If I'm understanding this, if I have a loco with address 3985, make the passenger cars 3985 as well and tie the cabin lights to a function that 3985 isn't using and tie the tail lamp to F0 to come on with the loco's lights.

Since I made all my passenger cars the same address, can I just leave them all on the track and program them all at the same time?
Probably will work to program them at the same time. Depends on your programmer/ control center. If it tries to confirm it with them and gets 10 answers…. So if you get an error it didn’t work try them anyway. They probably got programmed but the programmer missed the verification reply.

I’ve programmed multiple motor and function decoders at once before.

Chad is mentioning V2???

A time long gone here in the U.K a V2 was a rocket that had landed before you heard it. If you heard it you were okay. If you didn't you were not.
That was the V1. You didn’t hear the V2. The V2 was the pointy rocket 🚀 looking one and was pretty much silent on its return to earth. The V1 was the noisy pulse jet powered glide bomb looking thing. The one the Spitfires and other planes would wipe out by tipping them over and disrupting their guidance.

My V2 was something else. (Version 2).

@Kusojiji Here is anotehr one from the other forum. This one specifically one for lights: https://github.com/madsing98/DCCLight1616

And another one. This is the one I actually bought stuff for but did not get around to it (yet): https://www.lydo.nl/hobby/diy-dcc/dcc-diy-function-decoder/

If people are wondering about the light board I was talking about, this is the link. I designed to versions and had raw boards made for them. They are N scale though you could make an H0 version of it easily.

Oh You heard the V2 alright. (If you were lucky) BOOOOOM!!!
The V1 sounded like a motorbike. When the sound stopped, take cover.

Mornin' folks, just barely. It's 90F and 61% on the patio today. Supposed to not get much hotter than this, but we'll see. Rain chances have disappeared for the moment; they were there an hour ago, set for 4PM, but now they're gone.

Still feeling meh. Don't feel like doing anything.

@santafewillie : Yup, just wetted things down here too. Fortunately, I just learned that they moved us out of the "water one day a week" drought restrictions, so now I can water two days a week, so perhaps my grass won't go dormant early this year.

Have a good day, folks.

The Buzzbomb would make noise until it ran out of fuel, then would crash. It was the world's first "guided" missile, its guidance consisted of pointing it at England, and lighting the fuse.
and you could see them. If they ran out of fuel and my grandmother saw it, she would grab hold of her two daughters, push them to the ground and lie on them until it was all over. My Aunts got used to it and would lie down together before grandmother touched them. (They were young teenagers at the time.)

Good afternoon all,

78 and sunny, light breeze.

At my volunteer job at the History Center. Usually fairly quiet here, some visiting with the other volunteers and taking money, answering questions. Here 1230 to 300.

This morning I got my fence up on the layout, painted, need a water tank and maybe a lean-to to make the scene better.

Later, Dave LASM

Last night when I went out to walk at 10:30pm it was still 82F, and only 81F when I got back an hour later. But some clouds have rolled in and while there are occasional blue patches and its not super dense, it was only 80F at 10am, 82-84F at 11:30, and not at 1pm it is 87F. Yesterday it was almost 10F more at this time.

I think the window blinds are helping, even though it's also somewhat overcast. I did not yet get the big train room windows in the next room over covered with the temporary sheets but we had a similar effect from the overcast. Some Sun/UV was still coming in as the floor where the light is from the windows is a little warmer but an other less than on a sunny day. And the office, while warm, is not as warm as normal.

Lots to do. Not enough time to do it. And some days the motivation is lacking. Today I drive the daughter to Orem for a guitar / band practice for this one off they're doing at a festival in September. Have to leave at 3.
