in the picture you can see the honeymoon tunnel. could maybe someone tell me how wide the passage between the two tunnels is? its more or less 4 cars long it looks like. are those 40 feet or longer containers?

thank you for your help and good luck with this morning quiz :)

Cheers

I believe google earth has a ruler function to take measurements.

I think those are either 48 or 53 foot containers. I can't enlarge the pic enough to be sure. The area between tunnels looks like about 200 feet.

Morning all,

73° and clear, high later of 90° again, however it was 93° yesterday.

Cucumbers were good. They were the right size for the type. Pepper was a little thinner fleshed than I like, but way early and was sinking into the ground. Wife surprised me by adding chilled beets I cooked last week and cut some carrot coins into the salad mix.

Beverage of choice on me today! I have a few extra bucks from the overtime last week.

TLOC: Thanks for sharing the tree video.

Good morning gang!

82° already with the daytime high expected of 93°, which is a feels like temp of state heck inside.
Sitting here, eating breakfast of scrambled egg and sausage, links and lo and behold, and ocular migraine. Decides to visit me. Must’ve heard us discussing them the other day.
Not much on the agenda today I do have the home healthcare physical therapist coming in today, but other than that, I’m playing in the basement.

I finally decided that I needed to finish up applying the details to the 5 Japanese old style coaches that I've been putting off as I hate applying dry rub decals. I also needed to install the tiny, itty-bitty hand rails - and this is HO scale.

So they only gave me 8 hand rails to install in 8 positions. Of course, one went flying and landed in never never land. So after a lot of cursing, I finally accepted the fact that some folks will only have one handrail as they board that one car.

And the decals, oh boy. None of them are straight, just like Little Bill's house in Unforgiven. But, from here, those little white blobs add some break up of the all brown cars, so its all good.

On another note, it seems my daphnia culture crashed. I fed them spirulina and I guess it didn't sit well with them. I have 3 cultures going and one crashed, so not sure why. I vacuumed out the stuff on the bottom of the tank and added old, water change water from the pond, so will see if they can recover.

Starting up the brine shrimp tank for this season.

Good morning, Everybody!

It was already 90 when I got to the Amazon station. Of course they sent me even further into the city. Due to the number of large packages, we were done in two hours. They can only give me so many. So, we got paid to go the grocery store, thankfully my favorite store, Redner's opens early. We normally do two routes/blocks, but not in this heat!

As a bonus I found a beautiful 9lb Sirloin Tip for "only" $5.59/lb. I say only because I don't live in the past. Jumbo Eggs were "only" $3.39/dozen. Grocery prices seem to be stable. But I really don't pay much attention, we have to eat.

If only fuel prices would come back down. Regular unleaded jumped $0.30/gallon in the last two weeks. Fortunately for us we have been working out of the Amazon station in Dundalk. It's only 1.5 miles from our house and the routes/blocks are closer to our home. Which means I am driving 50% fewer miles. This morning, I didn't drive much over 20 miles including going to the grocery store.

The roast is seasoned and, in the Weber Kettle. I have the replay of the Orioles game on, life is good. It would have been even better if they had won. Next, I'll watch the rundown recap next to see what went on in MLB yesterday.

Enjoy the day Everybody!

So you are an Amazon delivery guy? I noticed I get the same bunch of folks delivering when I order from them. You use your own POV or a company vehicle?

My wife and I are independent contractors, we work together. We are a part of what is known as the Amazon Flex program. We use our Chevy Equinox. We can work out of many different Amazon stations; we seldom have the same routes twice, but it happens occasionally.

Drivers of Amazon's vehicles usually have the same routes every day.

That's cool! Guess they pay good to off-set the gas.

Good morning all!

Happy Hump Day!

Currently 76F heading up to a high of 87F. Under partly cloudy skies.

Had a late night early thunderstorm move thru the area. Dog knew about it an hour or so before it happened,
so I was up with her for several hours. It was one of those really enjoyable storms. Nothing severe about it, just
a really nice lightning display and the rain wasn't really all that heavy. Lasted around an hour. We really needed
the rain. Could use a bunch more.

No real plans for the day. We shall see what unfolds. I do know another afternoon in the pool is in order.

Have a safe day everyone!

Wonder if that's how Walmart works as well. They are always advertising they want drivers. I have thought about doing a couple days a week for a little extra train money. We have a huge distribution center about 20 minutes away, and I think they work out of there. Its never the same driver, and it appears they use their own personal vehicle.

Not if they can help it. But my wife makes sure we get paid well. Amazon puts the blocks/routes out on their app. She waits for the rates to go up before she accepts any work.

In the Baltimore metro area drivers of Amazon's vans can have more than one thousand packages. I find fifty to be daunting! But that is the most we get.
