Good morning folks.

It's still winter (sigh).

I have the day off finally so I think I'll do nothing! Well, I may vacuum or something so I don't feel guilty about doing nothing.;) I have a few more building kits to bust out so I think I'll visit that later this morning. I also need to figure out what I want to do about the backdrop. I had to scrap the previous one when I moved. Guessing I'll just paint it blue and go from there.

Have a good one.

Good afternoon everybody!

20 with sunny skies in southeast Baltimore

All 3 of my GG1s did in deed arrive yesterday. I have yet to run any of them, but if the Kato locomotives are any where near as good as their packaging they will be first rate.

Terry I hope you feel better soon. Hot soup and rest when you get home.

Where is our good friend 113?

Have a great day everybody!

Under 2 hours to go now Terry! Keep drinking, juice, water or soft drinks, not bourbon at least not until you get home, one before bed won't hurt.

Good to see you 113! I missed you this morning, but I was late any way.

113: Those guys look like they could use a bath and a fresh coat of paint!

They sure look like they could use some TLC buddy..

Hang in there Terry.

Refueling in Iowa. Should be home around 8 pm.

Have a safe drive buddy!

Good afternoon.
I just returned from Nashville, TN where I had appointments at Vanderbilt Heart Clinic.... I go back to Vanderbilt again in about two weeks.

Thanks for all of the complements from several of you about my photo I posted. I really appreciate the kind words.

21 minutes, 11 seconds and counting...
Looking forward (not!) to the ride home. I live 25 miles from work.

Thanks for the well wishes.

Montanan- Why so long? Slow plane or strong headwinds? Or combo?
Hope your stay in Fla. was enjoyable.
How were you treated at the hobby shop in Orlando ?

Flip

Hopefully you are on your way home now as I am typing this post and I hope you have a safe trip, Godspeed Terry.

Evening All,

Our son made us fish taco for supper. Today we had a locksmith come to the house to help open a safe that I lost the combo to. After calling the safe company as a bonded locksmith we were able to get it open. I received telephone box detail parts today, so I painted them and after they dried I put them on the layout. Tomorrow I think I am going to get a haircut and either tomorrow or Thursday I am going to start on my F&C Resin kit of a PRR FM flat car with 5 DD1 containers. I have 2 of them and this is my first resin kit so it should be interesting.

Garry- I hope you are OK.

Terry- I hope you have a safe trip home and the traffic is not like Ashville. I have driven through it probably 6-8 times and every time it has been a miserable drive.

I hope everyone has a good night.

You must be talking about I-240 on the north and west side of town and/or I-25/26 on the west side in and around the exits to I-40. I worked at 3 different engineering firms in Asheville but lived about hour's drive north in Yancey county. I know what you are talking about.
Can't be as bad as anything around metro-Atlanta - even on a good day. Kind of makes me feel just fine and dandy I don't drive anymore.

I am home.
The traffic here is nothing like Atlanta. I drive 150 miles out of my way to avoid Atlanta.
That said, nobody here knows how to drive in snow or ice. Snow, you can take your time, and, with a little luck, get where you're going in one piece.
Ice, it is more luck than skill. I'd rather be lucky than good, and today I was lucky--twice. The current weather forecast for Tomorrow night through Thursday is 4+ inches of snow. I told the powers that be, if I wake up and see 4 inches of snow on the road, I am staying home. While I could probably make it to and from work with few problems, it is the 45,000 other drivers that will be on the road at the same time that gives me the willies.
Anyway, off to bed, after a dose of medicine. I still feel like crap. Anybody wants to know what crap feels like, ask me.

Evening y'all, it's 25*F with a 5mph SSE breeze [that means warmer air on the way - hooray!].

Terry, I'm glad to see you got home in one piece. Hope you've got decent medicine to fight whatever bug is bringing you down.

Garry - hope the results of your visit to the heart clinic will be ok.

Curt - Nice job on the shelves. I wound up tearing out shelves similar to that which were already in the garage when we bought the house, in order to make space for a bigger layout. I managed to recycle a lot of the wood for use in my new benchwork.

Montanan - hope you've landed safely back in your home state.
. . .
Here is a photo of the snow that remains in my yard after last Saturday's winter storm. The rain that followed it, plus the above freezing temps on Sunday, created little rivers underneath the snow's surface.

Nothing train-related tonight, I'm not feeling quite normal. Gotta get some rest...

Anybody wants to know what crap feels like, ask me.

Don't have to. I've had pneumonia too many times and bronchitis just as many.
Last time with pneumonia the ex took me to the ER. I had a 105 fever and kept passing out.
I even passed out in the ER while filling out the paper work.

So yeah, I know all too good and well what crap feels like. So long as you wake up on the right [correct] side of grass tomorrow, you'll make it.
Besides, you'll have to look forward to seeing how well I do building that kit you sent me!

Be well Brother!!!

Edit: BTW Terry you would be happy to know that Santa Fe #2380 just pulled laps with that same roster just fine!!!
Fun to have the sounds to go along!
