Good Morning All!
57F @ 48% can see *some* stars. Smoke in Libby is a bunch thinner, Kalispell is another story.

Maria went in and came out of CathLab in a little over an hour yesterday afternoon. Found one blockage. They did not 'stint' her, nor did they 'roto-root' and decided that meds would take care of it. Went in through her right wrist so that will be sore for a bit. Don't remember the drug they gave her but it allowed her to be awake with the 'what ever' attitude. Pretty loopy when she came back in to the room. She ordered dinner 3 times using the phone system. I left before she got it, so no clue of what showed up. Still a cardio patient, so lacking in some things. Off to get her a little later today - supposed to be noonish. Our animals have been pretty much nose in the dirt as they seem to know something is/was wrong. Will be good to see them back to being them.

I get to go for the 1st Jury Duty interview this morning. Talked with them yesterday before I left about it. Told the girl I wanted to serve, but have some issues and thought I could work around them. Also told her I was 73Yo and have never been called and was one that would try ( almost ) anything once because it sounds interesting. She said that she went through the same thing when she was 60 and yes, it is interesting once. No clue of what case or type of case, but not City or County - so District Court. We will see ifn this old fart can make it through the interrogation.

Thank-you for all the well wishes!

2007 Honda Fit
Missed this the first time around. I had one as well. 1.5L. Neat little car, a bit under powered, but a lot of space inside. Paddle shifters. Added some sound deadening all over and sound system. I also added a JDM spec center console as it had an arm rest and cubby hole. I had to fly back to Japan to pick up the wife and kids that I had to leave behind so that she could get her green card as it was a sudden requirement to move. But, I was able to get the center console from Honda and I forget if I carried it on the plane or mailed it back. Was a long time ago.

But, while I was in SD, I got the apartment, car, household goods stuff all moved in, so impact and shock for the wife and kids was reduced as much as possible for a move to a foreign land for them.

These meteorologists down here need some refresher courses in weather chart interpretation and forecasting. Keep your eye on the sky today.

ctclibby: Good to know it wasn't an extreme emergency. Hope she's feeling better.

Good morning folks. Another soaker out there, and I don't mean rain. I won't even mention the figures like I do every morning. It's just a repeat of the last 10 days. 39 days until Autumn, 38 days until Oktoberfest.

Worked on one of my best HOm locomotives that was running very poorly yesterday afternoon. Thoroughly cleaned both bogies, cleaned and polished wheel treads and backsides, and the pickups, and re-oiled/re-greased. Runs like new now.

I have another I'm going to pull for the same service after lunch today.

Have a safe day in this heat if you are south of I-70.

Servus!

Good Morning All. Clear and a very warmish 80° this morning. 102° is the forecast high today, reached 101° yesterday. The semi-permanent heat advisory continues. This looks like our weather pattern for the rest of August, although it may drop to 76° on Sunday night. 12-20 days of triple digits a year is average for us and I think that I have recorded 10 so far this summer, including that 110° on both 7/31 and 8/7. Remember though, it's a dry heat and the THI is not a factor.

The visit yesterday to the Primary Care Physician yesterday, was uneventful but long. It was a combined visit for wife and me and lasted over an hour, not including labs. Waiting room was overflowing when we left from the backup. But some of them were there to see his partner, an Obstetrician. Dollar General on the way back home. Yesterday was going to be my wife's night to prepare supper, so we went out instead to our local favorite Italian place.
Being gone for 2.5 hours cut into task time but I did manage the dishwasher. Today is catch-up with probably two loads of laundry. Tomorrow I start the medical odyssey early with the 8:00 epidural for the spinal stenosis. From there it's off to do the weekly grocery trek. There's not supposed to be any down time from the injection.

Saturday's forum behavior wasn't good, Sunday and Monday were fine, yesterday was horrendous all afternoon. I gave up, although I tried again in the evening and got on. Today is spotty and it may be a while before I am able to post this. I usually review posts from the previous day and return some comments, but that quit working this morning.
Therefore an incomplete post this morning while I step away. Won't even attempt to post any pictures.
As suspected, this didn't post the first time, so I will try again.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with vehicular memories

It's Troy again.

Not a good morning for the sciatica. to cheer you all up, here's another Troy as Amish Bishop image:

Amish 1.jpg

Made a short grocery run this morning, and ended up leaving the list in the car. Still figured it out and even got a few more "Was this on the list? I probably need it..."

No, I didn't go down the beer aisle... but, according to my wife, Amish do like beer. ;)

Had a problem with my iPad this morning. Wouldn't connect to the internet. Neither over wifi or the cellular network. Finally tracked it down to Nord VPN. I leave it running on the iPad, but only use it on the laptop when traveling. Even after I updated the Nord App on the iPad, it still wouldn't connect. So I uninstalled the app.

I'll reinstall it later.

Oh, and I found a book in the Conrad Grebel University library that I need to find the final pieces of my Ancestry document search. But it's in their mennonite archives which they don't loan out. So, wife and I may be making a trip to Waterloo Ontario in Sept.

I need to do some stretching and get back to taking my pain pills. Was going to costco, but it's too painful to do the walking that far.

Good morning from a politically stunned Wisconsin. I truly feel polling companies should be banned. Another election they completely whiffed on. So misleading

Weather, just made it to 70f degrees heading to 85. The smoke from somewhere is strong this morning at AQI of 97. If we go to the normal Wednesday farmers markets Terry will need to wear a mask and use her portable oxygen. The smoke is supposed to clear this afternoon. Hopeful that occurs.

I did post yesterday between outages but it’s not here so:

I’ve never changed my own car oil. I have changed oil in lawn equipment but for what car oil changes cost I never saw the justification to learn to do my own

VW’s and Audi’s. I have had since 2000 8 VW’s all new at purchase. A Rabbit, 2 Golf’s, a Passat and 4 Jettas. I have had 2 Audi’s, a Q5 and a SQ5. I have had absolutely no issues (except being stolen) with any of them. The 2 Golf’s were passed on to the son and other than rats in Austin eating his wiring one night behind a club he was playing at he had no issues either. I currently drive a Jetta R series!

Medical this afternoon is with the Podiatrist as my Neuropathy is becoming more pronounced. I guess I’m going to have to learn how to wear socks again. My doctors have told me for years to wear them and while I usually follow orders I can’t handle wearing socks

Have a great day

Super happy for you and Maria

Good morning all!

We will see if the forum behaves and lets this post. All kinds of issues earlier.

Looks like the chaios is over for now. Shortly after I posted the phones and the city sirens went nuts and told us doom was on the way. We
did get some severe weather here but not all that bad. It was 7 or so miles south that got hit hard. We had heavy rain and some pretty good straight line winds but it lasted all of about 15 minutes and moved on. Lights didn't even flicker. Now its just a light steady rain.

Currently is 68F and the high will top out around 80F. Supposed to become partly sunny around 11am. Still probably wont be able to mow today
since it is really wet. So far I have another 1.2 in the gauge but a lot of it was a sideways rain similar to yesterday.

Have some laundry going and I have to run my daughter at 10:30 for her 6 month dental check up. I'm sure a few other things will crop up.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good morning folks, 88 here heading for 99. Church tonight, my last regular Wednesday Night service until December as next week we start a video course that takes 3 hours each week. Great course, 6 semesters long. I did it some 20 years ago and am now the coordinator for this one. Plan for this afternoon is to get the black wash on the cobblestone streeting on the second module and work on the magnet/wssher system for attaching the backdrop.
Tom great news on your Missus.
You guys have a great day.

Morning All! 78 in the Brew City this morning, going to 84. Gotta mow again! Still not out of this twice a week mowing thing, though I guess its balancing out from that long dry spell. 🤷‍♀️ I got my shipping notification for my GGD SP passenger cars at long last! Seems like it took forever for those! I have lunch with a couple of club members in a little bit, and then I have to stop by the LHS for Tamiya masking tape. All this passenger car painting has used up my stash. Have a great day!

What's interesting is
I found the entire thing to be interesting, thank you.

The part I found to be most interesting or should I say baffling - the lighter weight oil was specified for the Flexible Service/Long Life schedule, (30000km/18500 miles or 2 years.) I would have thought the opposite.
stay away from VW
I know you were joking, but if money were no object, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy any German car.

I owned one BMW, a 528e. A friend of mine owned the dealership, and the car had been used as a loaner. I got a deal that was too good to pass up. By the time I let it go, it had over 300,000 miles on it. Circumstances in my life changed drastically, and I couldn’t afford another great BMW deal. I’ve been a Chevy guy ever since.
Amish do like beer
Who doesn't like beer... never mind.
