Morning fellers,
66 and partly cloudy here. High up to 88.

Last night - well up until about an hour ago - I laid down some new track.
Apparently it wasn't all new track. Must have been some of the Terry sent. At least there was a bright boy (albeit quite old and worn) included.

It will take some time to get it down proper since it's not on a table of any sort. LOTS of dead spots - mostly on the older track pieces. Not all my joiners are in the best of shape either. I might need to just get some more and start throwing out the bad ones.

Anyway, here it is. It's nearly 20' from outside curve to the other end.

Good Morning All. Happy Independence Day. It's 68° and mostly cloudy, after a night with some thunderstorms and wind. Nothing serious and we received .4" of rain. That will really help with grass fire abatement tonight. Made another dent in the tomato pile yesterday with five half-pints of salsa. More spaghetti sauce coming up on Friday, when enough more of them ripen.
OK, this "Amazon Echo" thing that my wife received for Mother's Day is getting out of hand. First of all, she talks to it and gets responses all of the time, she plays word games with it; tells it what music to play and all sorts of other stuff. All through the day, she'll think of something to buy at the grocery store and just tells the device, then asks for the list using her phone while we are in the store. It's constantly chirping up when someone on TV states its name, which has been happening with some frequency lately. Yesterday she said "Alexa, set the timer for ten minutes" and the damn thing told her when ten minutes was up! Eerie!!! I guess that there's only one thing left that she needs me for!
Nothing in the train shed yesterday except for running a few trains, as I was mowing parts of the yard in advance of the predicted rain. Picked a bunch more tomatoes as well.

Chet - Sounds like you're really moving some autos.
Sherrel - So glad that the doggie recovered. I know how much she means to you. Nice score on the car.
Terry - Toot beat me to the punch regarding turning auto-updates "off". On my desktop with Win7, I have it set to auto-updating at 1:00am. Don't know if this can be done with Win10. Computer is on but "sleeping" at that time.
Ken (D&J) - Rule # 13 of "model railroad rules to live by" is to have a spare of all tools for when you lose the first one. I'll repost those rules in case you missed them the first time.
Eric - Attachments didn't show up for me.

Everybody have a great and safe 4th holiday.

Willie

Say's invalid links for me too, good that you're getting tracks down.

Willie, You can pick a time with Win10 as well, but it doesn't seem to let you choose which updates to download and install, Win7 let you do that, obviously MS think you don't need to know.

Sure hope you guys keep the ghosts' on your side of the fence! KEN, I'd bet a dollar that all three are in the same place? Happy 4th .. remember Beady's post from yesterday.

Karl - Thats funny - TWO Mondays! Remember the first 5 days after a weekend are the hardest!

TOOT sure hope that you did not leave those sitting on top of your car. My neighbor does that quite often. I have yelled at him to stop several times. He has a cross bed tool box on his truck and he leaves stuff, including tools, perched there ready to jump off at the first turn!

It's supposed to be 96 for a high here today. Have to get several things done today. Kaiser called and they want me in LA tomorrow morning for physical and pre admitting, x-rays and such. Wife wants to ride the train again with me -- then we will have to turn around on Thursday to be there at 5:30 am for surgery.
This is the "big one" and they have said that I will be in ICU for a min of two days while they see if there are any complications and then probably be in hospital for a few days after that. I'm just along for the ride at this point where ever the train goes!

Happy 4th to everyone!

Willie ... I am still trying to think of a reason that she "needs" you around?
They make machines for sex too, so must not be that!
Must be to repair the dishwasher and mow the grass?

I think I might bury that thing in the NE 40! Take the batteries out first soes it can't dig it's self out.

For Willie and anyone else........

Try posting photos again:

Well, in my "quick reply" window they both show up just fine.
Now what happens when I actually post them???

Yeah I see them now also. On my initial post they show up "attachment xxxxxxx" with no pictures in line like normal.

But anyway, I got my brother Bill to take into town for the dollar store and the hardware store.
I got small wire brads to nail the track I have layed down - at least for stability if nothing else.

Looks much better than your initial setup.

This signature is intended to irritate people.

Afternoon All,

Happy 4th of July everyone. Been out for a couple of days with family stuff, so no MRR stuff to talk ahout. I started pressure washing the house this morning. I got the front done today, I'll do the sides tomorrow and the pool deck Thursday. Did I mention it's hot as hades here.

The whole thing with PB really pisses me off. I consider it the same as extortion. I will have to figure something else out. I figure that if they are successful the other sharing services will follow suit.

Eric- Lets get some trains running!

VA Ken- Great video. I had forgotten how large your layout is.

John- Have a great vacation.

Louis- That was a great movie.

Sherrel- Very nice scratch build.

I hope everyone has a good night.
