Money order for the 4006 I sold finally arrived after five days from northern Alabama to Southern Illinois. Priority Mail isn't a priority to the post office. "You'll get it when we're darn good and ready for you to have it!" They should make that the new USPS motto.

Jerks.

I got that packed up and a UPS label printed for pickup tomorrow. No time for the trains this afternoon. I also paid my property taxes today...ouch. I can think of better ways of spending money than letting the local government piss it away.

My weight is down to 154.5 consistently now. Just a pound and a half to get to 153.

Eye appointment in the morning for the test results from last week. I already know how that's going to go.

Busy Monday here for me.

Well, it is official that August has been hot in Alabama. This is the 12th hottest August in Birmingham since 1895.
We have had 90 degrees or more for 30 of the 31 days and 88 of the one day we got 2.5 inches of rain.
I realize we are not the hottest place in the country, but that doesn't mean we have to like it. The lowest humidity day was only 58%.
I can appreciate my father's stories about living through summers in the 1930's without any air conditioning.

Well, howdy there internet peeps

It's troy again. preparing for the coffee shop thread to open as soon as Terry unlocks the door.

Got an appointment set for Wed afternoon with the Spine care side of the Ortho team. Nurse Practitioner PA person is who I'll see. At this stage, I just want a clear diagnosis and path forward.

Had an interesting massage today. I've never gone for one. The bed had a bend on it, but not at the hip area. Slightly lower down. Finally figured out that was supposed to be so they could run a pillow under my ankles and not have my feet over the edge. The "bed" was heated, with a heavy blanket as well as a sheet.

No, none of the Thailand style massage went on. This was about trying to loosen the muscles in my back and hips. She found a lot of areas that felt better after, but hurt while she worked on them.

Wife wanted Italian for supper, so we headed to the favorite place and got the good breadsticks. I limited myself to only one. Brought have of my ham & 2 types of salami sandwich home. Ate the salad there.

I was feeling better after the massage, but not a marked improvement. Took an extra 20 steps or so before I felt the need to sit and let the nerve calm down. After lunch, lied down for a nap with the cat. Woke up an hour later and had lost all that the massage had helped.

That's it for now. See you all at the new Coffee Shop

Good evening folks, hit 95 today. Sunny and if you like HOT it was gorgeous. LadyC took her car in for service and they did the LOF for free. Nice break. Her Tucson is her baby, I did good when I got it for her.
Got some train stuff in today, people and parts, nothing fancy. Got most of my minis done for the game convention in 2 days, just a couple more things to finish up. Especially the menu for my taco truck entry "Taco de Gato" an all organic place specializing in dishes like Armadillo Alfredo and Pollo Squasho. When it's done at the con it will go on a HO module.
See you all in the September Coffee Shop.

Good evening folks. Phone says it's currently 98. Tomorrow's forecast calls for either sunny and also 98, or rainy with a high of 85. I prefer the rain, we sure could use it.

Been slowly gathering parts and pieces for future projects and kit-bashing. The parts tote is becoming full, I guess I needed to start back on them soon...or just get a bigger tote.

Good Evening All. till clear and 98° here.

The Ross fire west of here in Palo Pinto County; about equidistant between me and WestexJohn, has grown to 80,000 acres with only 12% containment. Right now, the wind is blowing the smoke towards him and not me.

Had an interesting phone call earlier this evening. The electrocardiologist that I saw today called me. First time that I ever had a doctor himself call me at home, at 6:15 no less.

Gotta go now. See ya tomorrow.

Have time to get my last dig in for AUG. Weather has been nice and not so hot with all of the high overcast stuff. Could have created an oven, but surprisingly did not. My solar panel is outside now, trying to charge my car camera battery, but is struggling. It may not make it to float, but at least it will get some watt hours in.

We've a good size fire about 20 miles away. It's been burning for about 3 weeks and is over 10,000 acres. Our AQI @ 7pm is 166.
