ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.
It's amazing what you can come across that you didn't know you have. Years back we had a water line for an outside hydrant start leaking and I had a lot of model railroad goodies that were moved into other rooms while the room was being dried out. This was what I called my model railroad down time as without any local hobby shops construction slowed to a snails pace. When construction was up and going again with the help of on line retailers I had totally forgotten about the items that had been moved years earlier. Now I am coming across all sorts of long forgotten things. I have a number of unbuild freight car kits that I'll probably never build, a raft of brass detail parts for steam locomotive and so much more.
Hey you fellers in the northern border states:
Did any of you catch the green skies early this morning around sunrise?
I just got a space weather email alert that a large CME (coronal mass ejection) hit the atmosphere around sunrise causing green skies and auroras in the northern latitudes.
I'd love to see some pics any of you got any.

I might like to try my hand at building one of those cars if you'd be interested in parting with one. If they are HO that is.
I've never built any train cars.
If they are G or N scale, I have a friend in NC that might be interested.

Must have been further north, we had the usual gray and rose dusk clouds along with our sunrise today, they clear up shortly after sunup and yeilded to a pretty sun filled day.
I'll take the corned beef and new potatoes. Keep the cabbage.
I'm not wearing green but have green eyes. Does that count?
Well actually my sneakers are kind of greenish-gray. That's close.
Got about 3/4 of the pool deck pressure washed and I will finish it tomorrow. This afternoon I gave the cleaned off portion of the layout another scrape after being sprayed with ISO, so that part is done. I have the option of moving the back drop in one part of it a couple of inches so I need to think about it if I want to do that. I also think I will be plastering the first section before I put down road bed or track (after risers in place). When I get back home I will order the bridge that I want.
Peggy and the boys are coming over for supper tonight of grilled sausage and potato salad.
I am 3/4 Irish and I don't like corned beef, but I love the cabbage, potatoes, carrots and onions. I made the corned beef for my wife and kids, but I am having hot dogs with my cabbage, potatoes and don't forget the carrots and onions! Forgetting the carrots and onions can be a dead give away you are not following a traditional Irish recipe.
Phil French fries are not traditional Irish food, but I like your thinking, good idea! By the way my grandsons say "pop makes the best French fries!" you are welcome anytime to see for yourself.
Montanan I will be happy to have a beer with you, but I need advanced notice so I can skip a meal. I am diabetic and there has to be a trade off for me to have a beer. Especially a rich beer like Guinness, but that is a trade I will be happy to make.
