Well, the typhoon ended up making the right turn and petering out. We got some rain, some wind and nothing to write home about. Was going to fry some pork chops today but will fire up the grill instead. Have some extra bell peppers, egg plants and mini tomatos to burn as well.

I really need to go buy a frigging new pump and get it installed.
If you can install it yourself you could buy one online, they never close.

I also extended my "rail yard" a bit so I can get at the trains, instead of having 'em stuck behind the monitor. That involved designing and printing a little "bridge" that I could tie the monitor cables to, to keep them out of the way while the trains go under. It's working great:
Clever work, I love it! Purple is cool. Go Ravens, Baltimore Ravens that is.

You mentioned you were having a colonoscopy done. The preparation isn't so bad, just don't drink that solution too fast. It can make you nauseous if you do. Otherwise, it is simple and easy. If you have ever gone hungry for a day or two then that part will be easy. The procedure itself is a breeze. The Anesthesiologists will give you the good stuff, no hangover. Good for you my friend, I'm glad to hear you are getting it done.

Good evening. It’s clear and 87.

Operation A/C v2 is complete. I now have two brand new air conditioners installed and operating. They only cost me $2500… If it were a house, that would be cheap, but as of 2020, a new unit could be had for $699.
I'm shocked by the prices of everything these days. Which is why I haven't replaced my HVAC system, and I won't until like you, I have no choice. Mine may be less efficient, but it is far cheaper than a replacement. I'm glad to hear you are cool in that Florida heat and humidity.

I recently watched the Orioles play in Tampa. I've never seen MLB players sweat so much, at least not in my memory. The players on the bench were sweating profusely and the pitchers were unintentionally throwing spitballs. The worst part was nobody thought to give them a towel to keep their hands dry!

Welcome back! Was wondering where you had been.

We have missed your postings! 😀
@CambriaArea51 Mike said it perfectly!

I saved the most important for last.
EACH DAY IS A GIFT TO BE OPENED WITH PRAYER
Perfect!

Daivd, I am so happy to hear the wonderful news about your grandson. We will keep him in our thoughts and prayers.

"Pizza Pizza" at Little Ceaser's was a success, my grandson and my wife loved it. I still prefer Pizza Hut, but I didn't eat two whole pieces of pizza, I tried all three, pretzel crust was okay. The jalapeno on the Fantastic Four was not for me, but I did like the sausage and ham. Crazy Puffs were okay, too much dough for me. I know better than to try the crazy bread for the same reason.

I think my wife and grandson like Little Ceaser's bread like dough. They both love bread! For me pizza is cheese, sauce, and toppings. The less dough the better.

Louis - It's good to read that your health is improving. Also good to know that you are pacing yourself a bit more now. Lots of time can now be spent with trains.
Thank you for the kind words and encouragement.

I need to normalize my routine when I don't work. I'm feeling out of sorts this morning. I'm not doing bad, just dragging my 🫏 a little bit.

Improving my health has not been easy. It requires diligence and sacrifice. I miss potato chips! But I don't miss an A1C over 10. The A1C of 7.0 was a pleasant reward for the sacrifices. I'm hoping I can do better, but the doctor was happy. She said with a compromised pancreas and an overactive liver she would have been happy with an A1C of 8.0.

I must admit it has gotten easier. After weeks of feeling like I was starving myself my appetite has diminished significantly. During those first weeks I had to remind myself, "being hungry is a good thing". Now it has become easy; I must remind myself to eat.

Taking my blood pressure twice a day reminds me to drink more fluids. My blood pressure is still in the low range, but no longer critically low. My internal organs are no longer starving for blood. Who knew?

Like most anything in life, you must make it happen, God willing. Life can and does present us with unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances. Sometimes all we can do is to ride the tide.

Still, I believe in the old Proverb Benjamin Franklin popularized with these exact words in Poor Richard’s Almanack "God helps those who help themselves".

It's time to move my 🫏 and get to work. Amazon seldom fails to right my ship and thanks to my wife, they pay good too! Working allows me to buy stuff, without feeling guilty!

Have an enjoyable day Everybody!

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with working livers

It's Troy again. Fortunately, I'm in no danger of being hired or fired for my number crunching ability. My brain doesn't crunch numbers. It ignores them until they sneak up on me, then I run away screaming. Part of that comes from knowing that half of 2.8 is 4, and half of 4 is 5.6. IYKYK. 📸

Wife had a fun trip to Indy. She even got to see our kid. Wife and her business buddy are friends in real life, so it was like a slumber party. Wife came home in the morning, dragging after only 3 hours of sleep.

But, they went to K-Town for dinner, a Korean BBQ place real close to where our daughter lives. So wife texted and the daughter met them at the restaurant.

Wife said daughter was actually perky and engaging. She's usually quiet and reserved around us.

A K-Town opened less than a mile from our place. It's all you can eat, so they are pricey, but reasonable when you consider that. Wife said it's good, but not a go whenever place. If the daughter and her boyfriend come up to visit, we'll probably take them.

Today will be a grill day. I need to tear apart the gas Charbroiler grill, and replace the burners, then clean out the grease tray (ugh and blech!)

Might make a mai tai tonight.

Good morning all. A cloudy day.
Flo, Can I have a coffee on the go please?

You know when you really hate having something done to you, even though it is relatively minor?
It is happening to our grandson, John at present.
He has had major surgery and not bat an eyelid. Now he is having new needles in veins. That, he really hates. Knowing it is to happen his veins appear to 'not want to know'.

Just arrived a LNWR Webb Coal Tank 0.6.2 locomotive.
