Good Morning All!
27F @ 80% and snowing

Drat the luck, both of my favorite teams lost in ONE game. Dallas was head until just before the half, then it was back and forth until the end. Most of Seattle's players are pretty new and you could see that watching. They are getting better. No punts the whole game. Willie, you are close - I thought I heard that it was 5 games without punts. In any event, was a pretty good game, pretty close for the whole nine yards. Think that it was/is the first game I have watched in the last 2 years from start to finish.

Pellet stove stuff today, one is acting up and need to throw some technology at it to figure out the why part. Starts, runs but have a lazy fire. Yes, it is clean. The two snap disks show resistance as they should so I will put T-Taps on them and monitor with DMM. We will see.

Life is fun!

Question for y'all. Has anyone ever purchased a mystery box from Rapido in the past?

I thought I knew better than to drink and browse the web at the same time, but I did it again.🥴 It looks like I will be receiving a DCC/Sound equipped loco and a piece of rolling stock, a Christmas ornament for the tree ,possibly a glass RAPIDO tumbler or metal water flask, and a chocolate bar. Now supposedly Canadians will get Canadian prototype stuff. and US residents will get US prototype stuff, but other than that it's a crap shoot.

I'll report back once it arrives

and

No more booze near the puter!!

Good morning folks. Hopefully I will not step on anyone's toes here. I'm still in the process of collecting all my modeling tools back up into one place and getting a work bench set up after my quarter century hiatus from model trains. Yesterday I disassembled the Unimat SL and used brake cleaner to get what once sufficed as bearing grease cleaned off and repacked the bearings with Milwaukee Type F grease. Runs great again. I'm going to do the same with the drill press today.

Grizzled: Welcome back to the hobby!

Good evening all. Cleared the paths of snow, then put salt down. Cleared the snow from the car in case I need it tomorrow. The forecast is more snow to fall.
Younger granddaughter is staying overnight, so Mushroom Pasta and Garlic Bread is for dinner.

Sometimes you know trains are there, but scenery is in the way to take a proper photograph.

Good morning, all. The sun is trying to force its way through some dense clouds. We received 2.75 inches of rain yesterday, making the yards very soggy. Today's agenda is to Christmas shopping and maybe a little train time.

Willie - Trim looks good.
Sherrel - Don't wait too long. Get looked at
Bill - You must have a heck of a railroad photo album.
Grizzled - Welcome to the dinner.
Terry - It would appear if it weren't for bad luck, you'd have not luck at all.
Troy - Hope the wife feels better.

The hobo sitting on Santa's lap. (not really, AI at it again)

I run Euro passenger wagons as well as Shinkansen and longer car EMU on smaller radius (Largest radius with Unitrack in N without mixing or using the large radius 15 deg pieces, ie only using 30 or 45 deg pieces, is 13" I think, or maybe 15"). Not the most realistic but for many of these realistic would require much greater radius than we can do in models...
I suspect I'll be cheating the radii in some sections and dropping down to 15" or smaller to make the scenes work better.

But with the "racetrack" around the edges I want as normal of a look as I can manage.

Now I'm trying to figure out how to make it a dual-height figure-8 loop so it can go around twice.

New day- New problem! MRI did show a Spot/Mass/Tumor on my liver. Doctor set me up with additional medical folks ... in the meantime ... I woke up with a pretty healthy dose of blood in the urine this AM, so that is an add-on I was not expecting.
Sorry to read this...it sounds serious...the new wrinkle this morning can also be serious...I really don't know how the food chain works with these symptoms, so I would start with the primary. Especially the way your plan works.
The urine is Urology, Not sure which specialty handles liver...
1. Don't panic 2 Don't sit on it either...Urgent care is more centered toward less serious issues, they may just ship you to the hospital...which is another can of worms.
Take care of yourself as best you can.

Good Afternoon All,

Started out the day with a walk in a pleasant 62F morning. After some chores I browsed the new monthly additions (online at home) of the county library and ordered several books for home delivery. If I'm reading it has to be a real book (not on a screen). I did some more thinking about the project and placed an order from Tichy for 2 jib cranes (only using the chain hoists, sledgehammers, crow bars, and screw jacks.

Bill- Interesting pictures.

Troy- I hope your wife feels better. The stew looks very good. I assume you are modeling N scale?

Karl- Receiving coal is good if you have a coal-based layout! Good luck with the box.

Willie- Excellent job on the window frames.

Mikey- It sounds like you did very well.

Sherrel- I am seriously worried about you. A liver specialist is a Hepatologist. With the new blood in the urine, I think that warrants a trip to the ER. A Doc in a Box will just refer you. I expect you will be talking to an Oncologist also. You are in my prayers buddy.

Grizzled- Welcome. I was out of the hobby for more than 20 years, but once in your blood...

I hope everyone has a good day.

started painting the windows on the tenement apartment building.
Willie: Your hand is very steady, the door / windows look good. Also the color is appropriate with the building sides.

I purchased all 23 Jordan vehicle kits which will keep me out of hobby shops for months. My total expenditure exceeded my cash but I'll be mailing a check to him today.
Great score Mikey. Jordan kits take a lot of effort, but are very nice additions. it's also great that you have a LHS that is close by, with a co-operative owner. That's something lacking around my way.

December is upon us, and the year is slipping away. I have one more outdoor task to complete before winter. I still have the gutters to clean. Looks like tomorrow is my window of opportunity. Looks like rain on Sunday.

Mike: You are so right. My gutter guy should be calling soon. The gutters are loaded with leaves. I'm not as dexterous as I once was, so no climbing on the roof for me.

Among lingering tasks, is to balance the check book...found two typos, but those corrections only made it worse. Have to go back two statements to find the issue. Second problem is that wife came home with a check engin light on, Have to hook up the code reader and go from there.

Karl: I was tempted by the Rapido Mystery Box, but I decided not to gamble. The wife bought one from one of her craft outlets last year, and it was scraps of material...perfectly worthless. Hope your experience is better.

I would probably call my primary doctor. The Urgent Care places, at least around here, seem to be only geared toward collecting your insurance deductible, and dispensing some vague advice.
Not a problem: Kaiser maintains their own UCF at each medical facility ... primary doc will get a note from UC doc and if problem requires additional - will notify for appointment, or whatever.

Further to my missing Bowser Guard rails, finally got the tracking info from them earlier this week, seems it's another non-delivered delivery by the esteemed Royal Mail, their tracking say's it was delivered on the 12th Oct, but if so where could it be, I know I didn't receive it in my mailbox.

So, being my day off I trek down to the delivery depot, to see what happened (and collect my new GE ET 44AC, see the RPO).
After explaining that I hadn't received it and also explaining the unknown speed of the 17minute delivery time from the depot to my house, the gentleman checked and low and behold, it was not delivered :) Happy days.

OK, can I have my package please, errrrr no, you can't was the reply, ????????? Why not ?, well, it's been returned to the sender because it's been over here over 14 days ???? but, but, but, how, you didn't deliver it, I didn't know you had it till earlier this week when I got the tracking number that said it had been delivered, no card from Royal Mail to say you had it, so what am I supposed to do now ?

"Contact the seller and ask them to send it back to you when they receive it" was the reply, so now Bowser will probably want another $20 to post it back to the UK. I'll send them an email and see what they say.:(

Afternoon all,

Doing some Christmas shopping on the way back home. Burial went quick, predug hole made the difference.

Got 3 calls from work, one irritated me mostly, because a vendor can't seem to get decent help that can read or write the password down. Keep telling my users that the password doesn't work nor can they connect to our system. Read the fricken notes...

Bbl, wife's haircut almost done.

Sorry guys - I will try and make it maybe more clear, but I appreciate the concerns - really!
The Vascular Doc who repaired the aneurysms gives me a CT scan every 12-16 months (as I seem to be prone for them) and he picked up on the liver mass/spot which he asked for an MRI to get a better look. He called me two days back with appointments to see an Oncologist and a Hepatologist for December 18th.
I cannot remember if a Urologist was included - need to check the computer and see.
I am extremely fortunate to have KAISER - they are really on top of things and IF I go to UC with anything serious - they will ship me immediately to ER or hospital.
UC facilities with Kaiser are likened to a small ER; the Primary Doc is sort of last in line like for post recovery and followup.

With the blood in urine is Dec 18 too far away? Not a medical professional so I don't know (but I'm married to a cardiac RN and work for Stryker in their Vocera division so am surrounded by medical)

There have been six NFL games since the merger (AFL-NFL) in 1970 with no punts by either team.

1992 Bills vs. 49ers
2004 Colts vs the Chiefs
2014 Bears vs Packers
2014 Saints vs Packers
2021 Eagles vs Chiefs
2023 Cowboys vs Seahawks

Of these teams only the Chiefs went on to win the Superbowl. In a
