Thermostat controls....🤣

From October to March it's set at 55° F when guest come over I will bump it up to 65° F and run the fire place to balance out if need be. If the weather is single digits or less I will leave it at 60° F and run the fire place for sure. I do not like it too warm in my house as it makes to hot for me as I am a bit of a polar bear. I have no one else in my establishment but my 2 Lions, Wyatt and Doc. (22lb cats)

Spring time April to June no heat no AC just natural weather. Summer June thru September AC set at 76° F to keep any humidity out. I run fans in my master bedroom to keep airflow going as I cannot sleep without a fan running.

Dave - Right now I have about 6 inches of snow on the ground but the rains we had recently washed out about 4 inches. Last Friday we had between 10 and 12 inches. This storm may produce snow but it looks like just ice, sleet and high winds.

Quick reminder:

Please remember to add your location to your post If you're writing about weather details, especially since the purple area is pretty large this time...

Thermostat: 68 winter 74 summer. No debate, no questions. We agree 100%.

Weather: I don't pay any attention to the predictors of doom. I'll believe it when I see it.

Burnig through cash, that's how it goes these days. Not much lasts and nothing is cheap. Add Christmas to the mix and my bank account is shrinking. Thank God I have enough!

Baltimore is in the blue ;) as it usually is! :D

Afternoon All,

Started out with a walk this morning but 2 hours later than normal. The grey sky was brighter. I've decided after Christmas I'm going to redo the entrance curve into the diesel storage tracks. It will involve moving a turnout about 2 inches and redoing the 2 departing tracks. Luckily, it's easy to get to and doesn't affect the scenery much.

Saturday is supposed to be the coldest day in Central FL in 40 years: Low 29F High 46F, Sunday is Low 33F High 47F, Monday Low 39F High 55F.

Joe- Great photo.

Smudge- Neat video.

Jaz- Cool scene.

Lee- Great photos and catch.

Willie- Your progress looks good.

Sherrel- I'm sorry I didn't realize Goneaway was you. It's great to have you back. I hope your health is good also.

Troy- Great looking figures.

Hughie- Nice progress on the build.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Currently back to having no degrees, and the sun is now shining just east of DooDah. Still plenty windy and the snow is just dry enough to make quick work with the snow disappearing machine. 18" drift in front of the garage doors, and partly clear on the short side (north side). As a gues we had a couple of inches.

Currently warming back up as it was colder than I usually clear the snow at. At least it wasn't the wet stuff that clogs the blower. I have an electric start on the machine and pre start the machine before it's needed. I have enough trouble starting the lawnmower when it's warm outside.

Lee - Good to see you back in the Coffee Shop, and glad that you're still healthy. I have missed your trucking related scenes all across the forum.
Thanks Willie. Glad to be back actually my health is getting better I’m getting more exercise working at the Feedstore/ Mill. I’m not stressed anymore now since I’ve quit my Truck Driving job of 25 years. I drove Tractor and Trailers for 33 years and I care less if I drive another one. Sorry but the Rail Fanning in St. Louis is over for me I worked as a City driver for the last 3 years. I will post some pics now and then I took there over the years if I think there not repeats. Maybe I’ll get lucky and catch the loco trains goes through my hometown.

AND Thank you for that LOUIS! Seriously, I have really missed everyone here also!
Yesterday, I managed to spend almost three hours "fussing" with this MAC. I love it - although it is driving me to the nut house even faster than I was headed before. I still have nt taken the time to LEARN even the basics.

Things are breaking here at the homestead about as fast as the spouse and I can keep up with the replacements.
New water heater last week - As it sits on a pedestal in the corner of the garage - I just no longer have the energy and muscle to move to - so, my "building buddy" next door (who is going downhill faster than I am with many problems) knew of a plumber who came and replaced. - It was the best $300 I have spent - a little over 2 hours and he was done.

The Spousal Unit had her MAC AIR screen go out and I took it to a "repair shop" - cost $350 and worked a week then quit again being dark down the side. Repair shop said she must have dropped it which was BS.
Long story short - She went to the Apple Store to see if they could repair it and instead came hone with a NEW one. Christ, we are burning through cash like there is no tomorrow.

BUT WAIT -- There's more! However, I will save it for another day.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I want to second the welcome back, we were worried when you went awol, and with what was happening at the time very concerned that you had been hit by one of the disasters occurring, great to see you back and discussing the spousal unit :D hope you both have a great Xmas.

I do not use my ma

c much nowadays usually use the ipad, but if you have a specific issue, pop it up I may be able to help or bug the other half who uses his for work. I have to say I always do-under excel easier than numbers, especially for tax vat sums but i do not regret the move, smaller easier to move about sit on my lap etc.

Between naps and searching for stuff I once again, I fell short of my goal. No worries I still have two days left until Christmas.

As the Grinch learned, no matter what happens Christmas will come and bring Joy to the world.

“And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.”
