You guys don't really need to post photos of your pizza, briskets, burgers, etc. This isn't FaceBook.

Some of us are trying to manage our diets and y'all aren't helping.

---------

Go ahead and post. Some of us need to live vicariously.
I would never post food pictures on FB. I belong to a FB foodie page in Madison back home. Pictures and comments from the 45,000 members there really spark some interesting savage commentary. I don’t join in

A touch burnt is fine. I will send u my sister’s address please ship one ASAP overnight. I don’t mean to argue but someone anyone, even a New Yorker please teach California what real pizzas are

No lunch today, still recovering from breakfast. I told the niece I don’t care where they want to go for dinner just no Indian food this time. I also mentioned I’m not the billionaire uncle, I was the uncle working for him. Sometimes the niece goes overboard when I buy dinner, it was a reminder she’ll probably ignore

You're in SoCal. The best food is from the taco truck with all the landscapers lining up to order.......and it won't break the bank.

Not going to disagree. Food trucks here are like in Austin, Texas, every other corner and are the best food.

The 1st time we visited Austin after the son moved there, his advice was, try any food truck and u won’t regret it. 2nd thing he said if people are selling Mex food and you don’t see the truck don’t buy it.

We were a few days later in the parking lot at a Home Depot, just Terry and me. The lady came up to us selling tamales in the husk. I said no as I saw no truck. The son’s advice now is, if a lady in the parking lot at Home Depot is selling tamales, buy them!

If you can get to Santa Monica, Earth Wind and Flour has good pizza. It was our favorite place out there for, as my wife called it, "Gooey Pizza" based on the cheese volume.

Back when we lived in the Sierras one of the employees where Nicki worked made tamales. She took your order the week before and brought them in the next week. She only sold them by the dozen. There were none finer. Unfortunately there were no taco trucks when we lived there, but there were several hot dog carts in convenient locations around the town.

On another road trip to Colorado area (southern) and went to Chama, NM and took some video of the engine coming into town.

First video is of my wife taking a video of the engine coming in and you see me recording the same action. The second video is the version I took.
No train Mondays, it's a work day for the railroad and so this engine I think is coming back from doing some sort of maintenance check on the line. They said there was also a track crew out on the line some where also.

Took many pictures of the chama rail yard and cars, engines, etc. Nice way to spend a Monday morning.

Tomorrow, going to Durango, so we'll see what we can do for some video of the railroad there also.

I had to run to Costco and pick up the dog's meds. I also found something for me.🥳

If that is really the Bier that Hofbräu serves at their tent, you have a real treat there. They don't export a lot of that, it's difficult to get around here. The last time I had real Oktoberfest Festbier must have been around 2008-09.

Enjoy it and have one for me!

Delivery driver showed up at 1430 with my water heater and I had it installed by 1630. Had to make the requisite run to the farm store for a couple of new plumbing fittings, that fortunately they had in stock. And they didn't include any wire nuts, so I needed a pack of 10ga nuts.

My able-bodied nephew was kind enough to help me get the old one out and the new one down the basement stairs.

Working well, water hot as all get-out.

Hi folks, been a slow Monday spent most of the day in bed due to a split in a surgical scar on my tailbone. Anyway life has a funny way of smacking you in the face right when you don't need it. long story short my landlord is being a baby and because I don't wanna a roommate wants to make me pay full rent which aparently he cant do due to BDDS (services for people with mental issues) so when my lease expires next year they are wanting me to find a new place to live so train layouts are on pause right now. BUT on a good note looking at doing some cash under the table work for some friends so I can start saving money. which is the hardest thing for me lol

I never saw tamales in the HD parking lot, but right next to out HD is a Lowes , which has an awesome hot dog/sausage/polock Johnnys layout just inside the one exit . Sometimes I get stuff at HD, then go next door to Lowes to get lunch! 2 polock Johnnys with onion and mustard, and maybe Kraut!

After a day at work I started to try to figure out my trailer. After trying to diagnose the re-arrangement and changing of wire colors I said the heck with this. I cut off the end of the harness, brought the plug inside and wired up a new 24 ft length of trailer harness. I don't know what the prior owner, and some of the folks that I have lent it to over the years have done, or why. Tomorrow night, the remake starts. A 4 wire harness should not be so tough! To make matters worse, I grabbed one wheel to help me get up and heard a thunk. Pushing on the left wheel revealed a loose rim. About half a turn on the lug nuts fixed that. That's it. Dad's trailer goes no where unless my truck pulls it with me driving!!

The picture above is from an article by Denise Boose of Tehachapi, Ca

We were past the one I saw before I realized what it was. I believe it was on the very end of the station platform in Paso Robles, or Similar Valley, Ca. The Southern Pacific cement telephone booths the crews used. I have 2 still in the package from the 70’s when I was collecting SP steam and I built an engine terminal to display the SP fleet I had. I loved the cab forwards
That wasn't my first guess... haha

same in Hawaii. The city kinda doesn't allow it, but if the trucks rotate, then they aren't really parking there for long periods. They have a schedule...

Didn't sleep much last night, last week, I don't remember too tired. 10mg melatonin and finally dozed at 11. Got up a 2 to go pee, tried to go back to sleep and gave up at 245. Watched my ipad until 450, slept till 745.

Coffee slowly infiltrating the body. Will be investigating the horrible sewer smell in the downstairs bathroom sink. Japan uses s-traps and I believe a vacuum trap vice a vent. Since we run a 24 hour fan that pulls air out of the house, it is causing a vacuum in the house. What I think is happening is that it is pulling air through the s-trap from the sewer.

All of the outgoing fans in the house (bathrooms, range hood, rooms) have flaps that act as one-way valves. I closed the only intake a long time ago since we put shelves there and it caused all kinds of mold since it didn't have a baffle.

What I'm thinking is to get a deeper s-trap that can hold more water. Am open to ideas.

The house manufacturer sent a guy that may as well have been the welcome desk guy out to investigate and he didn't do squat. Couldn't even answer my questions about the vacuum trap that I had a picture of when the house was being built.
