Ah yes the Chicago black hole!

Hopefully you will have much better luck with it than I do. I always pray my stuff doesn't route through Chicago. If it does it always seems to bounce around the Suburbs for an extra 3 or more days. Luckily it doesn't happen too often.

If It goes to St. Louis distribution center its almost guaranteed I will get it next day.

After St. Louis bounces it around between the DC and the Sort Center for a couple of days. I've never seen work performance like I have from the US Postal disService.

I have the same results

Good evening gang!

Been a long day. Bloodwork and xrays this morning, then watching the grandkids while the movers load up their house. Then a top to bottom cleanup of the house. My truck came home with stuff they didn't want to take for later disposal. I couldn't help much but to keep an eye on the dog and the gkids. All their stuff will be in NC by tomorrow, they expect to be at the house by 3 a.m.

Needless to say no trains today!

Tomorrow the therapy witch should be here at noon, otherwise I shall be in the basement all day!

123 blocks look like a good idea, gotta get some!

Peace out homies!

My pet peeve is FedEx.

The driver/drivers routinely deliver the neighbors package to our address. Saves them a mile on a dead end gravel road, or just incompetent?

Our address is 20660. We have that in two places along the main road, and a sign with my name.

The neighbor is 20060.

If they leave their package here, I have to complete the delivery. There is no way to send the package back, plus would add a couple days and probably screw up the neighbor.

(EXPLETIVE HERE)
Your neighbor is lucky that you are a good person. Once a package is delivered to the wrong address the receiver has no legal obligation to give it to their neighbor or return it.

If you receive something you didn't order, by law it is yours. As dastardly as that sounds it prevents sellers from sending items followed by a bill that many honest people might pay.

The unscrupulous people of this world make things bad for everyone.

Good morning, Everybody!

Our new Maytag 25 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator/Freezer is coming from Costco today. Don't ask me why we need such a big unit. But my wife wanted something that fit the space the other one was in. "Happy wife, happy life"

The upside is we can empty the chest freezer and turn that off. My wife eats like a bird. My appetite has greatly diminished, and we no longer have the annual 4th of July parties or big holiday meals. When our grandson comes to visit now that he has his learner's permit, I let him drive us to a restaurant. I've never eaten out so much in my life. I prefer home cooking, but my grandson needs practice.

Add to that I have finally controlled my obsession with buying meat on sale. At one time I had three whole pork shoulders, six 23+ lb. turkeys and more in our chest freezer. I needed an intervention, but I managed to quit cold turkey! 🤪

My Orioles had the night off, as my wise friend pointed out, "On the bright side, ...they cannot lose when they are not playing." This has been a most unusual and difficult year for my Birds. But I will always bleed Orange. "It aint over till it's over" I stuck by my Birds in 1988, win or lose I can stick with them this year.

With my Birds having the night off that gives me a chance to watch other games on MLB.TV. It looks like I'll start with Philly @ Houston. I prefer low scoring close games. 2-1 was the best in MLB yesterday. There were four shutouts yesterday, they are always fun to watch.

I'll be heading to the Dundalk Amazon station soon. I have no control over what other drivers do, but I will do my best to keep my perfect record for customer satisfaction and delivery completion going.

"Do your best, and let God worry about the rest"

Have an enjoyable day Everybody!

I once sent a parcel to my parents, they live three miles away in a straight line BUT they are in a completely different postal district so my tracked (supposed to be next day delivery!!) parcel went on a four hundred and fifty mile, four day round mystery tour of south east England before finally making it to its destination.

I could have walked it there quicker....

Don't eat cold Turkey Dogs. Put those back and get the good Armor Hot Dogs. Or the Oscar Meyer ones. They have the best tv jingles.

PS: I like the pun you worked in there

Good morning all. A cloudy day with showers forecast.
A large coffee please, Flo. I'll have a piece of that carrot cake as well please.

Stories of all the parcels travelling around the country that should just 'go down the road'.
It makes my story quick (and almost unique). I ordered a little 0.4.0ST locomotive and within 48 hours was at Sovereign Street having its photograph taken. Delivered by Royal Mail I add.

Daughter and grandchildren visiting this weekend, so should be 'entertaining'.

A 1950s style Triang GWR boxvan has all new running gear. The van is a 'long way from home', but there is a war on (1914 - 1919) everything has to be used. :)

Good morning gang!

66° under cloudy skies, looking for a high today of 74°. There is a chance of a shower around noon otherwise just cloudy today.

The grandkids texted us around 3 AM this morning that they had just arrived at the new house. The moving truck with all their stuff should be there around 7 AM. Your daughter and son-in-law must be absolutely whipped. At least the kids could sleep in the car on the way there.
Does she make you call her Mistress?
Oh dear God, no!

Gee, Louis I had to turn that off asap. Kids in adverts a NO from me. Sorry.

The 1970s were a different time. And if you wanted to sell Bologna to moms, you worked on the kids.

That Said - I see your point. As a news photographer in a small Indiana town, I was responsible for getting "art" for the front page every day unless something major hit the National news (or sports like the Indy 500 race).

Back then in the 1980s-90s I could easily jump out of my car and snap photos of some little kids jumping in puddles or walking to school. Parents loved to see their little kiddos on the front page of the paper. Kids and animals above the fold sold copies.

Doing that in today's world would get me shot, then my boss called to come pick up my body. They'd probably keep the camera gear.

I transitioned to wedding photography in the 2000s and got to photograph weddings of two sisters whom were the subjects of a photo I took at a local "pancake breakfast" (fundraiser for a local civic group). I know because the father of the brides told everyone I was the official family pancake photographer.
