FYI, there is a huge difference between food trucks and roach coaches. Food trucks make most stuff on-site, and roach coaches otherwise known as catering trucks, just have prepackaged mass-produced stuff that’s usually barely edible— depending on your definition of “edible”.

Good evening, Afternoon, Morning, whichever the case may be.

Well, we went to Durango Colorado this morning and when we left it was sprinkling. At Durango, it was raining but it had slowed down enough to get some pictures of the departing morning train.

It's been over 40 years since I was here last and lots of things have changed. The railroad is basically as it always has but the surrounding area sure has grown.

Anyway, here are some pictures of Durango depot and the morning train before it departed. Some day I'll get back here and take the train again up to Silverton. Years back, the Rocky Mountain Railroad Club had their own excursion train for the whole day and that was fun. The train would stop let people off, back up and then everyone would make a line so everyone could get a picture and everyone kept quite in case someone was taking a VHS recording of the run by (people just are not that kind any more for some reason). Then the train would come by full steam ahead and when it went by it would slow down stop, back up, and we would all pile on and go to the next spot. Miss those days, it was really fun, and people respected each other and each other's stuff left on the train for a run by.

Here are some pictures.

Good evening y'all. Just checking in. There is a lot of activity here, 6 pages since I posted last night. I cannot keep up any longer.

Going to have a cool overnight, with temperatures in the 50s, and tomorrow's high will be in the upper 70s. Last big shore weekend of the season coming up.

That's absolutely correct. No telling how old the stuff was on the old-fashioned roach coaches. Our company eventually banned catering trucks from the property around 2006 or 2007. While the Mexican food truck was mostly Mexican food, they would make a hamburger, corned dog or hot links on the spot. Even had ice cream in the summer.

Its a food stand and I suspect that Home Depot has some sort of deal with some company, who has "franchisees" in areas to set the stands up, as I've seen similar ones at lots of different Home Depot places.
I believe you are right. We have a permanent food stand at our local Home Depot. I've never bought anything, but when it is open they always have a line.

Photos contain zero calories, and are cholesterol free.
Which is why I love them!

Yep. I prefer sweater weather/autumn to hot muggy summer.
I used to love any weather. Now the hot humid weather doesn't like me, and my body lets me know it. Very chilly weather is no better.

I said the heck with this. I cut off the end of the harness, brought the plug inside and wired up a new 24 ft length of trailer harness. I don't know what the prior owner, and some of the folks that I have lent it to over the years have done, or why
There is not much worse than to follow behind someone else's wiring work. You did the right thing.

Your ordeal brings back nightmares of the International 9670. If anyone has ever taken a dashboard apart on a 9670 you will know what I mean.

You're making me miss Baltimore.
It could be me, but Pollock Johnny's doesn't seem to be the same as they used to be. Park Sausages used to make them for Pollock Johnny's I don't know where they come from now. But they are still good.

I tried Johnsonville's Polish sausage; I like them even better! Their Kielbasa links are essentially the same thing. What they call them depends on where you buy them, it's all about marketing.

Kielbasa is the Polish word for any sausage. There are many varieties of authentic Polish kielbasa.

American "Polish sausage/kielbasa” refers to one specific style of kielbasa. Typically, smoked pork (or pork/beef) link seasoned with garlic, pepper, and sometimes marjoram. The flavor is milder and more standardized than the wide range of authentic Polish kielbasa varieties.

If you want authentic Polish kielbasa; Ostroski's of Bank Street in Fells point is your place to go. They now sell in stores, but I don't know of any stores north of Aberdeen. I'd bet there is a place to buy authentic Polish kielbasa near you. Thank God for Polish immigrants, they are everywhere!

If you are looking for something reminiscent of the old Pollock Johnny's, try Johnsonville. I love them!

Here are some pictures.
I am enjoying all the photos you have shared, thank you!

I cannot keep up any longer.
That makes two of us.

This was my lame attempt to catch up. It's not easy, the commercial breaks during the Birds' game are all the time I have. Forgive me if I missed anyone.

Morning all,

55° and cloudy this morning, with rain moving in later. High of 68° expected.

Got some programming work done for our network switches. We're adding 2 VLANs (Virtual Local Area Network) and a new building switch to our network. I probably could have done it, but by having the original company programming them, I minimize my mistakes and have someone to call if there are issues. I just have to upload the new configs to the switches and reboot. We're growing faster than I'd like, but it is job security. I have a couple of weeks longer than Karl before I can retire, but planning to go to 70.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those who love to smoke sausages!

It's troy again....

Today's weather:

Yes, that's 7 degrees for those of you in C-landia!

Slept like a baby last night. Windows open with a fan pulling the air through the bedrooms. Got up for the 2:30 pee run, and added an afghan to the bed to get warmer.

It won't last. We'll have another 7-10 days of hot and muggy in September.

As for sausages, I won't be smoking any today.
Wife requested Meatloaf. It's in the freezer, ready to go on the Kamado later today.

Hope to get the shelves cut for my fiddle yard extensions today. I do need to hit the lumberyard if I cut and set up an extension for both decks. I only have enough lumber for one deck.

Not sure what else today will bring. I'll keep you updated.

Good Morning All. Mostly cloudy and 68°, second day in a row that the temperature has dipped into the 60's. Back in the normal range today and tomorrow, then chilly again. Roller coaster next week, but the tide has turned. Pool temperature was 88° on Monday, yesterday it dropped to 82°. That's OK if it is sunny, but tomorrow is the only sunny day in the 10 day forecast.

Woke up feeling terrible this morning, so we'll see what the day brings. Might have overdone it with general yardwork yesterday. Took too much advantage of the cooler weather. Physical therapy again this afternoon.
As I posted, yesterday was filled with yard tasks, did laundry as well. Had an unexpected visitor in the late afternoon which kept me from the train shed. So no progress there. Hope to make it up today.

Kevin - Interesting sign (and procedure) from the prison.
Marlin (David) - Fall garden starting off great. It's too soon for me and I am probably going to skip it this year.

It's a state holiday here in Texas today, Lyndon B. Johnson Day. Honoring LBJ of course.
Everyone have a great Wednesday.

I'd bet there is a place to buy authentic Polish kielbasa near you. Thank God for Polish immigrants, they are everywhere!
ShopRite sells fresh kielbasa, their World Class Brand. World Class is located near the B&O Bridge over the Corridor near the Elizabeth - Linden border. Employs immigrants from Poland. Good - in fact better than Wyshinski's in Frankford (Philly).
There is no better. There are numerous brands of smoked polish sausage available. Used to be a store near Browns Yard that made it fresh also. Lots of Poles in Jersey.
