I think starting tomorrow, there will be NFL preseason games to watch.

I have a similar old phone number story. I saw a missed call and while I normally do not call back, this time I did. I get a Japanese woman answering and I asked if she had called and what she wanted. She mumbled something and hung up. A moment later, I get another phone call from the same number and this time an American guy is on the line. He says who he is and asked why I was calling his wife. I should have told him that I was trying to get a date with her, but I knew who this guy was so I told him who I was. I had his old phone number and his wife had not updated her phone for some reason or had both. Either way, we had a good laugh. Since govt employees have to rotate to the states once in a while, the phone numbers get jumbled up.

Went for another walk this morning. Left at the same time as yesterday (9-m) and about the same temperature 82-83F. But the breeze was more mild. There was a breeze but not as brisk as yesterday. Sunny. An hour and a few minutes later and 3.25 miles I was back home and it was 89f.

It’s good for me.
It’s good for me.
It’s good for me.

Anyway. About to drive down to Orem for my daughter’s band practice. After the semester concert in January she bowed out for the next semester as I mistakenly planned our Japan trip for when the concert was so it made no sense to be in the band if you’re not going to be at the concert. And then I got unemployed so we didn’t want afford the money or turn for summer band. Need to conserve cash.

But the band director contacted me last week to see if we’d be interested in a no cost (other than time) 5 week reunion band if the band she was in last fall to play at a special Orem city event in the second half of September. He had been asked by the organizers if he had some bands that could play. She was up to it (I think she misses it some) so we’re going to be doing that for the next month.
You have to pay for band? Is this high school?

Good evening. Currently 69°, and clear. Outlook low of 61°, and clear....perhaps cooler. Have a second blanket available if necessary.
Won't bore y'all with details, but I was quite active today. Light baseball schedule tonight so...not much to do.
I think starting tomorrow, there will be NFL preseason games to watch.
Terry: Be easy on that tooth.
They started doing them last week but I always ignore the Hall of Fame Game because it's a bunch of commercials and interviews occasionally interrupted by football. Saturday the Steelers play the Jaguars. With Aaron Rodgers on the team, I have a feeling this season is gonna be lulzy.

Anyone hear of a band named Sixpence None the Richer? No? Me neither until a few days ago. It seems I've had one of their songs for a long time in my oldies mix. Don't remember how I got it. As I'm working on getting my 0-6-0 finished, I'm listening to this playlist and the song Kiss Me has always caught my attention. Like the rhythm and the voice. So I finally decide to look it up. Couldn't figure out the name of the band. Thought it was Sixpence and the name of the album was None the Richer, but nope. Anyway, found more of their stuff and recognized some of the other stuff that showed up, so I searched for their greatest hits album since this group had formed in the early 90's. Christian alternative rock band from New Braunfels, Texas. CD showed up today. Ripped it and put a copy in my car.

Will be blasting this stuff around the neighborhood haha, nah just joking.

When dealing with other folks, I always try to be frank and earnest.
When I'm in Dallas, I'm Ernest and when I'm in Ft Worth, I'm Frank. 🤪🤪
Call me anything, but don't call me late for dinner :p:p:p:p
However, I never get calls for Frank or Ernest. But I get plenty from "Non Profits". Just add em to "Blocked Calls" list.

Take care....F & E

I haven't seen the schedule, but I do believe you are right! I enjoy those games, especially the first weeks of preseason. I don't follow college football. All the rookies are new to me. I enjoy watching them compete for a job. My team, the Baltimore Ravens always manage to find an undrafted gem or two. Over the years, several have gone on to be Pro-Bowl players. You can't measure heart.

This is modern America, you pay for everything, one way or another.

I'veknown that song since forever as my son's band at teh music school I mentioned above played it like 10 years ago. That's how I. learned about it. Kiss Me is one of my favorite pop type songs to play. It's a fun and awesome song. Of course I hear it on the "oldies" pop stations now and in grocery stores and stuff all the time. The way it starts in C Cmaj7 C7 is really cool.

It's a private music school. It's a rock band school called Dave's Rock Lab. They do private lessons and also group lessons called Rock Bands.
This is from a year ago. My daughter playing in a special summer advanced band at the school got invited to play at a music festival being done in Orem. This was a special band put together for the summer of advanced students. My daughter's the one doing all the guitar work (white guitar, red pants, on the left). I won't post more of her band playing but this is what they do. She was also in a normal band (and has been for 10 years since she was about 7) and they played at the normal semester end concert (was that same day as the festival) and there are 3 semesters a year. They learn 5-7 songs and perform at a concert the school puts on. They occasionally do adult bands when they have enough interest and I did a few semesters of adult bands there like 10-12 years ago.

My Orioles had the day off, only four games in all of MLB yesterday, but still I found some interesting things. More on that later after I watch a game or two. @kbkchooch I know you can't wait! 🤪

Now for some train news, in my house no less. I love the happy sound of trains running in my house!

I powered up my O72 track with a Lionel CW-80 to test my new (to me) MTH Premier Conrail Bicentennial GG1 w/Proto-Sound 2.0 and MTH Premier Conrail Extended Vision Caboose, success! They both run beautifully, the couplers are solid, and all the lights work.

The MTH Proto Sound 2.0 in the GG1 didn't like my Lionel CW-80. The horn wouldn't work, the bell got stuck on and other sounds were sporadic. I expected as much. Modern Lionel transformers don't produce a clean, true sine wave like vintage transformers. MTH's Proto-Sound 2.0 boards refuse to activate certain sounds if they “sense” a non-sine waveform and if they do, they can get crazy. (Mike doesn't like Lionel?) But they will run powered by the CW-80. I have an MTH Z-1000 transformer and DCS Remote Commander Set that should work fine. The Lionel CW-80 was handy and did enough to let me know it works. I didn't want to find out it was dead on arrival after the eBay buyer protection period ended.

Other than that, we have been bogged down with bureaucracy after we finish work the last two days. I'll just say the Hungarian government can be a pain in the 🫏 to deal with. "Communism is over fellas!" And they wonder why they can't drum up more business. With that done I can move back to my to-do list today, God willing.

My T-Mobile Internet has been great, for now. Whatever the T-Mobile tech guy did I now have the strongest possible signal. Before his improvements it would fluctuate between four and five bars. Now it is steady at five bars. Yesterday it was pissing me off, but it settled down and has been working well. It has me wondering if it is the router. He did say they had been doing some work in my area but sent me a new router anyway. Time will tell; the new and latest version of the T-Mobile router should be here soon. It can't hurt to have the latest equipment, free of charge.

I already watched the Rundown Recap on MLB.TV.

I discovered Amazon's live tv shows on Prime, all kinds of shows. I was watching the "History Hits" channel. They are playing old WWII shows with narrator Robert Powell. I've seen them all repeatedly, but i still find them interesting and he has a great voice for these shows.

Next, I'm going to begin watching the White Sox @ the Mariners. Another matchup of a playoff team vs a second division team. Seattle needed 11-innings to put the White Sox down, 4-3.

Paul Skeens pitched six scoreless innings in the Pirates 7-0 win over the Reds. I always enjoy watching him pitch. I'll put that on my list as well.

Is there any wonder why I don't get more done? What can I say, the doctors don't want me to overwork myself and if my wife had her way I would do next to nothing. Whatever I'm doing is working, my blood pressure and glucose have been great. I feel good too!

Little by little I will have trains running on a regular schedule in my house again.

I feel a train song coming, is that the sound of racing steel and ninety tons of thunder lighting up the sky?

No more "wake and bake" for me, but I still like it Hard and heavy in the morning!

It's time to get ready for work.

Enjoy your day Everybody!

That's all folks!

That's cool. Get up on stage, get some stage presence and confidence and do something that you enjoy doing.

Was the signal strength fluctuating? If so, it could be RF interference. If you have weak spots around the house, a nice mesh system is good to have. I have an older system with a Netgear Ex8000 mesh extender down stairs. Keeps the wife happy with her games and allows my tv to connect to the network so I can watch my shows.

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those watching WWII documentaries wondering who will win the war this time!

It's Troy again

Evidently today is international Cat Day. Get a hallmark card for your cat, or such.

Above is one that I write about. He's really a mini-dragon that loves chili-cheese dogs. The leprechauns were trying to figure out who rigged their magic ballot box in the local election. Everyone had to go through the magical lie detector. Silly them, don't put a mini-dragon, even one transformed into a cat, into a box. You know what cats do to enclosed boxes!

In other news, Lord Fuzzbutt used his pooping palace several times yesterday, and for the 2:30am piddle run, he peed on the landing, but managed to do so in the litter tray I positioned there. No puppy training pads were soiled. If he keeps that up, I'll move the litter box to the top of the stairway next week. and see if we can then inch it toward the bathroom at the other side of the 2nd floor.

I used the contact form on RMC site to let them know I wanted to renew my subscription, but their page was broke. About 15 minutes later, I tried again, and it went through to the renewal page. I'd like to pay for 2 or 3 years, but that doesn't seem to be an option. I'm afraid that if I increase the quantity from 1 to 3, I'll get three copies each month.

Good morning everyone!

Happy Friday!

Another hot muggy day in store. Currently 70F with a high of 87F. Summer has made her return! Though it didn't get quite as
warm yesterday as they predicted, so maybe there's hope it wont get so warm

Have the usual Friday household chores to accomplish today. Not much else happening.

Last night I started testing ground colors on the layout and struck out twice. Seems two of the brown colors I chose wouldn't work.
One was way too dark for the area I'm modeling and the other had an almost red appearance to it. Perfect for Arizona, but not my
area. I ordered a couple more bottles fro Amazon and they should be here today.

Have a safe day everyone!
