my junior and her father died in a truck accident when she was around 8-YO and her mother had a disastrous stroke which left her unable to care for herself about the time that she was graduating from HS.

Despite of all this, Jeanette plodded along ....
Jeanette graduated from LSUS with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, and Masters plus in Computer Science. She retired from Louisiana Technical College in Natchitoches,...

Forgive me, but I just wanted to acknowledge what the human spirit can accomplish when we apply ourselves.

The range tody is expected to be 46-66 f degrees - temps lately have been all over the place!

Thanks for listening to my "whining"

Sherrel, you’re not whining. Tribute to someone special is not a whine.

Take care of yourself and the wife

So sorry for your loss.

That was a beautiful tribute! Thanks for sharing.

Minor house update. The drywall company had a bum-load of wallboard delivered. They're supposed to start Friday with the garage (so we can use it to store stuff to get it out of the way for doing the rest of the house).

This past Monday the framers came and frame in the enclosed patio "sun room". They've since added the rim board to the roof fascia area but I don't have a pic.

We temporarily are setting up the kitchen cabinet boxes as the countertop people are coming Friday to measure so they cna do the install in a few weeks. We'll move the boxes out of the way into the garage for them to hang the drywall after they measure. In the pic the really tall cabinet is not in position as they can just measure from the end of the normal boxes. On the other end we still have to put in the dishwasher "cabinmet". I have some parts for it but need to figure out how it works. Its basically a simple frame to support the countertop. Not an actual box as the dishwasher just slides in.

Today I need to ruip a bunch of OSB into 7" or 8" wide strips so that the sheetrock guys can use it to fur out our window frames. Our windows are insert windows with these clips that stick in towards the room and it needs to be furred out so that the drywall can go on it smoothly. The sheetrock guys said they can nail the furring pieces in but we need to cut the strips and they'll cut them to length as needed.

ALso need to cut some real plywood to slightly lower the main garage door opening so that a normal 18' 2" door fits and its only 8' high instead of 8' 2" or whatever it is now.

And a lot of last little things to get ready for drywall. A couple places where the foam bulged a little when we had blowouts with the concrete. And places we've foamed channels that still need to be trimmed. And a couple electrical boxes where network or thermostat wire comes out of the foam. Small things. And I'm using left over foam sheets to add insulation in the bedroom framed walls to try and cut down on sound -- to quiet the bedrooms. Need to finish that.

No rest for the weary.

Almost afternoon all,

Been busy since I walked in the door.

Currently 56° with a wind advisory through this evening. 66° later. Though nobody recognized my temps in Kelvin, so back to Fahrenheit.

Louis: I love Lindsey Stirling's music. Here's another for you.

I tried to make Alligator for dinner last night, but only had a Croc pot.

Good morning, Everybody!

I love this song! I could not find the version I have been hearing on the radio. I thought you guys would like this video.
Enjoy the Holidays!
The one that one hears the most on radio is by Mannheim Steamroller and Trans Siberian Orchestra.

Well two of the five are done. The City of San Francisco car is a 4-4-2 sleeper. The expensive seats. I still need two of these to complete the train, and they're very hard to find, and not cheap when you find them! The second car is a 12 duplex-5 double bedroom sleeper. The cheap seats. this car was originally a "City of" car as well. I have a model of it in that livery. This model is of the car in later years after it had been sold by Pullman to the SP, de-skirted, and repainted into two tone gray livery. The only thing lacking at this point is the grab irons. the 12-5 didn't come with any. That happens with secondhand brass sometimes! They were shipped in a small bag for attachment after painting which makes masking a breeze. I have to make some, but at least I have the set for the other car. Both are identical so I can make a jig and bend them up pretty quickly! diaphragms on both cars are Coach Yard. Expensive but very good looking and functional. Also durable, which the American Limited and Hi Tech details are NOT!

I am currently awaiting interiors for two of the diners and adapting Branchline trucks to the third diner. Mating the Branchline trucks to the Precision Scale Chassis is proving...interesting!
