corgi from russia with love.jpg

I have that Chevy truck and the Mustang from Goldfinger.

Corgi is almost as cool as James Bond himself!

IN MEMORIAM - JEFFREY WIMBERLY

Good morning everybody!

11 with clear skies in southeast Baltimore.

What can I say? IT"S FREAKING COLD!

Thank God we have shelter, heat and of course our trains, pray for those less fortunate.

Try to stay warm everybody and have a great day.

AH ! The smell of fresh brewed coffee. It offsets the chill of the 36* f temp. Should get up to 56* this p.m. Mid and upper 60's then 70's by tursday, thru thursday. Then Garry will be going home.
Hope to meet him. Curt is at RR Proto watchmacallit.
Heck, I just want to run the dang trains.
Hope y'all are staying warm. Be careful in the cold and if you're driving, watch for ICE>

Good morning all. 24 degrees and clear skies this morning. I agree with Karl.

Going back to Toots comment yesterday about the demolition derby at his DCC club and having things go not so right. What's wrong with these o[perators. Maybe they should get some seeing eye dogs. A couple of years back while visiting another modeler out of state, I was invited to operate during a 2 day open house they had at his model railroad club. It was a huge layout. I think they had over 16 scales miles of main line on the layout. At home I only run one train at a time and was really pleased that they offered me a train on the main line instead of having to be a yard hostler or something.

This club sure had their poop in a group. They had dispatchers and operated with wireless head sets, and also had an operating signal system. At all times we had at least 10 trains operating at one time with DCC and at some times up to 120 trains going. In 2 7 hour sessions we never had an incident, even when the signal system was down for a period of time. Apparently Toots group had some serious problems. I am not a DCC operator normally but really enjoyed these sessions and even not being very familiar with the layout, a little bit of common sense is all that was needed by the operators to have some very enjoyable operation sessions.

Toot, you're going to have to come up with some operating parameters for that group of yours.

Good morning, 8*F and calm in my neighborhood.

I've started using my auxiliary electric heater and shut down the heat pump, since it might seize up when the outside temp gets down to the single digits. That happened last winter, I just [luckily] happened to be in the garage when I heard it start to screech - so I was able to shut it down before any serious damage was done.

Good Morning: 14° and sunny today - not a beach day - even the gulls are hunkered down. Good thing Natural Gas prices are down, the furnace hasn't stopped running all morning. Going to Walmart to pick up my Rx.

NOT going to embarrass you guys this morning with any temperature postings, but all I have to say about your postings is:
YIKES! .. Stay safe!

Good morning, America, how are ya?! Woke up to -4 degrees and it is now 7 degrees. Heatwave is underway!!! The weatherman was calling for -14 and it did get that cold north of us but by virtue of us being nearer the equator, we stayed warmer than some of the others. :)

Louis is right, while we complain about how cold it is or how expensive some model is, there are many who have little or nothing in the way of money or shelter.

Good morning all. 24 degrees and clear skies this morning.

.

Some of the warmest weather in the Nation!! We had a balmy - 2 all night and supposed to get up to + 10 today, however, back in the freezer tomorrow with an anticipated high of -10.

Nice weather to work indoors!!

Evening all,

Hello Flo & Francine, Flo, I'll just have some of your Herbal tea and maybe a peach Pie, Ruebarb sounds good!

It was a very nice day today, Per WW it's: 47.8 °F - Feels Like 45 °F. Winds are 5.8 from the East. The high today was 68 and the low should be 46 °F. Hum-i-dity is ?, there one moment and gone the next.

Nothing like living dangerously. They do that too down at my DCC club, but without any control system other than fingers on the throttle and no cornfields either, but the "meets" do happen. I don't run any good stuff there any more.

After having 6 85' passenger cars slammed off the layout (thank goodness not onto the floor) and a train pushed out of staging because someone switched the turnout that I had set against that happening, I couldn't agree more.

Say Toot, glad to hear it was no worse, that can be bad enough depending on the speed of the loco that hit them if that's what happened?

Say Chet and Toot, Speaking of the possibility of accidents happening. I was operating on a portion of my layout last night since I finished getting the Whiskey siding and main line electrified. I had just backed the Old Time Climax with a DRG Box car and a Bobber Caboose onto the Whiskey siding, to clear the main line so the I could run the Box Cab Track Cleaner and work train by it to clean the mainline tracks which extend most of the way around Amalgamate Hill. The BCTC and cars had just gone through three curved turnouts leaving the Horseshoe Meadow Depot area and I was watching to ensure there were no derailments as well as expecting it to head onto the back main line passing the OTClimax. Good thing I was going slow, the darn switch forget to align the switch and I almost ran into the OTClimax with the flat car carrying ties and a box of spikes that the BCTC was pushing.

So like Chet said it pays to be alert and note what's happening.

Doc was pleased with my exam. Other blood test won't be done till tomorrow. So far so good. I'm WAY ahead of the curve.
Supposed to get down to 34 tonight and a high tomorrow of 54 . Hey ,its winter. Wear another shirt.
G'nite for now. Bundle up

Say Phil, Glad to hear everything is going along good with the exams. Keep up whatever your doing.

Hoping to meet FLip and Curt in FL.

Say Garry, Enjoy your trip to Florida as well as meeting Phil & Curt.

Reminds me of " WALTER " Flip

Say Phil, Are you referring to 'Watler' from Jeff Foxworthy? That's some funny stuff and he very Patriotic too!

Time to call it a day and head to the house. Here's a picture in the yard at Laurel, MT in 1956.

Say Chet, Thanks for posting the shot. I enhanced the picture and it really shows some great detail.
