Good morning folks. 82°F/75°F so far this morning. We expect heat indices above 105°F for the next three days and no rain until Wednesday. Not even a chance shower.

Train room session went well yesterday. No surprises. My ÖBB Rh 2070 was a little iffy at first but it smoothed out after a couple of laps. I still hate the design that Jägerndorfer used for the pickups on this locomotive.

Nothing happening here today. I'm going to park my butt in front of the television after lunch and see if I can catch a movie I haven't already watched.

Have a great Sunday.

Servus!

I find the hardest part of changing the oil in our Equinox is getting back up off the driveway. 🤪

Oil filters for my car are in short supply. I normally use the Fram Ultra Synthetic, 20,000-mile, XG12060 - All three different Fram filters (XG12060, plus the other two Fram (ACDelco PF64‑equivalents) TG12060 and PH12060) for my car are out of stock at Amazon and Walmart.

I used a Walmart Super Tech ST12060 brand last time - now out of stock. I found a Purolator PL11403 at Amazon, not as good as the Fram Ultra Synthetic I like, but just as expensive. OE GM 12640445 filters and other premium brands like WIX WL10290XP are too expensive for me, I am cheap.

I don't like anyone changing my oil, I know I won't strip the drain plug. I only use Full Synthetic 20000-mile oils, and I can have the oil changed before I could drive to the shop. It typically cost me under $30 to change my own oil using premium synthetic oil and filter. Plus, I get to look under my car every 5000 miles.

At my next oil change I will have 220,000 miles on my Equinox. Hot oil pressure is 28psi, I must be doing something right.
I watched the oil change person walk out of the shop. walk over to the shelf in the store, and pick it up off the shelf, walk back out, and put it on my car.
"In Stock" may actually mean Walmart's Super Tech brand which retail for 50%-70% below other brands.

I have a copy of the RO that shows
Mobil One filter part number 007192421433 -1
Mobil One filter part number 007192421433 +1.

Exactly - Not Walmart's Super Tech brand.

Not that it matters; that part number (007192421433) looks like a Walmart stock number. A Mobil One oil filter is generally a part number like, M1-114A
only included "in stock" items
I suggested "in stock" only refers to Walmart's Super Tech brand. I have no clue, just a guess.

I gave up on Bar Mills sending me the missing parts & graphics after 2 weeks, with no response to my request. I actually sent the request to 3 email addresses I had. This will be my last rant since I won't buy from them again. It's too bad because they do have nice kits.

They have a problem now with their website that's been going on for over a month. I checked their Facebook page and a lot of people (besides me) are getting blocked because their site is considered a phishing scam. They keep putting out new kits and giving apologies for their issues. How about putting a process in place that uses a check list to ensure there are no missing parts. Rant over.

I was able to modify the last structure (#3) in the kit using stuff I had in my junk box. Like I said they do have good products if everything is included to build them.

It's done for another 5k miles. Anything can happen in that length of time and mileage. BTW, my car is supposed to only need an oil change every 10k. And the oil is 0W16. So, not just "no" on that interval, but "Hell No".

Sciatica/Piriformis doing better today after switching to alternating Advil/Tylenol every 3 hours.

It's not great, but better than yesterday, and MUCH better than last night.

i'm back in the recliner with a small pillow to cushion the leg against the chair arm. I've got the leg cocked so I don't set the lap desk on it to create a pressure point. Sitting comfortably (more or less) in the recliner is a major milestone with this. Hopefully it holds.

Did some sitting at the hobby desk, putting together some of the bigger Little Toy Soldiers. Now I'm in the mood for a nap.

@troyphoto glad to hear the hip is better. May you get some rest tonight.
Great day at Church, now home and relaxing, listening to the Cardinals v Rockies, Cards up 4-1. Gonna try to do some more culling of the excess N scale stuff tonight. Then cull some of the HO stuff. My G'nephew Lucas informed me today he and his pal had burned up the last of his .22 ammo, subtle hint. 😁

Had a great breakfast this morning and then Terry mentioned the patio furniture again! Good thing we were at a restaurant. So I calmly (barely) asked why the big deal about furniture you might sit on 2-3 times a Summer. It’s on sale at Kohl’s 40% off and she’ll get Kohl’s cash. Oh boy, Kohl’s cash, why absolutely let’s spend money for an addictive scam.

Anyway, the new pergola under the trees needs furniture because we don’t have any for it and I’ve used it twice in 2 weeks. I have 2 sports chairs in the trunk of the car for the grandson’s soccer games I used. Ok, buy for the pergola patio! While looking at patio stuff including a propane powered fire pit I saw 2 swivel lounge chairs. Those will fit on the 8 x 12’ deck nicely. Ordered those! I still did not replace the 2 chairs and the love seat currently on the south side that she wants to replace.

I completed 1 Aspen tree today and I’m not sure I like it

Glad to see my wife isn't the only one who justifies spending money there to get Kohl's cash only to turn around and spend more money to spend the Kohl's cash.

I swear they have it rigged. She wont use the percent coupon unless its 40%. Guess what's under the sticker every time we get a mailer.

Tree looks great!

What kind of Bier?

Evening folks, I hope your weekend was pleasant. 77 in the Brew City this evening. Currently sunny but with rain forecast all week. Glad I mowed yesterday! Updates: The new HVAC system went in uneventfully. I had a mild two days to wait for AC again, so it wasn't too bad all things considered. The young fellow who did it (he had a helper on day one) got everything finished up before lunch on the second day. I got a good discount, and will get an additional 1% cash back for putting it on my Costco Visa. Two funnies: 1: The Furnace test set off the smoke detectors due to the oils and such burning off, and we had to open up doors and windows to clear out the house. 2: He set the AC on 70 to make sure it cooled properly. I paid the bill and he left. A couple hours later the wife changed from shorts to blue jeans, and it was getting to feel like you could hang beef in the house. Turns out he left it on 70. I've been keeping it on 74. They downsized the breaker from 30 amp to 20 amp due to the higher efficiency of the new system. I'll be curious to see the new electric bill.

I got the new RPO Baggage apart and through the blasting booth today. It's drying out downstairs, the usual 24 hour wait for stray water drops to go away after blowing everything off. I will prime with light gray tomorrow. I'll be re-starting the O'Neil's build this week. It took several days to round everything up I'll need and find everything that had been put away. I finally got everything together today and moved to the upstairs workshop. There will be a new thread for that project to keep things separate so followers won't have to sort through things they may not be interested in. I'll post what was previously done before I put the project down in 2021. Between the job and the cancer, I had to step back from modeling all together and concentrate on licking the beast. Besides, a craftsman kit like that one is too demanding to do when you aren't feeling your best!

I hope you all have a relatively painless Monday!

My fellow travelers got the bright idea to go to a charity event at the Stellantis Jeep Manufacturing Plant in northern Toledo to have our Jeeps photographed at the Jeep logo on site. Between getting there from I80, taking the Jeeps off the trailers, photos, and getting the Jeeps strapped back down it added about two hours to the travel day. Of course, the delay got us caught in blinding torrential downpours from Elkhart IN to the IL border. In the end we made it to Joliet for the night. Turned into a 13 hour day instead of about 9.

Camera is still in the truck so pictures will have to wait.

Didn't get to photograph the WAMX EMD switching car haulers, it was gone before I had a chance to get the camera out.
