Cold with temps dropping to -5 tonight. Mostly hanging where it's warm today.

Got about 2" of snow and it's 10° now. Supposed to hit a high of 12° at about 9:00 AM then start dropping. Depending upon on who you listen to, it could get as cold as -3° to -15°. We dodged the worst of it though, just 20 miles or so north of us they got 5-6" of white #@$&!!! Sorry for the sudden outburst of colorful language.............the winter weather just made me snap!

21 with snow falling in southeast Baltimore. We already have 3 inches on the ground and it's still coming down. The weather man say it's supposed to snow into the afternoon, but in Baltimore we know we can't trust the weatherman. They already have it wrong because total accumulation was only supposed to be 1-2 inches. I am just glad they did not call for flurries because that has tuned out to be a blizzard in the past.
On the bright side it is pretty on this the 12th and final day of Christmas, kind of nice for the Feast of the Epiphany.

Good Morning Guys--
Thanks to the cloud cover it only got down to 5 below last night, it was - 17 the night before.
Sounds like some of you southerners have more snow than us, only about 2" on the ground here, which is fine with me.

Days Gone Bye!
Been reading SIL FaceBook postings on his morning commute tp the Pentagon from Gainsville on 66. He has had a heck of a time this morning. Lots of accidents and 5 mph driving .. I feel for him and all who have to put up with the long commutes.
Meantime, it was 78 here yesterday .. Forcast 80 today with clear skies. Commiefornia has lots of problems, but winter weather is not one of them!

Well my "vacation" will be coming to an end on the 23rd of this month..........just got a call from the union hall to do refuel at a nuke.........oh well, more money for trains, after paying the bills.

Mid thirties in FL *is* really cold. This Fall we brought up a dog from FL, a dachshund mix. The poor little girl is walking around on the ice crust looking around "I gotta go, where's the grass? Gonna explode here. Where did they hide the dang grass?"
Here in MA the Accuweather says it is 2F, "feels like 11F" Nooo, it feels like 2 degrees.

Evening all, Just thought I'd stop in for a bit.
Hi Flo and Francine, You ladies never cease to amaze me at how lat your still around and then bright and early the next morning! How do you do it??
Now that a Snow pack alright! Not being familiar with the different diesel Loco's I looked up the height of an SD-40 assuming they are probably all about the same height. It said 15' 7 1/8", so that snow pack is probably about 17' feet deep considering the rails are probably up about 2' high on road bed already!
Well Sherrel, Your quite a bit warmer down you way as compared to Central Calif. Today was the warmest day I've had in a long time. Todays temps per my cell phone were 33* this morning and 70* was the high. A couple of days ago the temp dropped down to 27* overnight and the high was about 45* as I recall. Of course we are 350 miles apart too and I'm much closer to the High Sierra Nevada mountains. Although you have Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead about 70 miles North of you too.
Say Chet, That's a neat shot showing the steam rotary and two steam Loco's pushing, reminds me of some of the video I watched of the Combres & Toltec Scenic RR. Great picture alright.
Say Phil, That's getting quite cold alright, especially for Florida, but even in the deserts of Calif. it has been known to snow a bit at night.
Say Epimetheus, Mass. is known for some of the bitter cold they get there, I remember when I was back in the area just South of Cape Cod and I used to see large chunks of sea water frozen along the shore line. Amherst si in land a ways but your not all that far from Boston on the East and New York to the West a ways, all very cold areas!

Morning everyone. Heat wave !!! Time to get out the shorts. 42 degrees this morning. The question is for how long. Hopefully some of the snow will melt off and make room for more snow.

22 with clear skies in south east Baltimore. The snow must have compacted because now we still have 3" of snow on the ground. We had the same amount yesterday morning and it was still snowing. I don't much care for this cold weather, but after hearing what some of you are dealing with I won't complain.
Christmas is officially over, but I am excited to put some new things on the layout when I put away the Christmas stuff!
CJ is back, the doctor is in the house!

-18c this morning, yesterday the wind chill was -31c.
Unfortunately, the dog still likes his walks, and whoever says that being on the coast moderates the temperature is crazy. Still, I laugh at the smokers huddled outside having their fix!

Bill, as always, thanks for the coffee. I brought a box of mixed danish.
Epi-We have a toy poodle, all 15 lbs of him. Only time he on grass is when he goes to the vet. We keep puppy pads on a corner of the porch and thats where he does his business. Yes, he lets us know when he has to go.
2*, 11* That is FREEZER TEMP. You Yankees are nuts. Me, I'm a damnyankee as I came south and stayed.
2:30 Appt with Oncologist. Just six month check up.
