dinner was at 5:30p

The question is: how long to wait before popping a bag of popcorn?

(Dinner was Pizza Hut at wife's request, and was fine... but I've been thinking about popcorn all day.)

In other news, today seemed to be a day for spending money. One thing I hate to do is analyze numbers. And thats what Advertiosing my books needs.

There is a Mistress of BookFace ads ... she's very good at analyzing numbers. I've hung out with her for several days at an author convention. Have no qualms that she's the right one to spend the money with...

But it hurt agreeing to three payments totaling over $1K when that's only about what my books earn in a few weeks. The good news is she's worth the money if I see a return of double that. I've got enough in the backlist of titles that spending $$ each month to get the titles moving is worth the effort.

Three months of coaching, analyzing, and suggesting is what I need.

My old stomping grounds. My parents were born & raised in Bridgeton. I lived on Courthouse Hill(neighborhood behind the County Courthouse at Broad & Fayette) in Bridgeton for about 2 years in the early part of this century.

Saturday around 12:46pm. On the Shonan-Shinjuku line (rapid express) to somewhere. End goal is a “resort” island called Enoshima. Part of it will be covered in a famous train called Enoden. More later and more pics but the attached is this line.
Still a cough but feel better as I slept much better.
More when I am on computer vs phone.

I'm beginning to hate this Low Salt, Low Fat diet I'm on....everything I like is on the verboten list. :(
Low fat diets are generally counter productive. Your body needs fat and it satisfies the cravings. You compensate for low fat by over eating carbs

I’m not arguing with your doctor or nutritionist. Just stating some basic facts that may or may not apply to you.

however, if it’s a doctor who put you on this, remember that most doctors are not trained in nutrition.

We made it to Enoshima. The Enoden train is short hand for Enoshima Dentetsu or Enoshima Electric Railway. It is a small one line private railway serving the area.

the train itself is just a slightly older commuter type (the inside is updated with flat screens etc). The actual Enoshima stop is quaint with a cobble stone (actually inlaid brick) street and small shops and places to eat. We’re having ramen for lunch. The vending machine is how you order and pay in may small restaurants. You choose what you want and pay and get a ticket you give the waitress or cook or whatever is appropriate for the restaurant you’re at.

in the summer the place is famous for surfing. Supposedly there is an aquarium here my son wants to see.

Turns out we have not yet made it out to the actual Enoshima island (shima : jima means island). The whole area is called Enoshima but the city has a different name, which I forget. We’ll walk out to the island (there’s a bridge) if we have time after the aquarium. The island is shown below.

I’m sitting in the jellyfish section at the aquarium waiting for others to catch up. The aquarium is interesting. Mostly dedicated to the bay ecology (local Sagami Bay) and a little to the fresh water rivers that feed it. Their large tank is filled only with fish found in the bay and it’s over 100 different types.

We’ll, we’re walking back to the train station though my daughter is currently distracted by a clothes store.

it almost 5:30pm and we got out of the aquarium and gift shop right before 5pm. It was dusk then and is dark now and a very brisk wind is blowing off the ocean and it’s cold so we decided not to walk out to the island. I’m not sure what is out there anyway.

With the approaching storm some diehards were out trying to catch a wave. This pic shows one guy. Another pic I took shows a bunch but they were further away.

My daughters were always distracted by clothing stores. I used to bring a newspaper with me and find a place to sit. These days there is no reason to bring the newspaper. Another advantage to having a smart phone in our pocket.

Thanks for the details and photos of your trip, I'm enjoying them!

Good morning Everybody!

I woke up ticked off this morning! I did good yesterday and held my tongue. Only my wife knew I was not happy. My blood was boiling this morning.

I tried to let it go. I read all the posts, thank you Everybody!

My kids are so cheap with my grandsons! They say I'm spoiling my grandsons. Nobody is going to tell me how to spend my money!

My kids had everything they wanted for Christmas, anything I thought they might want and more! Not to mention how much I spent on private schools; they see no need for. They turned out ok, just ask them!

One of my daughters told me "I don't know of any kids who have what they have". I replied, "I never knew of two better teenagers" and said no more, my wife was proud of me.

My boys are outstanding people. Even their teachers say so! They are great students, thoughtful of others, in no way selfish and so much more.

I want to tell my daughters to "go to church every day and thank God for those wonderful boys" I was a teenage boy once. I know the alternative.

I may not go to church, but I do thank God every day for all the wonderful gifts in my life.

I'm not spoiling them, I'm rewarding them! If they stay near the top of Santa's nice list, I will continue to reward them!

My ranting is over, I feel relieved, thank you for tolerating me.

I was so off kilter (or off my rocker) this morning I did not even make coffee. Normally my wife has the Mr. Coffee pot setup and all I have to do is push the button. This morning I found half of a pot (12 cup pot) of cold coffee left over from last night! :D I was so very happy! I love cold coffee! Half a pot is enough to fill my big coffee pot twice! :D I felt like Chevy Chase when he got the outside Christmas lights to finally work!

Life is good, full cup of coffee and my train buddies. To top it off I can smell the fresh pot brewing, thank God!
