Good afternoon. Just added up ALL the rainfall totals since Friday here at the homestead. .21” and the weather geeks are very happy. The official rainfall is still almost 4” short at the Dane Co. airport about 12 NE of us. I think we are more down then that here.

Been texting the son in Austin. His rain gauge since Friday has less then 1” total but a friend 2 miles east of him is over 10” in the same time frame. Even with the flooding and run off they are happy, Lake Travis is rising again.

Chet, great pictures but I am not crossing that bridge

hughie, reads like your have enough to create your own building, hope they get the next one right

Just got back from a late breakfast. Breakfast only place and served from 6 to 1. The 2nd time we have gone there since we moved into the area. Simple fare but oh so delicious.

As we are coming down the County Hwy to home we see a cop car (ok it’s a SUV) at the main gate to the property in the driveway and another car. Car called the cops as the car pulled into our gated driveway to turn around. Turned based on tire marks right through BOTH flower beds along each side of the drive. Flat tires because I have used but official State Of Wisconsin State Patrol stop sticks in each bed. Not the 1st time we have had this happen even though both flower beds and the gate are over 100’ from the road with a Private Driveway sign, passed 2 No trespassing signs and 1 if you can read this you are trespassing sign. Screaming lady when I rolled the window down to talk to the Deputy said she was going to sue us. Deputy asked if he could cite her for the trespassing and would we appear, of course was my reply. What a Life!
Hoping that it got all four tires and she is stuck with a towing charge as well. 100' is no accidental trip.

I've always enjoyed Star Trek since its first airing in the 60s.
Now, the show has produced several motion pictures and then split off unto several audience appeasing versions. I saw the Discovery variant previewed and thought it would be interesting. Kinda half watching a few episodes while working at the train desk when something didn't seem right. I backed it up and sure enough the LGBTQWTF crowd has their hands and demands in the show. The ship physician and science officer are having a gay affair. Then there is a transgender of sorts in there too.
I think this is restricted to the Discovery variant of Star Trek because I haven't seen that crap on the other shows.

Afternoon All,

Today I finished up the build and hooked up the pole lighting. I'll take a photo tonight when it gets dark. I only have a small area left to do on the peninsula then the basic scenery is complete...until I start changing things again 😂. Seriously though, Next up after basic scenery will be putting the signals in😣.

On the build I added a ramp on one side and an additional platform on the other side. I know the "asphalt" is really black but in a couple of weeks it will have a layer of dust that I will brush.

Louis- Thank you for your thoughts.

Ken D&J- Neat video. I don't think I have ever seen that done in model railroading.

George- Thank you. I tested the interior lights in the dark and they are very dim. Probably because of how I had to mount them. I was going to add 2 pole lights but based on that I did 4.

TomO- Don't you just love people.

Hughie- That process sounds painful. I would be very, very unhappy. Amazing layout shot.

Chet- Did you run into Jack Nicholson in the maze? Sounds like a fun week. I wouldn't walk over that bridge either.

Willie- You could shape the shim. I saw on the news about the Ft. Worth flooding. I hope you, family and friends remain safe.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Good morning from a very moist morning in So. Central Wisconsin. 58f degrees was the low over night at 5AM but we have fog. Foggy mornings I have decided on the day of my morning walk now become a swim. I finally realized a few weeks ago walking in the fog is no longer fun so I stopped. 62f/16.6c heading to 80/26.6. This is supposed to be the pattern the next 7 days including the morning fogs!

I had a great exchange of FB Messages from the guy has told me to move the propane tanks out of the straight line in the transload yard. Willie also suggested it. Nice very knowledgeable guy who knows his railroading and is good with a camera. He has appeared in a few of those TSG Multimedia you tubes. While his messages on Facebook were relentless he never came across as mr. Know it all. During some later exchanges my Continous Glucose Monitor warning tones went off. I missed lunch and was so intent on the layout my snack got missed to. 60 is low and around 3PM my day turned to recovery. Got back to the layout around 11 to put a coat of paint down on the transload facility. Sleep time was 1:30 this morning.

Terry finally has an offer to consider for the stables, property and business. The employees finally got their act together and hired an attorney. They started talking a couple months ago then stopped. Then last week she got a offer from them which was unexpected. Totally different then what she expected but this version would be the wanted clean break for her from the stables. They want double the property and for me that is a huge issue but I’d be ok with a clause saying no residential building on the additional acreage for 10 years. I need to have the surveyor add the acreage being proposed to my property plans. If this happens 4 of Terry’s 8 horses will temporarily get moved to the daughters stable/barn. Over 2 miles by car away or just over 1 mile by ATV but definitely more then the 500’ downhill currently from the house.

Keeping busy with stuff besides trains.

I do have some pulp cars to start weathering and I am expecting the 3 cars I purchased to show up today per USPS tracking. No rush to do these and I have to add weight to them first. The transload yard is coming along. Slower then I wanted but again no real rush. Next will be the 1 track locomotive track before I turn back to the paper mill.

Steve J -

It won't be unless you try it. There's nothing wrong with going slow and getting it right. You gain skills by trying new things. I had projects over the years that I started and then laid down into storage for a year before resuming. There's nothing about this hobby that makes instant gratitude a requirement. That's not to say that some are pushing that idea.
Smudge - UK has not cornered the market on stupid drivers. I see plenty here.
James - Sorry that you wasted the rum. I'll buy you a drink if we ever get together!
Patrick - The more that you post about your wife's daycare center, the madder I get. If your area is like North Texas, part of the labor shortage is because they eliminated the work requirement for some welfare benefits.

So my burning question for today, what is the difference in the settings on our air-fryer between air-fry and convection bake??? Inquiring minds want to know.
Everybody have a great day. The rain here will keep me inside mostly.
Willie- my wife does that when she makes her ornaments. When they get to be difficult or don’t look how she wants them, she puts them “in timeout” & puts them up in a day, week, month, etc.

Some people's children...

I hope she does sue. So she can pay the bill for her stupid actions and threats and realize that maybe, just maybe, she is the *sshole.
She’s A blowhard. When people say you will hearing from my lawyer, I hand them a card and say have them call my attorney. Going out to take pictures. Called the landscapers to come out and fix the mess. They might get here Friday!

We have had this happen at the previous house. Gate the police said was too close to the road to be called intentional. So this gate is farther back. If they get this far they are not paying attention, pictures of the damage later. If it wasn’t for the horses there would be no fence and definitely no gate. We had a cow catcher thing across the drive but the horses could easily cross it. The cows couldn’t but I woke up one day and said self, sell the f…ing cattle

Hello again,

Willie: Not so much here about welfare queens, although there are some. It mostly breaks down to pay. Wife could earn more working at Walmart, but that has it's own issues. Even the state workforce centers are having issues getting people in the door's looking for work. As afr as the convection vs. Air Fryer, there isn't really a difference. The air fryer is a bit more concentrated, so don't you have to heat the whole oven (or house). We have an older traditional oven, but have a convection toaster oven\air fryer.

As a non POA for my mom, I've been tasked to take her to get new hearing aids. Trying to get people to do things and get information I need to accomplish this it a real PITA. Not looking forward to Medicare...
Patrick- my wife was only 1 class short of getting her Masters in counseling, but she stopped when I got sick. On top of my health issues, the counseling jobs in our area pay less than what she’s making at Walmart, so she figured why bother.
Chet- that “walking bridge” falls under the heading of “the nopiest nope that ever noped”.

My son and I spent about 45-50 minutes at lunch taking down the strong backs from the main room, stacking them, and then re-stacking some of the unused foam bundles that had fallen over or the outer wrap had burst open -- stored outside the house but in the hole where they excavated too much.

These pics show our progress so far taking stuff down

Now that’s a train room.

Lots of work and true sweat equality there, well done

I saw on the news about the Ft. Worth flooding. I hope you, family and friends remain safe.
We're fine as are all of my family members in Dallas. While Ft Worth is also flooding, with over 5" of rain, parts of Dallas have now gotten 15" and are in much worse shape. There are videos on some of the local Dallas TV stations of homeless encampments literally floating down the streets into the Trinity River. Lots of bridges over the Trinity! No one is reported to have washed away with them.

Good afternoon, checking in late today

It got up to 82 here, though doesn't feel too bad,

Willie - glad to hear you are ok

Back with more tomorrow, a couple pics for Steve about the Tichy Crane
