Well howdy there internet subjects, and everyone who fell out of a coconut tree

It's troy again.

Got 3K words worded today. Did some laundry. Took the wife out to get her haircut and I headed to the craft store to get a few items for my orc army.

Then we hit 5-Guys hamburgers for lunch.

The gent at the counter taking our order was incredulous that we only wanted ketchup (me) on the burger or lettuce and cheese (wife). We'd had him take our order before, and he questioned us "are you sure that's all you want on it????" Last time I told him I didn't want a salad, I wanted a burger.

This time he asked again. But added, Not even Tomatoes?

"Nope. I don't like the texture of raw tomatoes."

He shook his head but put the order in.

While we were out, my furnace guys (actually the office girl) called me. Since I hadn't called in to schedule spring cleaning, they were getting around to calling everyone still MIA. (Yeah, I forgot, and assumed they'd call me. I was missinformed).

Today... about 1:30 ok?

Sure!

You might notice something missing... Yep, the squirrel died. They're out running around the neighborhood trying to catch one before the hawks get them all.

;)

In reality, they said the fan was getting dusty enough to clean off, so they took the hamster wheel out to spray off. Otherwise, they found a capacitor on the outside unit that was starting to fail. Yep, replace it. I like my AC. And Summer isn't over.

Fuddruckers closed years ago here as well. We had Jack in the Box here in the late 70's and early 80's but they are gone, as is Hardee's\Carl's Jr. Had them until the 80's, but the franchisee went belly up. About 10 years ago they started a comeback in the area, then that franchisee went out of business about 2 years ago. We did finally get a Culver's in the area.

All the good burger places have dried up around here. Fudruckers, Red Robin, Hardees, even the local Wendy's died. Pizza Hut went to carry out only after moving up the street, they bulldozed the PHut and it's now a 7-11.
Chilis and the Green Turtle are about the only thing left locally, and the wife's fav, Mission Bar-B-Q.

Good evening: 74°, and "Fair", though very humid. The rain missed us again, as it stayed to our NW and SE. It's a weird pattern this summer. Today's high was only 82°. Still dealing with nerve pain affecting parts of the face and head on the left side. Aging sucks!

Been a strange week for me....All of last weeks momentum is gone, for now.

Fuddruckers, only there once. In Virginia. Not surprised they went broke. Good riddance. Locally, we still have a lot of fast food places, none setting the world on fire either. The Virus wrecked a lot of business, Waiting for the dominoes to fall for even more.

Tried Fuddruckers once, never again. Absolutely horrible tasting food. Cheeseburger full of grease and no taste. Fries same thing, i couldn't even finish half of the meal.
It all comes down to who they have working. You can get poor service and poorly cooked food anywhere. If they don't have good people working. It all starts with the manager.

My youngest daughter's first job was at Fuddruckers we ate there a lot, years ago, it was always good. Now, I think all three Fuddruckers in Baltimore are closed.

Ugh!!! 5 Guys.
My oldest grandson and his dad love the Five Guys in Canton. It is their "go to" spot. They tell me the other Five guys they have tried are not as good as Canton.

I don't like to eat out. You never know if the food will be good, but you always know you will pay. I don't mind paying, but I don't want to pay for disappointing food.

For my Money I'll take McDonald's Quarter Pounder or Burger King's Whopper, hold the cheese. They are both consistent no matter where you go, and they don't cost a small fortune. Fries can be "hit or miss" no matter where you go. Since I found out I'm diabetic I don't order fries for me.

If I really want a great burger, I'll ask my wife to make her homemade burgers on the grill. That is the best burger in my book!

their burgers taste like they boiled them in water.
I've been known to boil frozen burgers. When I was single, after work I would put the frozen burgers in a pan of cold water and turn it on. Then I go take my shower. When I was done, I would turn over the burgers twice after the water was gone. Dinner was ready in minutes. My Dalmatian, Mickey and I loved them! If I were really hungry, I would add a couple of hotdogs to the pan. 😁 Old "McDog" and I always had peaceful, tasty meals. Neither one of us was fussy about what we ate.

The last time I was at a Fuddruckers was probably around 1997 in Orem Utah, when we went there for lunch from work. That one is long gone. It was decent at the time but not worth the cost.

Now, I'll take In-N-Out burgers over any other burgers. I guess "Habit Burger Grill" took over the crown from In-N-Out in California, I read the other day. Not in my book. We have a Habit Burger Grill sharing the parking lot with In-N-Out. In-N-Out always have about 5x the business and I went to Habit once. It was ok but was a lot more expensive. They have more variety on their menu than does In-N-Out but for me it wasn't worth the greatly higher price and was not any tastier at all -- In-N-Out is tastier by far.

-----

If you watch Good Mythical Morning on YouTube they have a spin-off called Mythical Kitchen, run by Mythical Josh, the chef for the show, who, with his kitchen crew, make all the foods used on Good Mythical Morning. The Mythical Kitchen YouTube channel has a series about "Last Meals". They invite famous people on and ask them that if they were going to die tomorrow, what would be there last meal. They then make it (or procure it) for them and present it while Mythical Josh and this famous person talk about life, the universe, and everything.

At least two of the guests wanted an In-N-Out burger as part of their last meal. Gordon Ramsay and Tom Hanks. (Post Malone wanted Raising Canes -- he has his "own" Raining Canes here in Utah that he helped do interior design on and has some of his mementos on display at). I have not seen any of the famous folks on there wanting other famous brands of burger.

(I used to watch Good Mythical Morning more but haven't seen more than one or two episodes in the past couple of years but I did watch a few of the last meal shows on Mythical Kitchen recently)
