Good Morning All. Clear and 34° with a frost on all exposed metal objects this morning. Still going up to the mid-60's today with mild weather for the next ten days at least.
Resumed mowing yesterday after a day off due to the rain Wednesday night. I generally have to mow until mid-December most years, but it's easier than removing snow! I am still shredding small branches and leaves from the oak branches that I removed a few weeks ago. I'll start pruning a few other trees later in the month. I have a few branches already earmarked.
Thanks to all for those likes and comments yesterday; Sherrel, Steve J, Guy, Christian, Hughie, Tom O, Karl, Tom, Rick, IB Ken, Patrick.
Bacon and a pair of sunny side up eggs with a buttered whole wheat English Muffin for me this morning Flo.
I made some progress out in the train shed yesterday on two projects. I completed painting 17 figures and dull coated them.

The one in the lower left is actually a pre-painted Woodland Scenics figure that I just touched up a bit. All of the rest are Presier figures or the cheap Chinese ones that I received as a Christmas gift in 2019. Not all are intended for the current requirements; some were just close to finishing and I was using the right combination of colors to complete them. I should get a few more finished up in the next few days.
I also lightly weathered that P2K covered hopper that I assembled last week. I only used weathering powders and I need to use paint to complete the trucks. I generally only lightly weather my equipment and only include graffiti on about 10% of the freight cars.

It doesn't seem like much, but slow progress is better than no progress.
So speaking of progress, we all know the difference between pro and con, so does it also carry over into progress and congress?
OB Ken -
We all had zero skills when we started. As far as time, the best thing that I did was to turn off the TV. Then I practiced on some really cheapo Tyco and Lifelike freight cars and structures.
Steve J -
Underset shank raises the coupler head up.
Jaz - What is it about telephone wire causing fires? I use some because I salvaged over 1000' from work. I currently use it for my control system, from the plug-in jacks back to the power supply; and I am also using some for my lighting busses.
Garry - Keep on plugging away at recovery. We're all behind your efforts.
Watch out all of you young or single men. Today is Sadie Hawkins Day. If you need to ask, then don't worry.
Have a great day and an awesome weekend. Stay safe and warm.

Phone wire creats a bit of resistance and will cause slow down of trains as well as poor sound emmission.searching for dangers of fire using telephone wire in model railways or similar should give you a hint of the risk, and your lovely layout must be worth a bloody fortune.![]()
Telephone Wire?
Please do not laugh me off frisco.org if the answer is no. (Not that I really think anyone would.) The current drops in some places around my DC...www.frisco.org
check this out first one I found, I do not have the technical head to discuss, the other half gave me a dirty look when I asked, he has said in the past anyone investing in a reasonable investment of railway stock often going into thousands needs their head read, he was a technician for years before moving into IT, he says saving money using telephone wire is sheer madness, if you have telephone wire, I would (and I expect you do) turn the whole lot off when you are not in the area, and two have one or in your case two appropriate extinguishers - in date - just in case - he says the ‘potential’ for a fire is not worth the risk. I know several well respected modellers with electric / electronic back grounds who say the risk to the layout is not wort
Just as long as there isn't a trap door under the carpet where you're standing. And so it begins…
I was called in to work today, and called on the carpet for a myriad of slights and missteps, real or perceived, whether I was directly involved or not.

You have a Texas Special there with the rubber band drive system.Good afternoon gang!
Woke up at 4 a.m. either Taco Bell (dinner) or Dominos (lunch) reacted with me, giving me the sweats and shakes, and a desire to drive the porcelain bus, but after the worst passed I slept till 1030 and am all better now. Temps in the lower 50s and rain outside, I'm staying in the basement today.
Big puter has a new power supply and is playing Rolling Stones videos while I'm playing on the lil puter. Wife and son #4 are at Hood College today. He's now been accepted into the BioMed program there also, so he went to visit.
Speaking of the lil puter, I found some unpublished pics of the old layout,View attachment 135364
This is for Sherril, the lead unit is actually my very 1st HO loco, circa 1964. All 3 have been repowered with Walthers FA1 chassis , can motors and DCC, of course.

Son #3 running trains at the Timonium scale show in 2002 (He's now much bigger) That corner section still resides in my basement, and will be incorporated into the new layout.

OK, I do like "critters" Little engines that do big jobs. Here a freshly released set of cow/calf Athearn hustlers out of the shop for a Roster shot. The "B" unit hasn't received its number yet.
Thats enough for now, BBL

It WAS rubber band drive, now silky smooth can motor gear driveYou have a Texas Special there with the rubber band drive system.
The way his luck has been going…I would not rule it out!Just as long as there isn't a trap door under the carpet where you're standing.
Afternoon All,
I did a push and finished the first mine (I have 2) portion of the layout. I may add more people and vehicles later. MOH called last night and said she would be home tomorrow afternoon instead of Monday. Next up on the layout is the power plant and transmission yard (or whatever it's called).
I took a look at the first and though sweet then looked at the group and the night picture, love it.
Awwwwwww look at that face those eyes, lovely pet for the kidsGood morning from Paradise where it seems of the 5 of us here I am the only one not hugging the throne this morning. They all had fish last night at dinner. Not me, I had a ridiculously expensive Waygau beef hamburger with lettuce with 1 slice of tomato $2.00 extra. They need a 5 Guys or Mooyah Hamburgers on this island. I grabbed the bill before the brother got it and I sort of am in shock. I will be calling the restaurant this morning around 11. If no satisfaction I will be calling the local health authorities. No one should be sick because of a meal.
Today’s golf is cancelled per the brother who made a couple calls at 7 this morning.
Just received the following pictures introducing the newest member of the daughter’s family. Here is Crosby, named after Mason of the GB Packers not Sydney of the Penguins. 8 weeks old yesterday

Yeah probably very true, watch your back, hang in there, that long drive may sound attractive about now but it will be nasty in bad weather.you may want to write down their complaints and reference them in the future, forcing people to quit saves them loads of cash so just hold your head high and don’t get conned. If you go go under your terms, not with a sucker punch.Terry
Have courage. They want you to quit so that you cannot collect unemployment. I worked for a new owner of a company who refused to fire anybody but tried to make it so difficult that employees would walk off. Look for new employment but don’t let them make you quit. Good luck and chin up, your time will come.
