I think the finals will be Vegas and Tampa. I would love to say the Leafs can do it but they have to get out of the 1st round and I think the Senators take them to 7 where anything can happen. If the Leafs win in 6 or less the 1st round then I’d say Vegas and Toronto but the Leafs have blown my mind too many times
I would like to see the Devils rematch vs. either the Kings or Colorado in the Finals....or the Capitals and Dallas... then there is the possibility of a final billed as the battle of the Capital Cities....Sens vs. Caps....I love this time of year, looking at the possibilities, and proving the "Experts" and odds makers wrong. The Leafs beyond the first round is a stretch of the imagination.....We will soon find out.

Yes, I had my right knee replaced 16 years ago, with a revision (I broke it) the following year. At this point, the left knee is bone on bone and the Ortho and I were talking about scheduling the replacement of the left side as I tore my left rotator cuff and bicep. Had surgery on both rotator cuffs last year, putting off the left knee. That knee is getting harder to climb stairs and such, causing me to depend more on the replaced knee, causing it to hurt again. I do have other tissue damage on the right side which doesn't help the situation. And I am tossing it around as I used 10 weeks of sick leave last year, and would have to use vacation time. When I return from vacation on Tuesday, I still have 5 weeks of time I could use, but think they'd make me need at least 6 to 8 before I could return to work.
I understand....Let me throw this out....Don't wait until you are retired, do it now, while you have your current benefits and vacation time...The younger you are, the greater your chances of maximum recovery.

My wife had both of hers done prior to retirement. She was bone on bone, so she couldn't wait. She was 64 & 65 when she had hers done and fully recovered with post surgical PT.

The ortho surgeon said she was smart to do it while she had company provided insurance. She was able to get top of the line titanium joints and Mako (Stryker Corp) robotic assisted surgery scheduled in a couple of weeks, in a private surgical center. Our out of pocket for both knees was about $500.

The surgeon said that once you are on Medicare you will only get approved for what is "adequate" and the surgery is usually only in a hospital. He also stated he takes very few Medicare patients, due to the low level of repayment, and will only fit them in if there is a cancellation.

Yup Monday I'll be 59, hard to believe with all the crap I've done in my life that I got this far.
Congrats (on Monday). I feel the same way. I was never a really rowdy guy but have done my share it more of dumb things.

I hit 59 earlier this year. It’s not so bad. Though, having a 9 at the end, makes me feel old. Every decade has been like that. When it flips to a 0 at the end I feel younger for so reason.

60 hit last year.

they say we age in stages. Kind of like walking through a doorway. That was 60 for me. My cold tolerance disappeared. Sciatica went nutz from Spinal Stenosis.

YMMV: Welcome (almost ) to the old farts club

Morning all,

A bit chilly and dreary this morning. Currently 46° with a high later of 54°.

Roofers are replacing roughly 25 Sq on the house roof and 2.75 Sq on the shed. Shed isn't getting the class 4 we're putting on the house as the shed mostly has the mowing equipment and some other larger pieces we're trying to keep out of the way.

kgstakes: Happy birthday on Monday.

Chad: Having a 4 (64) in mine doesn't make me feel younger either.

Troy: My grandson would say you qualify already!

kgstakes: Happy birthday on Monday.

No birthday really bothered me until I turned 60, then it hit me that I was only 5 years from being an "official" senior citizen. Now that I am almost 66 life just goes on.

I did some stupid stuff when I was younger that I'm not proud of and am extremely lucky something really bad didn't happen. One of the BIG lessons I learned in life is, "worry about #1 before you step in #2".

Not going to disagree with the Doc, but...My joint is Titanium. It was done in the Hospital because all the Surgical Centers were closed due to the Covid Panic, so there was no alternative. My understanding and experience is that Medicare pays for Medically Necessary Procedures and Both my Knee Joint and my Aortic Valve were top shelf and state of the art. I do not doubt that some of the so called "Part C" or Medicare Advantage Plans scrimp, as the purpose of Part C is to save costs vs. Standard Medicare, and the savings are split between Medicare and the Insurer. The incentive for the private insurer is to scrimp on service and cut costs. I have Standard Medicare, and a Plan F Supplement, so I do not have co-pays or deductibles to deal with. I also have more access to top Docs, than those with Managed Care Networks do.

You are fortunate if you have access to either a Generous employer plan or a Public Sector Insurance Plan. They are generally more generous with benefits than most Private Sector employer plans, many of which scrimp more than Medicare C. Amtrak's "AmPlan" was the worst. I ever had.

Old is a thought in your mind. I’m 72 heading to 73 in September. I’ve never really thought about being old when I was aging. I do kid about it now occasionally saying it takes a strong person to get old when I’m hurting that day.

I never thought of my mortality until my first cancer surgery in 2011

If you think you’re old at 60 you definitely will be if you make it to 70.

Old in my mind starts at 80 now and maybe adjusted as I close in on it.

We are sitting at the Barnes and Noble coffee shop! No wonder it takes women so friggin long to shop. I got a pair of shoes and 2 pairs of pants that took just over an hour. By myself 20 minutes tops. Then instead of looking at shirts we ended up here for coffee and a snack. Shirt shopping is next at a different store

You're fortunate to have Part F as it is no longer available to new applicants after 2020. Part G is basically the same, but for not paying the Part B deductibles.

Good evening all. Still recovering from whatever 'bug' I have caught. Dawn is in a worse state than me. I haven't a clue where I caught it, but Dawn knows (from me).

Making a chicken curry for dinner tonight

Outside Leeds City Station part of Sovereign Dock. So much has changed from the dark and dismal area I knew so well.

Good evening all!

Got home about 2 hours ago from Florida. It was a great trip. We left this morning at 4:45am, so it took us a little over 15 hours.
Didn't take many photos since this is our 4th time going to Destin, and the area is becoming very familiar to us.

Took the opportunity this week to take some time off and disconnect from the online world including the forum. It was actually kind of nice. Didn't even worry about the news or anything like that.

will be marvelous to sleep in my own bed tonight!

I have like 13 pages to try and catch up on, but will probably only read the last few days.
