That is what I was thinking, but how do you measure the charge? Voltage across the capacitor?

That would make it easy.

I understand how to test a capacitor using a multimeter, but it typically requires removing the capacitor from the circuit. I was looking for a shortcut.
From this site (I make no warranty about whether this will work, or send you to spark testing in the sky... use at your own risk

How to Run an AC Capacitor Test

In order to run your AC capacitor test, you will need to begin by turning off the power. It is very important that you start with this step for your own safety and that of the system.

When the system has been turned off, you will disconnect all of the wiring. The amount of lines may vary depending on the AC capacitor itself. Be sure to completely disconnect everything.

After you have disconnected the wiring, it is time to drain any of the leftover voltage. Again, this is a very important step that must be completed before you carry out any testing. In some instances, you may need to remove rust from the terminal to expose the contacts.

Dual capacitors can be discharged with a 10,000 to 20,000 ohm resistor across all three terminals. Single capacitors can be discharged by placing the resister across the two taps.

Following the discharge process, you can jump into testing. To do this, you will want to use a multimeter with the MFD setting or uF setting.
-----
When testing, you will know that an AC capacitor is bad if it falls out of the appropriate range. A good capacitor will have a uF MFD reading around 5% of the storage capacity. This will vary by device, so be sure to check the capacity. Anything significantly outside of this standard reading should indicate that the system is bad.

In some cases, you can tell that a capacitor is bad without testing. Common indicators of this include a capacitor that looks expanded or bloated, signs of leaking dialectic fluid, an oil-soaked top cap, or any other physical issues.

Good morning, all! Well, it's raining. A low is moving in from the Gulf and following the track of Beryl. It is a rain maker with 6 to 8 inches possible. Those folks that got flooded during Beryl, more water headed their way.

Thank you for all your kindness after the loss of my furry friend. There are a few reminders that can upset us, but it is getting better. He'll never be forgotten.

Burgers - We pretty much have them all, except maybe Culver's. We like Fudrucker's and Red Robin probably better than the others. As others have stated, the ones we make at home are the best. I like to use 75% beef and 25% pork mix.

Trains - I had a little operating session as I needed the distraction from thinking about the dog. Everything worked flawlessly except for 1 box car. For some reason it decided to derail from time to time. I end for ended it and it worked fine. I never had an issue with it before.

Down at the hobo camp.

Good Afternoon All!
74F @ 29% hazy with smoke.

Burgers: If not making at home, I have always used Zip's as my goto. What a Burger, In & Out just do not taste the same as Zip's; fry's are better also. Y'all know we traveled all around the USofA for many years. Hardee's and Carl's Jr are/were the easiest places to get them, and they were not bad.

Went to 5 Guy's a month or so ago in Kalispell - crap fries and burger was not how we asked for them. Won't do that again.

Had a Doc appointment early this am. On the way back home the truck took me to Libby station and the BNSF. Only had the cell phone and doing pix with that is a real pain. Ya have to do full screen, no telephoto or the resulting image is blurry and sometime pixelated. On top of that, the smoke in the area diffused the sunlight so the camera took the 1st image very dark. Almost looked like night when it was 0900 in the am. I deleted the images or would have shown them to you.

Fires: From the pix below, we do not have many near us; Libby is just below the 'Kootenai National Forest' label. Map is about 30 Miles to an inch - so maybe 20/22 miles away. Idaho, Oregon and Washington have fires all over the place, probably because they do not clean out the forest floor removing the fuel although Idaho has started that, 2nd pix.

The last time I was at a Fuddruckers was probably around 1997 in Orem Utah, when we went there for lunch from work. That one is long gone. It was decent at the time but not worth the cost.

Now, I'll take In-N-Out burgers over any other burgers. I guess "Habit Burger Grill" took over the crown from In-N-Out in California, I read the other day. Not in my book. We have a Habit Burger Grill sharing the parking lot with In-N-Out. In-N-Out always have about 5x the business and I went to Habit once. It was ok but was a lot more expensive. They have more variety on their menu than does In-N-Out but for me it wasn't worth the greatly higher price and was not any tastier at all -- In-N-Out is tastier by far.

If you watch Good Mythical Morning on YouTube they have a spin-off called Mythical Kitchen, run by Mythical Josh, the chef for the show, who, with his kitchen crew, make all the foods used on Good Mythical Morning. The Mythical Kitchen YouTube channel has a series about "Last Meals". They invite famous people on and ask them that if they were going to die tomorrow, what would be there last meal. They then make it (or procure it) for them and present it while Mythical Josh and this famous person talk about life, the universe, and everything.

At least two of the guests wanted an In-N-Out burger as part of their last meal. Gordon Ramsay and Tom Hanks. (Post Malone wanted Raising Canes -- he has his "own" Raining Canes here in Utah that he helped do interior design on and has some of his mementos on display at). I have not seen any of the famous folks on there wanting other famous brands of burger.

(I used to watch Good Mythical Morning more but haven't seen more than one or two episodes in the past couple of years but I did watch a few of the last meal shows on Mythical Kitchen recently)
Well at least they don't ask them what would they like on their Tombstone 🤔😁

Back when I had motorcycles, I always wanted to take off for several weeks and ride the entire route from Chicago to California. It would of been really cool to see all the roadside attractions and stop at all the interesting ones that are still around.

Sadly I never accomplished that.
Not too late yet. I make a yearly trek from where i live (Pennsylvania) out west. Each time it's different and i'm about to leave for one this saturday...in a car of course.

Burgers...
My brother loved 5 guys. I--didn't. Sometimes I'd take him because it made him happy.
I think Jack in the box and in n out are about the same, as far as how it tastes to me..
I do like the flavor of BK and Hardees/Carl Jr, they broil the burgers. It's a little less bad for me, having the fat burned/drained off, rather than sitting in a puddle of grease cooking. I much rather making my own, for obvious reasons.

I told my children and now my grandchildren :-

Dream BIG dreams.
Write them down and have a date when to accomplish them.
Have pictures of what you want. Put them on the bedroom door to see them every morning.
DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO TAKE THE DREAM AWAY. Because people will try (even those close to you).

My son wouldn't do it. He gets by in life - just!
My daughter did do it. (and still does). She is wealthy; not just in money.
To each his (her) own. I like peace and quiet...but one of my dreams was to have a Porsche 911, the traditional air cooled model. Got into one back in 2000s. One thing off my bucket list.

Jack-In-The-Box: we had them in Arizona as a kid but moved back East and didn't have them. Moved to Utah a few times (intermittently moving back East or Germany in between) and have been in Utah about 22 years this time. Didn't have Jack-In-The-Box here either -- unless you were down in St George. I went to one in St. George and when visiting Arizona a few times. They were OK. Not any better than Wendy's or BK for me. They opened up some Jack-In-The-Box here in the valley in the last year. I've not been yet. Maybe I'll have to try them again.

I did like them for a breakfast on the go when I was in Arizona for a training course like 10 years ago. But that wasn't burgers.

I forgot to mention to our out of country friends, Tombstone is a frozen pizza brand available in our grocery store, but I'm not sure if they are everywhere in the US. They had an advertising campaign about 25 years ago or so, where they'd have say a firing squad lining up and the head soldier ask the convict what he'd want on his Tombstone, and the answer would always be something along the line of what I posted above (#1047).

Cant beat a Tombstone pizza!

Used to live on those in my poor college days.

Even forgot 1 in the oven after a late night out, and fell asleep on the couch waiting for it to get done. Set every smoke alarm off in the apartment. I was so bummed to waste a perfectly good Tombstone.

Any self-rising crust frozen pizza is not too bad, but I'm not a huge fan of pizza. Except for a fresh made New York style pizza with lots of meat, no Italian sausage please.

Years ago, when I was young, early 20s, I liked a place called the Venetian Place in Joppatowne, MD They had a meat sauce, more meat on top of meat. That was my kind of pizza! Yes, it had cheese too, hidden between the meat.

For breakfast outside of my home, I'll take a McDonalds sausage biscuit every time! No cheese, no egg, just sausage. It was my Mom's favorite too.

Three BBB's Bakery in Pasadena, MD used to be a great place for steak and eggs. The last time we went there even the toast was cold and the bakery items were stale. Nothing stays the same.
