Didn't sleep much last night, last week, I don't remember too tired. 10mg melatonin and finally dozed at 11. Got up a 2 to go pee, tried to go back to sleep and gave up at 245. Watched my ipad until 450, slept till 745.

Coffee slowly infiltrating the body. Will be investigating the horrible sewer smell in the downstairs bathroom sink. Japan uses s-traps and I believe a vacuum trap vice a vent. Since we run a 24 hour fan that pulls air out of the house, it is causing a vacuum in the house. What I think is happening is that it is pulling air through the s-trap from the sewer.

All of the outgoing fans in the house (bathrooms, range hood, rooms) have flaps that act as one-way valves. I closed the only intake a long time ago since we put shelves there and it caused all kinds of mold since it didn't have a baffle.

What I'm thinking is to get a deeper s-trap that can hold more water. Am open to ideas.

The house manufacturer sent a guy that may as well have been the welcome desk guy out to investigate and he didn't do squat. Couldn't even answer my questions about the vacuum trap that I had a picture of when the house was being built.
You kinda, sorta, want to be careful about hydrogen sulfide gas backing into the house from the drain.

Probably the simplest solution would be a rubber or cork drain plug in the bathroom sink drain. Does it have one of those weird vents cast into the top of the sink?

Here are a few pictures of the rolling stock at chama. Love the caboose(s) ...... cabeese?😁

Exactly my concern.

I extended the sink trap about an inch as it is a 3 piece design and have the sink stoppered and the vent/overflow hole plugged to see if my theory is correct. If not, then I have no idea. Solution may be to uncork the house and let some hot humid air in.

Edit: update, just checked my work and the smell is gone, so it is the sink trap allowing sewer air in. Now I have something to work with.

Not going to disagree. Food trucks here are like in Austin, Texas, every other corner and are the best food.

The 1st time we visited Austin after the son moved there, his advice was, try any food truck and u won’t regret it. 2nd thing he said if people are selling Mex food and you don’t see the truck don’t buy it.

We were a few days later in the parking lot at a Home Depot, just Terry and me. The lady came up to us selling tamales in the husk. I said no as I saw no truck. The son’s advice now is, if a lady in the parking lot at Home Depot is selling tamales, buy them!
Truth, bruh. My girlfriend got some great tamales in a Walmart parking lot in San Jose when we were visiting her parents back in November last year. I always try to keep an eye out for food trucks near me. Mexican street tacos are the GOAT food truck food.

Good morning, Everybody!

I'm four pages behind again! Other than working a few hours each morning and watching baseball I have slept through four pages of the coffee shop. God willing, I will catch up before the month is over.

I haven't made any progress on my to-do list. I'm not going to worry about things beyond my control. I'm still alive, if I stay alive, I have a chance to do better.

On the bright side I already have the O72 track ready to go for the Christmas train. I got it ready to test my new (to me) MTH GG1. All I must do is put away the MTH GG1 and put the Lionel Christmas Zephyr on the track and it is ready to run. I'm all but guaranteed one Christmas train.

Enjoy your day!

Thank you. Noted for the October/November trip here. Not doing any driving tomorrow. Loves lots of cheese on a pizz
Took me a while to remember this place. But if you get down to Long Beach area in your next trip, there is a localish chain with decent Chicago style pizza. there are a few locations. Unfortunately, the once near the UCLA campus that we could take the Expo line train to closed prior to when we left in 2020. But there are other locations. Long Beach, IIRC, is on you list of want to visits

Good morning. It's cloudy and 76.

I have an interesting problem. I purchased a Micro$oft device yesterday, and since it was kind of pricey, I decided to register my purchase with them for warranty. I provided the store receipt where I bought it as proof of purchase.
MS has responded, demanding a copy of my E-invoice, instead of a receipt.I guess an E-invoice might be common in some parts of the world, I don't think I've ever seen one, through thousands of purchases. Sounds more like an excuse to prevent themselves from being on the hook if it fails.

I need like 3 of these Trex fascia boards in my color to finish my back doorstep deck project. Look how much a money they are per board. $149,60 for a 1 X 11 X 12ft board. If I buy them in white their half the price. $64.00. No time for any work on the deck today, doctor then golf Swal

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those wondering what Terry purchased this time. ;)

It's Troy again. According to Yankee Dabbler, my Bar Mills kit is out for delivery today. I've got some work to do on the layout before I feel inclined to build the kit mentioned in post

I want to convert it to a grist mill based on Bonneyville Mill Park's mill. I've downloaded the STL files to 3D print a water wheel for the conversion. But first, I need to build the shelf extension for the upper deck fiddle yard. The mill will be in the no-mans land behind where the interchange track to get to the fiddle yard merges into the main layout's upper deck. I figure the tough-to-reach corner is better suited for a nice scene than trackage.

As for sleep, I got almost 7 hours last night. After two short naps (longest was about 45 minutes). That was because I only got about 3-4 hours of sleep sunday night.

Need to finish the doors in my bathroom, and the master bedroom's closet. Just need to drill the latch holes in the frames, paint the frames and touch up the doors. That should be enough "real work" for the day.

Good morning all!

Another beautiful day. Currently 49F heading up to a high of 73F. Looks to be a mostly sunny day with no forecasted precipitation.

First volleyball game tonight. It is an away game so travel and dinner out. Its only about 30 min away, so not to bad.

A few minor things to get done around the house this morning.

In the train room last night I finally have finished base coating the rest of the mountains that are complete. I will try to get some
photos up on the build thread. I failed to take the phone down with me last nigh. Running a few trains was on the agenda as
well.

Coffee time!

Have a safe day everyone!
