Good morning ........... A Big Thanks t oall who commented on my photos.

Chet .... I have a good friend in Michigan who models the MILW in Montana. He does impressive work and has his layout featured in model RR publications. ... The photos you are posting are remarkable.

Here's my NP Geep which is a detailed Athearn model

Thanks. i have seen the articles and videos. He has done an excellent job. Enjoyed it a lot because I have relatives living in Harlowtown and have banger around a lot in that part of the state. The Central Montana RR now runs on the old Milwaukee Road rails in that part of the state. They have a dinner train running out of Lewistown up to Denton and back which we have taken a trip on. The Charlie Russell Choo Chew.

Dan did go to Montana for research and photos of the MILW line before building the layout. He interviewed some former MILW employees. I would like to visit Montana myself.

I wish we had something like that to take a ride on... have some supper and drinks with my lady at my side who also enjoyed the nostalgia of a train ride. The last train I rode (besides the metro-Atlanta MARTA thing) was the train they run around the base of Stone Mountain.
Several problems with all that wish list. I'd likely have to hit the IRA for a draw (which I don't terribly mind). I have no lady in my life. Far as I know there aren't any trains around here that do little runs like that. It would be awesome.

Guess I should go stir my dirt before it becomes a brick.

Big E - Here's a couple of pictures of the train. The GP-9's are ex GN and the RDC are from the B&M, now unpowered.

It was an interesting trip. When we took it, it was hunting season. The train would be going through rolling hills and you would come out from behind a hill and you would see deer all over the place and then pass another hill and there were the hunters looking for the deer. This happened numerous time on the trip and was a bit entertaining.

Ok. I'm about tired of doing this dirt work so I'm go finish it off right now. Batch #3 is pretty well ground up and I'm ready to be done with it. Like they say about NOT letting a horse run back to the barn... that's what I feel like. I'll put up a picture later after I'm done.

Speaking of entertainment, we rode the Amtrak California Zephyr a few years ago. We found out why the train crews refer to the Colorado River as "Moon River".

Afternoon All,

I finished painting and placing rockage on the first part of the project. Monday starts the second part which is building the bridge. I opened it's box today and it looks like there are at least 600 parts in the kit. I convinced MOH to let me put down a large cutting mat I have on the dinning room table and build the bridge there. I don't have enough room at my work table to spread out. I'm thinking it will probably take a couple of weeks to finish the kit. Fingers crossed.

Garry- As always excellent modeling and photography.

Louis- Very nice historical picture.

Montanan- Love the bridge.

I hope everyone has a good weekend and I will talk to you on Monday.

Louis ... I like the B&O photo.
Curt ... You are doing well. Good idea to cover the track with tape while doing scenery.
Chet ... My friend, Dan, just emailed me. He has a tho part article in RMC modeling the Great Falls MT MILW depot. I have not purchased RMC in a long time, but now I have an excuse to get it.

Curt, moving along nicely.

Lots of great photos today.

Garry, now I'm going to have to find an issue of RMC also. Drove past the old Milwaukee Road depot earlier this week. It's a beautiful Building. It was some sort of a shopping mall in the early 80's and I believe that it is being used as offices now. They sure built some beautiful depots.

This must have been one heck of a building to model.
