Good Morning All,

I decided to post early (you are so lucky .) Been doing chores today and laundry (my day) and getting ready for Dad's return later. I did glue a concrete bumper on the newly ballasted track so I guess I made progress in the train room.

Terry- Great scene. I actually contemplated the SP, Cotton Belt, and PRR when I first got back into model railroading.

Willie- Nice tutorial. The scene is progressing nicely.

Ken D&J- Great video. Love the bridge.

Troy- The vikings look good.

Sherrel- Great family photo.

Dave- The little stuff is never done. Great looking station. If I remember correctly you scratchbuilt it?

TomO- Great layout shots. From your post I guess someone accused you of photoshopping them.

Jeff- I can relate. I have a immediate family member that drank constantly for years (functional alcoholic) but acquired 3 DUI's. We scraped together enough money for a good in house rehab center with the understanding that this was it and they were on their own if they continued to drink. The person saw the light (thank god) and has now been sober 8 years.

I hope everyone has a good day and night,

Good morning. Sunny, and 83°, going to 93°. Quick glance of high temperatures for the last month 15 of the last 30 have been in the 90s, and one day reached 100°. This is warmer than usual but nothing extreme. Meanwhile, our over all lack of consistent rain continues. Much dryer than usual, but not a drought by any means. We are a week into August, so it won't be long until the weather changes again.

Willie:
I'm going to try your method of applying ground cover. sounds more efficient than my method.

Sherrel:
Nice family portrait. Great that mostly everyone was able to get together.

Dad used to watch the fights on TV. If I remember correctly, at one point they were on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights...depending on the network. (DuMont was still in business back then). Then there was Wrasslin, on Saturday Afternoons.

O's lost to Pittsburgh yesterday, looked tired. Start a series with Toronto this evening...Hope they are up to the challenge...meanwhile over in Queens, deGrom has managed to pitch an additional 5.2 innings, without hurting himself. Looked awesome though. Mets are looking good, Right now, the Mets and Yankees have identical 70 - 39 Records... wow!

Thanks, Curt. I did scratchbuild the Wyoming depot, collected numerous old photography and compressed the plan a bit cause the building is a monstrosity, still takes up a lot of room.

Dave B - Belated Happy Birthday to your wife and Happy Birthday to your mom.
Same from me too, DAVE B. I meant to say something yesterday, but forgot!
The closeup frontend shot of your switcher is an awesome photo and the wood tepees - well, lots of work both splitting and stacking!

TomO - the layout photos are praise worthy! I especially like the culvert - not seen on very many layouts.
I cannot believe the rainfall you have been receiving? Shove some this way.

JEFFh - You get an extra Gold Star today! What a nice thing to do for Wyatt! It is a real shame to hear about his parents - so sad.😞 My daughter, previous marriage, is now 5 years clean. I really thought that she wouldn't pull out of it. I do not have any sympathy for alcohol nor drug users. I smoked for 50 years and was "hooked" on them, but never wanted to try anything else. Certainly did my fair share of drinking - I guess I am lucky in that respect?

Last time I followed the way of the Willie, I ended up with two kids. 🤣 🤣🤣
You just made me spit my coffee! good one!
Here is a Front End Monday!

Sherrel, since July 4th, the 3 rain events did not total 1” combined. We needed the rain and still do but wow, has the grass turned quickly from dormant brown to it green again! Unfortunately so much rain in Wisconsin is causing floods

Good morning again.

Train hits car, train hits human. Heck the train usually can’t stop and the TRAIN has the right of way. But, still it must be a terrible feeling to be there!

In Marshfield, Wisconsin there is a section of CN track that in the early 2000’s after 9/11 began to be called suicide alley. The local fire crews were responding to folks walking the tracks and getting hit. Usually after an investigation they ruled them as suicides. Mikeinhubcity, it’s from where Quicktrip on Hwy97 downtown next to St. Vinni de Paul’s store is now to S.Oak Ave. the double mainline. I used to do a Hardy’s breakfast before work about 6AM. The window greeter/server was a seemingly great happy guy. Couple trips and he wasn’t there so I asked was he on vacation? Oh no, he went for a walk on the tracks!

Nothing is so bad, one needs to commit suicide.

Tom- in the decade I’ve lived up here, Suicide Alley has been more Central to Vine. The CN mainline is now single-tracked from Cedar Ave to the Town of Spencer(just east of Biewer Lumber).

Alcohol addiction is not fun. Nobody tries to become alcoholic. And by the time you become alcoholic, it's almost too late. It's a shame that the only drug, from which the withdrawal can be lethal, is so widely available... not just available, but there is a very real societal "peer pressure" to drink. Other drugs may be more addictive, but Alcohol is the only drug where the withdrawal from its dependency can be lethal. Other drugs may be easier to overdose on... but alcohol is the only one that can kill you simply by stopping cold turkey.

I truly understand the "no patience" perspective. I was one of the people who used to scoff at alcoholics. Then one day I realized I was one of them. Unfortunately, only a recovering alcoholic truly understands alcoholism.

Sorry.. not trying to preach, but it hits close to home.

In other news, I have decided to sell a couple locomotives to fund a custom paint job on an undecorated loco I just picked up.

Once a few years ago on a picture I posted of the pulp wood pile from across the tracks. A guy went ballastic over model pictures being photo shopped and tried to point out the “shopped” features. Most of my pictures have been taken when I am selling something. I take pictures for myself to review a scene for scenery fixes. I’ve never thought until recently about even learning how to edit pictures. I do know how to turn a picture in my Apple Library.

Looks like I have some catching up to do on some reading all of these posts! Wow!

Well all of my company have all left so now back to the normal/regular schedules. Whew! My sister left Friday and my company from Wisconsin left on Sunday. It has been busy and HOT! Not much fishing time either! Although I took my company fishing Saturday morning for 3 hours in the morning before it got to unbearable to fish in the heat. I did manage to guide them well enough on the upper Hudson to have everyone catch several smallies (smallmouth bass). A couple bream/bluegills and rock bass aka. "Frenchies" some people think they are also called warmouth but noper that would be wrong.

Anyways that was a good morning fishing. I went diving on Wednesday last week in the afternoon in Lake George. It was a work dive as our family camp needed the well points reset for water pumps etc. I was just in 30 foot depth. Water was 72 at the surface and 64 at that depth. Lake George is an all natural spring fed lake from the bottom depths.

Other news is I got a whole bunch of new hoppers 4 bay, 3 bay and 2 bay in recently. Also another Bluford Shops transfer caboose in the MOW MP/UP scheme in MOW green. I have one already but this popped up and it is a different road number! Woo Hoo! Will share that later on the RPO thread along with everything else that came in.

Trainworld......I put in my reservation for the SD70M Union Pacific 4015 that travels with the Big Boy so that will be a nice addition to my set! I am looking forward to that!

Storm clean up is still on going at my parent's property. Not sure if I mentioned it before. They had a tornado hit the week after 4th of July on the 13th. It took out 2 well houses, a gazebo, hit the red barn with roof damage, house roof damage, 3 blown out windows, garage roof damage, studio apartment wall damage, furnace room roof damage, master bedroom roof damage and all fences gone and destroyed....57 trees down that were all 100 years old or more down. 90% pine trees. Lost 3 black walnuts, 1 maple, 2 locust, and 7 red oaks trees. That really sucked! Some trees survived but will need trimming due to broken branches. Parents are ok but stressed and saddened. A mess! Clean-up & repairs will go on for the next 2 months.

Tree contractors started this past Wednesday (last week) after insurance approvals. They had 3 crews working all through the weekend. They made good progress but they have a ways to go....

Unfortunately mom's gardens took a huge hit. Fortunately her raspberries and blueberries will be ok. Everything else is destroyed.

Today is my Pop's birthday. I got a case of his favorite Brandy for his nightly brandy o'l fashions that he drinks.

Alrighty that's it for now. I am in the office to9day. Ya'll have a good one and I will catch up with the events tonight after visiting my parents for diner.

Bluegill, rock bass, sunfish...don't matter what you call them, they are all pretty tasty of you catch enough of them large enough to eat!!!
Unfortunately the last couple of times I took the granddaughter fishing, they weren't big enough for bait.

Mike - speaking of Biewer Lumber, wife and I toured the mill in about 1998, thought it was in Prentice. We sold them logs for a good 10 years, up until the housing bust.

Every treated board I bought with their tag on it, I figured could have been one of my logs!

An N scale Kato SD80MAC with an MRC DCC Sound decoder installed. It's well used, but in pretty good condition. All DCC and sound functions work just fine. I posted a few videos of it a while back. Conrail Quality blue. It's a great puller, but doesn't really fit into my theme very well. It also navigates all my 11.5" radius curves without any issues, which is surprising for such a long locomotive. There is a cosmetic ding on the front left, and the front coupler is also broken, which I assume happened in the same mishap by the original owner. But with the front pilot in place, you never see the ding. It was included in a large lot of train stuff I bought at auction several weeks ago. I've been playing with it. It pulls 42 cars up a 2% grade and around a 15" radius curve at the same time without skipping a beat. Lots of traction, and a smooth and quiet motor. It just doesn't fill my need...

I need want another locomotive dressed up in Ohio Central paint and decals. Which means I need to have a locomotive custom painted because it is almost impossible to find one from factory made that way.

Asking $155 shipped. I have a local guy asking about price for local pickup. I told him $140, and waiting to hear back. It's a great price for sure, but it is used with a ding or 2. I don't have much money in it, and want to move it quickly, so it's priced accordingly.

You can see the ding right behind the pilot, below the steps... small whit-ish colored spec. Has no effect on function. The original hand rails and number boards are included, and have never been installed. There were 2 other circuit boards in the lot. One, I believe to be the original light board. The other has "DC" handwritten on it. No clue if either work, or if they even came from loco to begin with, but this locos was all DC only from the factory.

Pound-for-pound the best fighting and the best tasting fish! A hand-size panfish that gets turned broadside while putting up a fight can feel like a 3 pound largemouth bass.

Good looking unit. Selling stuff online is so hit and miss. I see stuff especially weathering with graffiti that sells in the hundreds for one piece on a cheap model. That seems like a recent trend. I wonder why? Then I see a great price on a worthy piece of rolling stock or locomotives and there’s no action.

Best to you on the sale
