George -- How are you fastening the "new" aluminum brackets to the wall?
I can't figure that out!
BTW - Very nice work on the chimney and shed and everything else!
Here's some photos of the process. I used some of the hardware that came with the shed. I guess to hang shelves on.
I just went to Home Depot and bought 2 more 1/2 X 36 inch aluminum stock. $6.00 each. I bent the aluminum to shape in my garage vice. Very easy to get done. I can hang just about anything on the shed walls now. Makes everything very solid.
George

Two things for your viewing pleasure:

The gutter monkeys made it in to my patio to get measurements. Watching them from the basement via the Ring doorbell camera:

And when I was in college in the 80s, racking up some of that college debt when college was still cheap, this song was popular in our dorm one season... And, you know how boys with stereos are... we all had to try to outdo each other with volume...

Yeah, that drum solo there makes Gene Krupa look like a beginner.
I prefer lyrics that are just a bit more intellectual though. More highbrow, as it were.
But that's just me....

The whole Star Wars concept was hard for me to get into simply because it was supposed to be set in a time long ago. How could there be intergalactic travel that long ago by so many alen races, yet today, we still are alone. At least with Star Trek, it was us that had the technology to go seek out new worlds. And whenever we net superior alien races, they were either benevolent, or only a threat until Kirk kicked their butts.
In a galaxy far far away....

Just a different way of saying not on this planet...

But it was set "in a galaxy far, far away." Kinda like Washington D.C.

Afternoon all,

Don't have parents...They're worse than kids. Spent hours and days setting up an appointment for mom who is bit over 2 hours away to get hearing aids (she's on Medicaid). Tracking down who has what for paperwork and who needs what, mind I am NOT the power of attorney, and suddenly, they cancel the appointment, because she needs a referral from a doctor in the KU medicine groups. Not an outside doctor. Canceled the trip from the car home (they would transport), cancelled a couple of other things we were going to have done. Still need to find another doctor within the KU family to see her, and then send her back to the Audiology Department....The older I get the more I hate KU.

Willie: I have one of those white boxes sitting at home waiting for me. The oldest granddaughter saw it and asked if it was the talking box from TV. She is smart enough to know it doesn't talk, although it might. I've had it a week, and just never where I need it when it's time. I almost would have rather had the colonoscopy. 15 hours for cleanout and done. I know TMI.

Afternoon All,

I had my plans today but MOH overode them. We made a speed run to Patrick AFB (now SFB). I want to watch the British detective shows on Acorn and our TV is old, so the wife decided let's go get a new TV and go to the commisary. We now have a 75" Samsung Crystal Ultra 4K and I don't know what else it has, but it was the one MOH wanted (I was happy with a 55"). The picture is amazing. I'll put it up probably on Saturday.

I start my GI prep at 6pm and I have the dreaded procedure late morning tomorrow so I won't be in Friday.

Thank you for all the photo likes.

Joe- Thank you.

Louis- I hope you and your family get better quickly.

Chet- Cute dog. I really enjoy your layout photos.

Karl- The second photo could be real life.

Jeff- The pier progress and buildings look great.

Sherrel- I am sorry about Irene's diagnosis.

George- Nice job.

Willie- Nice weathering on the cars.

Dave- Thank you. Great layout shot.

Mikey- Nice job on the shed.

I hope everyone has a good night.

TomO and Willie: Yes, definitely loving the job, even when it's crazy busy. Right now I have one work-study kid who helps me but he's only available to work on Fridays due to his class schedule. I hired another student today and he'll start Tuesday. The new one doesn't have any IT knowledge to speak of but he can help me as I work on things, run cable, etc. I'll have him 10 hours a week, so I'll still be by myself most of the time. One of the full-time faculty also helps in IT when he can but right now his teaching duties are keeping him away. He told me he should be able to start helping me again in about a month. The classes I'm taking are going well so far but this is just the first week. Hoping I can keep it up and do well with both this semester. Then I'll take one class next semester and graduate in the Spring.

Good evening. A quiet day here. We finally got some rain, the first rain in almost a month, but then it was too wet to take my girls to the dog park. Got my old pickup running like a Swiss Watch. Doesn't look like much but mechanically I would drive it anywhere (if someone else was paying for the gas). In recent years about all I did with it was to pull forward far enough to mow under it. I had my old bowling partner put it on a trailer and pull it up here. Had to put new wiper blades on it as the ones on it were more than shot. Also put some Stabil in the gas tank. Made a couple of trips to the landfill with it after a good oil change, grease job and a tune up. It's a heavy three quarter ton as they didn't make one ton trucks in 1972. The only think that doesn't work is the A/C. It was changer over to R134 when I put the crate engine in it at 246,000 miles but a year later the compressor froze up. My son wants it to restore with his son. It will be a while because the kid is only one.

Karl - Unfortunately there is no natural gas in this part of the state. Have to rely on an electric water heater. I think it is a 55 gallon, but being that it is only me, I haven't run out of hot water yet. Great photo. From the club?

Terry - She is wanting me to take Cowboy. He is very special to her and she knows how I treat my dogs.

JeffH
- Like the decking. It is a lot of work but worth it. I built a freight station from scratch and the loading dock was built board by board. I'll post a photo below.

James - Are you going to get a discount from ME? That first photo of the chopper really looks evil. One of my favorite shows at the time.

Ken - Enjoy the Tesla. My friend's brother in law from South Dakota of all places bought one and I got to give it a test drive. Awsome. What a hoot. He really had to plan his road trips with it though. An EV wouldn't be very practical here. No charging stations here, but there is one in Kalispell, 90 miles away. Wouldn't work to take a trip to see my son or daughter as it is over 400 miles away. Too much technology for this old fart.

Willie
- Fantastic weathering job. Great work!

Sherre
l - My little long hair dachshund had quite a few teeth removed but she could still strip everything off of a steak bone, it just took her a little longer.

Got the dogs staring at me again wanting dinner. Back to the photo archives. Here's the freight station.

OMG! I remember being in Germany at the time this was released, going to Disco's (remember them?) singing along to this.🤣🤣

My favorite Trio song is "Bum Bum" (pronounced Boom Boom). I have it on a 45

And probably one of my other top 3 or top 5 Trio Favorites: Sabine Sabine Sabine. He is calling is "girlfriend" and you hear just his side.

You're all welcome for the earworm.

A professor/game writer I follow was mad that someone in his neighborhood had DA DA DA thrumming through the streets on repeat while professor was taking his daily walk.

In other news, I ordered a cane from Amazon today.

Looks like I'm into plantar fasciitis for the long haul. Worst case I had was almost three month. This one looks to equal or exceed that. And I want to get my daily walks in.

Headed out with one of the wife's walking/hiking poles. Other than the grip being way wrong for weight support, it helped once I got it figured out and down under my palm.

Soon I'll be shaking it and screaming "YOU KIDS! Get off my lawn!"

Since I live in a condo, it's their lawn to, but who cares.

I have my solar panel array and a level two charging station in my garage. I plugged it in this evening with 80 miles left on the battery. It says I will have a 100% charge in 5hours. A level 3 charger would do it in 45 minutes. a level one, which plugs into a household outlet would take about 15 - 20 hours.

Absolutely. Fridays and Sundays back ten were brutal during prime travel time.
Oh, yes… early 90’s, I worked for a tour company(group escort) during ski season & would go to the Poconos about every 2-3 weeks in winter. That was when they couldn’t link me with a group going to the Catskills, as my preferred destination was Hunter Mountain.

Great cast of characters here along main street (the cars and trucks). Love the REA truck (and station wagon too), as mom's two eldest sisters ran the REA office and station just north of San Diego during WWII.
Good grief! They'd both be a hundred years old and more now.
