Is your furry overlord eating dry or wet food?
Dry...

I heard back from the vet. Red Blood Cell count was through the roof, but no increase in white blood cells. She suspects a bladder or kidney stone.

The vet called right as I walked into Costco. So I finished my shopping, came home and told the wife what was happening. Wife had to use the comb to get him out from under the bed, while I unloaded the costco run. I grabbed the carrier and got him to the vet.

Wife has her mammogram today at 4pm, and trying to get back to the vet to pick up Lord Fuzzbutt will be a huge challenge. IF they're done with him. I suspect they'll want to keep him overnight anyway.

The girls at the front desk of the vet laugh when I announced in my best British Chamberlain voice: Lord Fuzzbutt is here to get his butt Xrayed!...

I'll post more once I know what he's facing.

The reason I ask is that our little furry Fuhrer has had issues with UTIs in the past, so we switched diets on him. He is now on Royal Canin urinary care formula which was recommended by the emergency vet that he spent 2 days at 2 years ago. That trip cost me $1,400.00. I buy him a 17 lb bag about every 7-8 weeks and yes it may be pricey compared to regular cat chow, but he hasn't been back to the vet for other than regular visits since we changed his food.

Our Lord Fuzzbutt is going to spend the night at the vet. His bladder is empty enough they weren't able to get a decent image. They've given him fluids under his skin (basically a saline IV via injection) so they can get his bladder filling again. Another imaging attempt before they close, or first thing in the morning.

I've had a cat on the special, prescription only food for crystals. We're lucky that he's turned 12 this week without every having crystals diagnosed up to this point.

Right now, it's a question of is it a crystal "stone" or is something more like Cancer? So, there is some worry, and they need to see inside of him before recommending a course of treatment.

Good afternoon all,

Wife is doing a little birthday shopping while I catch up with my posts.

When we have dry weather, it is dirt falling down with the rain, too. I usually wash the car in the yard, we have a brush on a handle that the hose screws into. After a good rinse, I go over the whole thing with that gizmo and it does a reasonably good job of not leaving anything.

I bought more white glue. Should be able to finish all the ground cover now. Started assembling some of my final already purchased details, I am looking forward to getting another box of stuff installed on the layout.

Later, Dave LASM

After a phone call between PT, Dr, HR and myself, I can go back to work on the 18th. (2 weeks early) I should be ok. Actually looking forward to saving the extra weeks of time off.

We have all 4 grandkids tomorrow. Since I can't find willing help, I'm using child labor to pick the peaches. The 6 year old has been asking me when are they going to be ready. I think she'll enjoy picking the first couple. I know I may be peeling some, but I don't mind the fuzzy skin.

As far as retirement, I just need to quit taking these long health breaks. We can't really go anywhere when I have pt and such to have to go to.

Concerning PT:
1. I am a complete advocate of Physical Therapy, and have greatly benefited from it.
2. Not all Therapists are created with equal skills and ability. Some use Therapy based on Analytics, not the individual's need.
3. Six days after I had spinal surgery with support PT in the Hospital, I was transferred to a Rehabilitation Hospital for "Intense" Occupational, and Physical Therapy, 3 hours of each Daily for 9 days, with a walk around the Hospital on Sunday. (I Aced it!).
4.On Day 10, I was due to be discharged, but came down with Pneumonia, and was admitted to the adjacent Regional (Sister) Hospital of the one I was operated on, at.
Four days of aggressive treatment later, I was discharged and allowed to go home. (This past Monday).

The Social Services and Therapy Departments, strongly recommended additional Physical Therapy, at home with Home Therapist, and outpatient therapy to follow. I had a scheduled appointment with the Surgeon today, (Wednesday), so I deferred the decision to the determination of the Surgeon.

Surprise, the Surgeon, completely up to date on my history, was satisfied with my recovery, an did not believe I needed any additional therapy - at this time. In fact, although I had been walking with a walker, in the hospital environment, I couldn't get out of bed or chair without an escort from the staff. Today, I completely washed and dressed with some assistance from wife, walked to the car, including two steps, rode to Main Hospital, Walked from car through lobby, up elevator, into office, examination room, and around to appointment desk, then reversing my steps back to valet parking all without a baby sitter. Longest walk since surgery. I go back in two weeks for X-Ray, then 6 weeks (+ or -), for MRI, after which I should be fully recovered.

For what it's worth.

I glad PT is working well for you as it is for me!

Not really complaining about PT as this knee replacement is going well as I have the same therapist I had for my shoulders last year. My complaint is that we really can't go anywhere so I'm stuck at the house. My right knee (replaced 15 years ago) is at a respectable 130° and after 2 weeks I'm at 117° flexion which is quicker than should be. They have me motivated. I have been through a lot of pt over the years, and always have had good results.

A good PT is just as important as a good surgeon.

2016 I had a 3rd party WC injury. Slipped on a wet floor, fell hard, and tore my biceps tendon off & split the labrum in the left shoulder. I followed the PT instructions exactly and fully recovered in 6 months.

My wife had both knees done a year apart. The PT was so good with the first knee that she made sure to schedule with the same person after the other one was replaced.

After the 12 week mark, I might be open for some PT fro the right leg. Depending on factors not yet known. The key to PT is the Therapist. I have one in mind when the time comes. Around here PT facilities have sprouted like crab grass, one has to be careful.
