Evening gents. Did I mentoined I spent Sunday in the ER again. Got a new feeder tube installed... again. The outside of my belley is pretty much blood raw. I'll probably rack out early tonight. I keep falling asleep sitting up... like I just half way through writing this sentence.

I've been taking it way easy so as not to aggravate that beller stoma. Every time I feel semi-good I get some things done. But you all know me. I end up getting a boat load done plus get all my wounds good and loosened up and oozing and/or outright bleeding and then I'm screwed for the next week at least - like now.
Probably a good thing I don't have my layout here as it is.Would not mind having all trains and my parts and pieces and everything.

You all have a good one!
E

Eric - Good to see the update, even though it wasn't the best news. The good part is that you are still posting. We're all still cheering for you.

Willie

Eric - sorry to hear about all the s**t you went thru this past week. But as Willie said, at least you're still here to tell us about it.

Garry - that junkyard photo with the FA behind the fence looks totally real, I had to do a double-take!

* * *
Don't have time for much chitchat at the moment, I'm wolfing-down my supper - then I'm back to the workshop to continue assembling the three slag car kits that arrived in my mailbox yesterday!

Beady we pick our friends, but family...

I know your an Antsiest, but if you did believe in God you would have to agree he/she has a great sense of humor :)

Regardless; God bless you my friend and have a great Thanksgiving if you can't be here to see my Thanksgiving day post.

That goes for everyone; Happy Thanksgiving if you can't be here to see my Thanksgiving day post, God Bless us Everyone!

I am thankful for this forum and all of the members among so many other things. I am blessed to be thankful for so many things I could not begin to name them all!

Look at this little beauty that showed up at my door yesterday. I just opened it up, I was busy yesterday.

Bachmann Trains Freightmaster N Scale Ready To Run Electric Train Set

I could not resist, with the bonus surprise points it was much cheaper than Amazon or MB Klein and free shipping! I love Kmart!

If you are not already you should look at signing up for their Shop Your Way Rewards program.

Glad you are feeling well enough to post there E but take it easy mon!

PRR- Thanks! It's been a busy day here on the old M.C.U.! Incoming family at 12 o'clock and "all wheels on rail!" It's SHOWTIME!
DSCF4414.jpgScrap loads comin down the mountain, freight headed god knows where and the Army Train is classified! After running tests it was time for some "action mode" action!
DSCF4415.jpgI'm learning! I tried to get the shot on the "S" curve and I should just stop the thing and take the picture next time! LOL!
DSCF4416.jpgNot too shabby! After adding all my plastic shod stock to my metal wheeled fleet I've got 92 rollers to drag and 7 good loco's to choose from with 2 lil track inspection vehicles darting in there somewhere! I just "plopped em down" and then had my version of an ops session unmixing them into somewhat more sensible combinations, all boxcars together that kind of thing. Maybe tomorrow it will be all road names regardless of function, GT everything in this train, all CN over here, whatever. Took all darn day and even my Son got distracted from his video games for a while!

Everyone have a happy THANKSGIVING!

NICE! That is a sharp lookin little train! I came soooo close to going N scale! Always thought it was very neat and you can really maximize any space available. Arthritis and eyesight issues dictate otherwise! Even though I have difficulty trying to manipulate the stuff, I am seriously thinking of adding an N scale elevated loop to the eventual city part of the layout. Forced perspective will be my excuse to have some N scale action and "Electric" stock, no plans for any electric lines on the "main" layout but it would help add detail to a city scene.

Good evening .

Johny, Joe, Chet, Curt, and Ken ... Thanks for commenting on my scrap yard.

Eric... Sorry to hear you were back in ER.... We continue to encourage you as you fight the monster.

Louis ... The CSX train looks great.

NG ... You are putting together a busy layout.

Karl ... LOL at Grumpy comment.

Has anybody heard from Corey ?

I think you're too tall to be Sleepy. How are Sneezy, Dopey, Grumpy and Doc?
I use to tell everyone I was a Leprechaun. That always induced some strange looks.

Grumpy's fine, she just went to bed!:rolleyes:
I know you are talking about one of the cats.

Bruce you really have a great empire taking shape there, well done!

My problem is I love all trains!

Sometimes I wonder; when I do finally move and begin working on permanent layouts will I ever get anything accomplished or will I be bouncing from one thing to another. Ah well, I'm sure I will be having fun!

Thank you Garry, I had been eyeing it since I first spotted it in MB Klein a year or 2 ago. I was shopping at K-mart. com and an add came up for it. I did not realize they sold so many trains. I had priced it at Amazon and other places, but I am cheap. When K-mart offered $33 in bonus points, $10 in surprise points, an electronic coupon for $10 off any purchase of $50 or more and free shipping I was sold! it's rare to beat MB Klein by that much, I thought only Amazon could do that.

I'm seeing more and more train stuff at big retailers. I bought some Lionel Christmas cars at Target a few weeks ago. It was direct shipped to me from Lionel.

Even Walmart is offering a wide selection of model trains.

Hopefully more manufacturers will be offered by the mass marketers soon.

Anything that promotes the proliferation of our hobby is good news to me.

One more day until Turkey day!

It's shaping up to be a great Thanksgiving day!!! Everything is on schedule, well I'm a little but behind, but I feel great to finish strong!

First of all the 24th is my Jack's birthday, the man who raised me. His full name was John James Timmerman born 11/24/1898, greatest human being I ever knew! I never even once heard him raise his voice or say anything bad about anyone. I'm most thankful for Jack and his wife Irene, my Nanny They took in a poor boy little boy and gave me the happiest home anybody could imagine :) Thank you Nanny, Jack, God and my Mom for letting me live with them!

My Mom will be here, my friend Patrick from Philadelphia and his family are coming. We will have a table full and more food than anyone can eat!

That reminds me; my dinning room table is more than 100 years. It belonged to my great Aunt Margaret. Many generations of my Mother's family have sat at that table for Thanksgiving Dinner. I only came to have it because everybody else turned it down and hauling the big old heavy (and I do mean heavy!) thing away would have cost too much. They called me because I had a truck and now I have a great table! :) Thank you Aunt Margaret!

We have NFL football to watch! I always enjoy watching the Lions, but I still miss Barry Sanders. The Redskins take on the Cowboys.

Time to get moving. I get to go to school with my little man Ayden for his school's Thanksgiving Feast. My daughter-in-law made some beautiful Hungarian cake I can't even begin to pronounce for our contribution to the feast.

Have a great day Everybody and in case you won't be here tomorrow I say HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!!!

Good Morning All. A bit chillier this morning at 49° and clear skies. Picked up my "deep-fried turkey" yesterday from a vendor that I used to do business with. He has a nine-man crew cooking them in 15 fryers in a back room of his factory, for three days for all of his customers and other hanger-ons like me. He is doing 220 of them this year. He buys three 55 gallon drums of peanut oil to use. Quite a sight to see, each crew member has a specific task, including one "timekeeper" who times each turkey (fryer #'s on the wall behind each one), to avoid over or under cooking them. Another two-man crew packages them; someone else tracks oil and propane...etc. Kettle #16 is where the crew cooks lots of tilapia for themselves as their break from turkey. Quite the assembly line.
Didn't get a lot of time in the train shed yesterday, as I also went shopping for turkey day supplies. I am bringing beer and fruit salad for 30 people to our festivities. Fortunately one of my brothers is also assigned beer...a necessary commodity for an Irish Catholic gathering.

Garry - That's a really fine junkyard scene.
Louis - Nice looking train. "N" scale huh? Glad that you posted the picture as I probably couldn't see it (too small) in person. LOL
Bruce - Great progress coming to the finish line. And wow! You're beginning to do operations! LOL Don't fret too much about the plastic wheels, I still have about 90 more cars to convert. Many of them run well as is, but I do wish to upgrade all of them as time and $$$ permit.
Johnny - If you're still lurking, have a good Thanksgiving.
Sherrel - MIL sounds like she has a great sense of humor.
Beady - Always good to hear from you, always the optimist. By the way, have you begun the "Wicked Wanda's" structure yet?
Karl - I like it (Grumpy). Have you resolved your "tiny feet" dilemma yet? I have trapped four in the last two weeks in the train shed. They don't venture near the house (that I know of) due to the cats.

Everybody have a great day. Those who won't be around tomorrow, have a great Thanksgiving Day.

Willie

34 degrees and I should be hunting instead of cleaning but there is nobody to hunt with anymore. Sad, my Son is 19, I have three nephews in their 20's, none of them are interested in learning anything about field craft, shooting, hunting, fishing, trapping, edible plants, tracking, shelter construction, fire making or any of the cool stuff you can do in the woods! The accumulated knowledge passed down to me by previous generations will be lost if I can't get somebody interested in the outdoor lifestyle!

Thanks Bruette! It is going better than I ever dreamed it would! The thing got crowded with rollers awful quick, I need more track! LOL! It's been my lament since the beginning! When I started I bought a full case of flex and my newbish self thought it would be a lifetime supply! NOT even close, THEN I got 88 full pieces of flex and about a hundred pieces of sectional from the dealer guy. When I put in the 5th loop I will be very close to having 600 feet of track down but I still have more room and I see where I can put more lines! I'm going to need that other yard on the end and maybe at least one more somewhere pretty soon. No doubt about it, I need more track!

Thanks, I have always been on the way to "Protoville" and operational themed running I'm just not going to let it run me or worry if I get all the details correct. It's like the "Pirate Code"! "More or less guidelines than actual rules" as far as I'm concerned and I'm sure now that I will never be able to stop poking fun at those who take it TOO seriously! ( A pox on fast clocks! LOL!) Trains is trains and there are things trains do that trains must do, like stay on the track and go from place to place.

Good morning. 33°, and sunny. I wish everyone here a Happy Thanksgiving Day. Safe travel to everyone traveling this weekend.

Eric: Hang in there buddy. Hope things get better for you real soon.

Bruce: Protoville? Really? That's cool. Bottom line with all of this is your choice at your pace.
