Toe Moe You Key

A - ahhh!
E - eh?
I - eeek
O - oh?
U - oooh (like ulala)
(This is for the rest of us, not Kusojiji as he is well aware)

Kind of. That’s the general idea of the vowels but you need to remember that there are short and long versions of them all, with short by default. (I only mention that because the good explanation above makes it seem like some are long).

And for the languages geeks, the proper (modern) order is

A I U E O

All the syllables follow that same order. In Japanese, the basic piece is a word is the syllable. Which is why the language looks and sounds the way it does.

Ka ki ku ke ko, sa shi su se so, ta chi tsu te to, ma mi my me mo, etc. All charts will be in the same order. The interesting thing is ん also ン, which is “n”, is a standalone syllable.

You’ll also notice a couple change the consonant sound with “i”. The s-row has shi and the t-row has chi. For some reason they must have a harder time with si (like our Spanish friends) and ti (like the drink tea) and so have changed the sound.

Also tu spot in the chart is tsu for some reason. Like tsunami.

You may now go back to your regularly scheduled reading. The school lesson is over.

😉😉😉

Has anybody else been able to figure out how to prevent Firefox from unfurling links here in the forum? I post complete links with previews, and Firefox truncates everything down to a very short clickable URL and no preview. I can go back in after posting, and edit out the unfurl, but the preview is gone. And it only happens on this forum and railroad forums. It's a recent issue, and I don't know if it's something in the forum that changed, or one of Firefox's daily updates.

Good afternoon folks, 85 here and beautiful. Really great day at church and now we are all home, with Nephew going to take g'nephew and a friend fishing. Uncle Kevin got a nap in and now Niece may also be taking little ones to the p-a-r-k [if they're good]. Don't know if I'm working tomorrow or not yet, but will probably need to help with Nephew's moving preparations.

RIP: Loni Anderson

Edit: Terry: I'm using chrome, and posted both the full link with ?(redirected from Facebook) and the actual link, minus everything after the ? in the original. Both showed the previews for me.

Is it possible to place that parallel to the white fencing near the trailer? It sort of looks like it was forced into the position it is now.
Yes, it does fit and certainly looks better. Thanks for the suggestion.

Nice! Missed one - tsu. Might be tu if your nose is plugged haha

Good evening all!

Turned out to be a gorgeous day weather wise. Don't know if it got over the expected 81F or not. Didn't feel bad out there
at all.

Got the yard mowed and trimmed. Ran to the grocery store and while I was there filled up the wife's car. Got the pool all vacuumed,
and added chlorine to my floater. Made dinner (Generals Chicken and egg rolls). Now everything is cleaned up and put away.

Time to head downstairs and play with scenery and run some trains.

Have a great rest of your Sunday night!

Good evening fellow models, train lovers and experts of language. One never knows what you will find in the diner.

A bowl of beef barley soup was again tonight’s dinner along with a piece of sourdough bread. Excellent Terry is with all kinds of soups. Her specialities though are thick creamy soups of which her Wild Rice and Chicken is one I’d place in competition against any chef. The issue with soups is she generally makes 8 full bowls worth. In a batch of soup I’ll eat 2 bowls usually over 2 days, same for Terry. The other 4 bowls head off to the kids. But today the daughter said no! So we have an extra 4 bowls for us tomorrow. That means one for lunch and later for dinner. 3 nights in a row is a bit much but it’s a great problem to have

Like MIGALYTO wrote a beautiful day 103 miles south of me. We had the same beautiful weather except we had an extra ingredient in the form of smoke haze. Not as strong smelling or tasting as yesterday but it was out there. I still was able though to stay on the front porch.

The grandson texted me on his way home from Chicago. He did not buy the new tires for his slot cars. He said he and his dad tomorrow will go to our LHS to see if he has the tires he wants and if not can he order them. If the shop says no he said the place he was going in Chicago for tires has a web site.

Why does it seem that every time I go into the train room something derails and takes me away. This afternoon I’m in there 15 minutes and my sister calls. My sister never calls me, she calls Terry. 35 minutes later of a nice but meaningless phone call I sitting at my bench with no desire now to do anything? Oh well maybe tomorrow after the vacuuming is done

Along with 3 remaining OPS sessions for the week I received another invite today to a work session. I had to decline as I’ll be an 1 of the OPS. . Looks like the guys are getting the non scheduled layouts updated for OPS sessions. THE 2 groups I’m in have been asking the retired layout owners to try to schedule during the week and let the working guys have the weekends. Now those guys are asking for help to upgrade their layouts. There has been griping behind the scenes but some of the retired guys are trying to work it in. I’m planning 2 weekday evening sessions 7 to 10pm in November.

Enjoy the night

Looking for additional images online for the Shack of Sit. That water tank on the roof is a perfect piece for weathering a model! But instead of the water tank I found this and I’m still laughing. The liberal in the house thinks I’m f…ing nuts!

and then I found 3 more to laugh over

I started to watch the replay of the game, but I fell asleep. I did see the highlights on the Rundown Recap, and I reviewed the box score.
I was amazed by the attendance 91,032, a new MLB record! There was a 2 hour, and 41-minute rain delay and the game had to be postponed, but the sun was shining when they completed the game on Sunday. I thought the pace car taking a lap after each homerun was cool, definitely unique!

I use Edge with Windows 11; previews haven't worked for a long time for me. Maybe since the forum upgrade, I don't know, and it really doesn't bother me.
