This is from a year ago. My daughter playing in a special summer advanced band at the school got invited to play at a music festival being done in Orem. This was a special band put together for the summer of advanced students. My daughter's the one doing all the guitar work (white guitar, red pants, on the left). I won't post more of her band playing but this is what they do. She was also in a normal band (and has been for 10 years since she was about 7) and they played at the normal semester end concert (was that same day as the festival) and there are 3 semesters a year. They learn 5-7 songs and perform at a concert the school puts on. They occasionally do adult bands when they have enough interest and I did a few semesters of adult bands there like 10-12 years ago.

I love to hear a guitar 'talk' and your daughter sure can make her instrument talk. Give her a 'Well Done' from me.

Good morning all. Another day holed up in the house to escape the heat today. The end is almost in sight.

Laundry day, for what little clothing I wear since I retired. Saving water and detergent. I always have less laundry in summer than in winter though.

My firearms collection is getting an inspection and wipe-down with a silicone cloth today. They are kept in a display cabinet with a lamp that keeps the air dry so no danger of rusting, but it also dries the silicone from the last wipe-down. It's therapeutic though, and I like handling the ones that don't get carried.

Maybe head for the train room as I did yesterday. I need a fresh photo for the FEF thread.

Sorry for the strange photo angle. It was the only angle I could use to keep my shadow out of the frame.

Baseball got interrupted when the UPS driver arrived with the new T-Mobile modem. No printed instructions, scan the QR code. Oh well it's done.

According to fast.com the speed is: 80mbps download, 37mbps upload and 38ms unloaded latency, 113ms loaded latency. Does it matter if I'm streaming a baseball game as it ran the test?

It's all Greek to me, it works!

Starter Logan Gilbert of the Mariners certainly has a unique delivery, but he is making it work for him. I worry he could hurt himself.

The White Sox young starter 25-year-old Shane Smith is impressive.

Willie, your gas is cheap. We're still at $4, with all the state taxes.
We’re at $3.35-.3.39 at the mainline stations. Have been for a few weeks or a month or so. Previously it was $3.2x for a good while and before that 3.19. Those are the top. It jumps up. Creeps down for a week and jumps back.

Walmart and Costco etc are now in the $3.0x range I think if the Walmart I saw yesterday at 3.05 is a good representation. Though Costco a week ago with the wife was $3.15. It could have dropped since.

Didn’t walk this morning. I had a hard time calming down last night and so didn’t get up this morning. Though it’s a bit cooler out than yesterday. It was 77 when I checked and that was close to about when I would have been getting home from the walk. Yesterday it was 89 when I got home.

I’ll walk this evening.

I'd love to see a photo of a Navy Truck and Rail (TAR) van c. 1971, that were used to transport Polaris and Poseidon solid rocket motors from Utah to Norfolk, VA. Don't know what they looked like and can't seem to find any photos on the 'net. Might be able to kibash one from a coil car...if I knew what one looked like.

In PT I hit 119° even with having it a bit of inflammation. Down to 11° difference!

So much for free kid labor...😁 cost me $160 to get peaches picked and yards mowed. OH yeah, and lunch...😂 We have about 2 bushel at this time. At least another yet on the tree. Like to have some discussion time with the nursery who said it's a semi dwarf tree. Branches reach 20+ feet. And yes, peaches are that high.

Good evening Diners. A glass of Rose wine please, Flo.
Did a mini-shop, then made a short visit to the train room.
I received some new nameplates for some locomotives. The nameplates are of my family who lived around 1910 -1920.

Thomas the Tank has been repainted and is now ‘Lady Isobel’. Other locomotives are, ‘Lady Margaret’, ‘Lady Elizabeth’, ‘Lady Ellen’ and ‘Lady Emily’.

I shall now order more nameplates. I do not wish to ‘upset those that lived a time past’.

‘Lady Victoria’, ‘Lady Edith’ and ‘Lady Adelaide’ are on order.

HI GENTS
well got out of the mad house for a bit today. to hot to do much and as previously stated me being a husky fellow and heat do not mix. Watch a few trains go out a bridge that says grand trunk western here in mishiwaka. I don't know much about the gt but I'm doing my research. still spreading the hate for the CSX heritage units, ugly bastard things they are. but got me thinking with the up-ns merge what's gonna happen to the NS heritage units. hopefully up wont scrap em.

now looking at a antenna for my scanner then gonna look at stuff for a HAM licence. but one thing at a time
