Wrigey Field is no doubt a magnificent ballpark, but f that wind! The wind started blowing in from right field and robbed Dylan Carlson of the Orioles of a 2-run homerun in the 4th inning! Google estimated the wind in right field was taking 30+ feet off fly balls. That was the one I saw, but I have four more innings to watch. With three left-handed hitters and two switch hitters in my Birds lineup I'll bet there will be more.

I forgot to mention, that ... wind fooled the Birds right fielder causing him to drop an easy can of corn. That cost my Birds two runs! I'm glad the birds are leaving the windy city, now on to Philadelphia. Combined with the homerun the wind robbed, my Birds lost 5-3!

That is the way this season has gone for my Birds. Even rain and now wind have worked against my Birds. I know the Pope is a White Sox fan but a prayer for my Birds wouldn't hurt, we were playing the Cubs, not the White Sox!

As for foreign players and some of their names in MLB; I love the players, some of the names, not so much. Nicknames are a tradition in baseball and I'm “Merican”! I'll call them whatever I want! 🤪

It does. I drank from the water hose back in the 80's and found that they don't make them like they used to in the 70's. Left a bad taste in my mouth for several hours.

You are supposed to slide down the slide in your shoes to keep from burning your ass. We used to put sand on the slide for speed.

Friend of mine fell out of the back of a pick up on the freeway. She survived.

And my back hurts from sleeping more than 8 hours. :)
You had to be tough to play in them old school playgrounds. You either got burned on the 200 degree metal slide, an ass full of splinters from the seesaw, Plinkoed through the jungle gym, or hucked into Neverneverland on the merry go `round if you let your buddy Popeye push.

good morning everyone

- black coffee pls and maybe a bagle?
- airport up and running, still vacation time so its busy here
- weather is well clouded, around 20celcius whers the summer?

so over the weekend the Disc Golf World Championships took place in Finnland (first time ever outside of the US). i was watching all 5 rounds and it was epic! there where huge crowds of fans on saturday and sunday, and in the end in the category FPO (Female Pro Open) Ohn Scoggins (USA) won in a playoff. Shes now the oldest to win a FPO World Title, and she already won this season in the Masters (FP40) division.
over in MPO (Mixed Pro Open) Gannon Buhr (nr. 1 in the world right now) won. Its his first World Title and hes also from the US. So both titles going to the US. But it was really awesome to see such a huge event from our "small" sport. Finland delivered a great Tournament.

On the Modelrailroad side, it could be that i ordered some stuff for a "small" project. ahahahaha.

And here is a picture from a small diorama iam building, for a upcoming youtube series.

Good morning all. It is raining.
Flo. A large coffee on the go please.

Oldest grandson was knocked sideways yesterday. (Never backwards.) He had lost a lot more blood.
He had a major operation through the night.
Family stayed at the hospital.
We arrived home this morning and had a couple of hours sleep.
Going back to the hospital shortly.

Prayers for both! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Good morning to all who visit. Another haze filled Wisconsin morning. The smoke is tiresome but I can’t image how the Canadians near these fires are handling it. Before last week we had some smoke free days, they’ve had thick smoke constantly since the fires started in May. We have the Air Quality Alerts till noon today. About 10 I’m sure they will extend it. But it’s not a watch or a warning it is down to Alert status. That means we will see the smoke haze but it will not be as thick or dense. Hey that’s an improvement.

It’s 57f degrees now heading to 81. Basically the same dry forecast every day since Thursday last week.

I will wait for the pick up of my packages by the USPS today between 10 and 11. 1st time for me paying online, printing out the labeling and because there are so many packages waiting for the area pick up. Following the directions of my carrier Saturday. Normally if they’d fit in the mailbox he’d pick them up on his normal run but I clicked a box that what I have will not fit. So the parcel delivery area truck will. Cool!

OPS session at 7pm this evening. A small switching layout representing the 1954 Port of Green Bay. The layout though small 4’ x 28’ with access all around is extremely well done. Steam or early diesels is the motive power depending on the owners whims. Enough for 2-90 minute sessions for 4 plus the owner. We will take about a 20 minute break and do another 90 minutes. No touching the cars unless there is a rare derail and then by the trucks only. He has posted on his FB page some of the changes he recently made, that will change the session some!

Too hazy out there to walk outside so the machine to nowhere was utilized. I’m not a fan of the treadmill but without it I’d vegg out in my chair in the cave. It really does surprise me after a 2 or 3 mile morning walk how alive I feel. So that’s a good thing. Still having trouble dropping the belly but the weight is coming off. From last years stroke at the end of July when I weighted 208 to a high in January of 241 because of less exercise and the drug bloat I was experiencing I’m down to 218 but the belly isn’t budging! I usually lose weight on vacation so I am hoping our 22 day trip will help starting the 16th. If we detour to Maui though with my brother’s cooking and the restaurants we will go to all bets are off.

After a 17 day layoff I hit golf balls on the simulator yesterday and plan to again. Played Sawgrass down in Florida and broke 90. I did feel more comfortable than I had and while the ball is fairly straight none were hit farther then 231 yards per the simulator. I can play 18 holes on the simulator alone in about 90 minutes. When the brother is here it would be around 2 hours combined for us. Much better than 4-5 out on the real thing. I’m been asked by my coaching friend to play locally but I’m not ready and with the smoke haze I don’t want to.

Enjoy the day

I’m not one to kneel down and pray but all my good thoughts are for the best to both and the families. In both cases you feel so helpless because you can’t do anything but trust in the medical people

That'll be one of the last things to go, unfortunately. Best storage area on men. I have bones sticking out all over but have my pouch.

My favorite food (one of) in Hawaii is laulau. It is taro leaves wrapped around pork, sometimes chicken, sometimes black cod, all wrapped by ti leaves and then stuck in the ground oven. It gets smoked by kiawe (I think close to hickory) and cooked for a long time.

I don't go home very often and had to figure out how to get my fix. I did some research and found that Japan has a sato-imo that is related to taro, so I started growing some and took the leaves. Steamed it thoroughly (you can get scratchy throat if you don't cook it all the way) and it tasted just like the laulau leaf. So, I cheated with the smoke with liquid smoke, Hawaiian salt, wrapped as much sato-imo leaves around it and pressure cooked it for 90 minutes. Oh yeah, have to put in all the pork fat in, so blows the diet out of the water.

Was supah ono, broke da mouth!

Morning all,

64 and clear, high later of 82. Supposed to get back into normal temps by the weekend.

David: Continuing prayers for your grandson.

Terry: Hope all goes well with the granddaughter and her young one.

I have PT in a bit, and I need to start watching the tree as the peaches are getting close. Already had a couple of early ones. Tomatoes this year are weird. I had about 5 pounds earlier, and now they seem to want to ripen.

Good morning all!

Currently 66F heading up to a high of 83F. Noticed the humidity was starting to build again. It also looks like the heat will make
a return later this week.

Nothing much going on here yet. Do have a couple loads of laundry to get done. Also have to run dental and physical forms to the
high school to finish up my daughters registration.

Didn't do much on the layout last night. Did do some clean-up and run some trains.

Have a safe day everyone!

I went to our favorite auction site to leave some feedback a few minutes ago.
Interestingly, after I entered my feedback and a very brief description of why I left that feedback, the site’s AI seems to have taken over and added much more to my feedback than I originally provided. I guess in the future, instead of any text at all, I’ll simply leave a single character or letter in the additional comments area.
Weird…
