Good morning ...... Happy Thanksgiving.

God Bless us Everyone!

Louis: ... Thanks for posting that message. Blessings to you too. I have so much to thank God for. ... Humor is good and I like the cartoons.

David Trussrod ..... Thanks for the comments about the junk yard scene.

We have company arriving later today.

Don't eat too much, everybody.

Louis- Thanks! Hope you guys saved a little coffee for me? Darnit! You beat me up with the tree already!!

Burlington Bob DARN - It's good to hear from you again! Several around here have been asking about you.

As we listen to "Alice's Restaurant" and count the blessings I think back to years gone by and the memories that stand out.
imagesX63E08WY.jpgOne of the most memorable! "Oh, the Humanity"

Do any of you name your Turkey ? We always call ours "Flip, the Bird".

Burlington Bob .... Good to see you.

Have Phil or Corey bee posting lately ?

Gentle Thoughts and good vibes to Big E and all my MRR brethren on this day as always, hope you are doing all right wherever you may be. The calls have started and the lone wolves are trickling in one by one, the family units should be along shortly, PARTY TIME!

Be safe and all that but have FUN while you are doing it! No drinking and driving please! If you drink, STAY where you are and drink some more! You will get where you need to be tomorrow!

Daivd no running bear sightings as far as I know.

Terry you are a good man to put differences aside to celebrate thanksgiving with your family. I am sure your brother is proud of you and when I grow up I want to be just like you!

Bob it's great to see your post!

Bruce that is funny, "God help us everyone" :) She sounds like a real angel.

Sherrel you should know if I take the last cup I will always make more. I may have my tree up first but you can still beat me to the decorations, but I do have 2 trains ready to run under my tree.

Garry I almost fell out of my chair laughing, "flip, the bird" too funny! :) I don't name ours, but I do honor his sacrifice by not wasting a bit. The dogs clean up the scraps and I boil the carcass to make soup stock.

Phil checked in yesterday, all is well, but his computer is still acting funky. I have not heard from Corey. I miss David AKA LASM as well.

Once again Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!

By the way, there's a ringer somewhere in the train. Once upon a time, I and another guy were friends, and he mentioned his son had a pretty large HO scale layout in his house. Over the course of time, I got a small package from his son, through him. The package contained one of the coal hoppers from his private road in this train.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Didn't get much time to really do anything. I managed to get my steps painted. I like the earth tone dry brush idea trussrod. I haven't built up the courage to do it yet. I think for now I'll just do a dull coat on it or leave it as is for the time being. I had hoped to work on the other camp house this week but the first one was just giving me grief. Hopefully the lessons learned will make the next one easier. I installed the steps and window glazing today as that's all the time I had.

These kits come with an addition for the rear of the houses. Space limitations made it to where I couldn't add them. It's ok though as perhaps down the road when more space is available and I can go a little bigger I can plan to add them in. I still have to build and paint the chimney as well. But I'm pleased with how this one has turned out.

Yes, Bruette, she WAS! Now in her 40's and no longer quite the little angel who also said "half of one, six dozen of the other", she has been, is, and will always be our family's "Yogi Berra"! LOL!

Ran trains pretty much all day and no derailments and only a few coupling issues. Even when goaded into a speed run they performed awesomely! I have one or two spots at turnouts where they sometimes like to glitch and the sound all comes roaring back to life but nobody came off the rails which was very satisfying!

No beer, sis is into wine now, WHOO! Good thing her hubby is driving! Did not even see the Lions game, I'll see how much they lost by tommoroww. LOL! Hope everyone had a great day! Time to crash!

My time at the nephew's was eased by a mason jar of corn liquor. The downside to that was having to wait until I was legal to drive home.

Good evening. Had my usual excessive consumption of turkey, taters and all the other typical Thanksgiving Day fare. Passed out shortly after supper, now I'm getting my second wind. All the kids [and spouses where applicable] were here, plus one of SWMBO's old friends from high school.

Bruce - glad your TG Day train show was a success!

Louis - I enjoy seeing the "postcards"!

Terry - excellent video of your N&W doubleheader coal drag. Just curious: How can you tell when your blood-alcohol level is "street legal" - is there some kind of kit or device for measuring that?

Sherrell - I'll call you tomorrow after things have had a chance to settle down...

Eric - haven't forgotten you, hang in there! hopefully next year by this time you'll be back to being able to eat normal food.

Finished assembling the slag car kits, now comes the hard part: Making the new ones look like the ones I already had. That'll be hard to do, since the Floquil Roof Brown color I used on the old ones is no longer available. Just have to do a lot of trial-and-error paint mixing I guess...

Since I know everybody likes photos, I'll go ahead and insert the one I used across the street on the "show-me-something" thread. Actually kind of appropos since I'm working on my slag car fleet, and the image is from the slag dump pit on my previous layout. I've posted this one dozens of times in the past, but maybe some of the new people here haven't seen it yet.

Guess I'll attempt to get some more shut-eye. Hope you all were able to enjoy the holiday!

Been noticing a lot of rumbles, haven't been able to pinpoint the source. No sign of storms about. Odd. Don't think it's an earthquake, but it sure is strange. Ah, a report on the TV and radio. Not to worry about it?? What's that they're saying.....................It's just the sound of Americans snoring. Sleeping off their turkey!!.....Well I never.

Reports are coming in from ships in the Pacific experiencing strange, regular wave forms and all flights between here and LA have turned back or been cancelled due to heavy turbulence, mostly emanating from the Baltimore region, even the Rockies aren't stopping it. The Atlantic is in turmoil, completely unnavigable.

The World is waiting and watching for America to awaken, but prepared for it to be a long slow process. Emergency measures will stay in place for several hours yet.
