Willie, I did see several color pics online. Ellie Mae's blouse seemed to change a bit, but Jethro always seemed to have a printed shirt. The "kids" always in jeans but granny and Jed seemed to not change much

Sherrel - Now that that damn wreath is up, wife wants to put the tree up earlier than my usual 12-15 date. What a can of worms I opened. And the wreath bangs and rattles against the glass panel in the door every time I go in or out.
Willie- I hope you did not wear yourself out putting up that wreath.
My wife has some serious back problems, so I have had to help out more than usual.
I am still trying to get lights and other outdoor decorations placed without her personal direction.

We had the younger granddaughter, Julia visiting us on Monday. After she went home, Dawn said, "Her last baby had gone. No longer do we watch Children's ITV or Children's BBC. The grandchildren want to watch or 'do their own thing'.

The Last Time

From the moment you hold your baby in your arms,
you will never be the same.
You might long for the person you were before,
When you have freedom and time,
And nothing in particular to worry about.

You will know tiredness like you never knew it before,
And days will run into days that are exactly the same,
Full of feeding and burping,
Nappy changes and crying,
Whining and fighting,

Naps or a lack of naps,
It might seem like a never-ending cycle.
But don’t forget …
There is a last time for everything.

There will come a time when you will feed
your baby for the very last time.
They will fall asleep on you after a long day
And it will be the last time you ever hold your sleeping child.

One day you will carry them on your hip then set them down,
And never pick them up that way again.
You will scrub their hair in the bath one night
And from that day on they will want to bathe alone.

They will hold your hand to cross the road,
Then never reach for it again.
They will creep into your room at midnight for cuddles,
And it will be the last night you ever wake to this.
One afternoon you will sing “the wheels on the bus”
and do all the actions,
Then never sing them that song again.

They will kiss you goodbye at the school gate,
The next day they will ask to walk to the gate alone.
You will read a final bedtime story and wipe your last dirty face.
They will run to you with arms raised for the very last time.

The thing is, you won’t even know it’s the last time
Until there are no more times.
And even then, it will take you a while to realise.
So while you are living in these times,
remember there are only so many of them
and when they are gone, your heart will yearn for just one more day of them.....

One Last Time …....................

Afternoon All,

Started out the day at 58F. Tomorrow it's supposed to be 47F. After some morning chores we went to Sam's Club and spent too much money. After getting home I cut out detail parts 4 each of sledgehammers, jack screws, and crowbars. I also sprayed them with a light gray rattle can so the detail paint will stick better. I glued the 2 false floors down and with a Tamiya black (don't remember the #) that when dry looks oily.

Willie- I admit I'm guilty of that but I do whine about the cold when it shows up to balance the equation.:D

Jim- It looks like they're only doing 4 episodes this time around.

David- Happy Birthday to your grandson. The poem is very poignant and every parent with older kids or adults as kids understands the sentiment.

Karl- Great photo. You did very well for the money spent.

Terry- I sent that to my daughter.

Smudge- Nice video.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Great news, to bad SWMBO canceled Acorn! ow many episodes do they do a year? I yearn for Badgers Drift.
Badgers Drift, the murder capital of MidSomer. ;)
The Samsung Network, on proprietary "Smart TVs" runs a MidSommer Murder channel on # 1137. It's a relatively tight loop of a mix of the most popular episodes. Every now and then they include a rare one, or one I never saw.
WLIW PBS on the Island, runs one each Saturday @ 8 PM. The Stanford CT PBS channel runs one each week during the week. What's a subscription to Acorn cost? What else do they offer?

Good afternoon. I'm ready to venture out and refill the bird feeder. The year round tenants of my evergreen tree are complaining!
Did a few chores this morning, heading for the trainroom soon.

PFD Ladder in 1960s.jpg

Classic photo from the Late 1950s or Early 1960s, in Philadelphia, PA. Photographer unknown. Apparently a multiple alarm fire. The Ladder Truck was from Truck Co. 21 (or 22), and was an International Tractor pulling a ancient trailer with a wooden Main ladder. All visible hose is 2½". The era of Hip Boots (long Canvas Turnouts not visible on this warm day), and Tin Helmets. The officer, in the left center is Commissioner George Hink. Check out the shoes on the guy in street clothes to the right. The Truck...according to comments Philadelphia changed to calling Aerials "Ladder" from Truck around 1964, probably dated back to the Horse Drawn era, surviving not only the "Team", but several motorized tractors...a common practice once, back in more "primitive" times.

Speaking of "Primitive" a photo taken at Birmingham Union Station in the early 1960s.
B&O Pullman Loch Doon.png

From an E-Bay Duplicate Slide solicitation, the Heavily modernized B&O 10s-2c-1DR Heavyweight Pullman "Loch Doon". Possibly a Brunswick, GA - Birmingham AL set out on the Southern - Frisco Kansas City - Florida Special, which still had a section sleeper assigned in 1962, prompting an article in Trains Magazine by David P. Morgan. Note the Southern Office car in the center, and a pair of Central of Georgia E-7s in the background.

Our now 10 year old grandson is starting to break my heart. Thinks he can do the little back talking and get away with his smart alecky comments. Let him have it yesterday when he said he doesn’t “need or want” to come over to our house. I know I’ll get over it but I let him know my thoughts yesterday. Thought his mom was about to have a heart attack…

Not in the same words, but 'been there'. Then they realise. Now they do not want to go home.
