How close is that to where I-81 crosses over the road and yard? The Feds building that may have been a factor, but I remember that spot used to have standing water in it "a lot".
I-81 highway crossing is at the west end of the yard, about 3 miles away. Yes there are some tracks at west end which are pretty close to the river level, since west end has flying junctions.

Be careful with rattlesnakes. In some states they are protected and if you are caught harming one, you can be charged (for example in Utah). It appears from my search I just did, that in Texas, only 3 of the 10 rattlesnakes known to be in Texas are protected under the law.

We'd gotten rid of rattlers in Indiana... then some dunderhead at the DNR decided to reintroduce them. Now I won't hike nor camp at a few of our state parks. They're teritorial little buggers, and moved into the campground.

Asked the ranger what they do with the ones reported in the campground.

"We catch them, keep em in a pen for three days. Then we have to release them again, because they're protected in this state."

You release them far away, right?

"Nope, right where we caught them. They're territorial, and if they can't find their territory they'll die."

That's a bad thing?

I got the evil ranger glare.

No apologies, but my family is the protected species at my house!

Anyway, hit a really nice hobby shop here in Branson today. Picked up some wheelsets, a WS Scenic Detail two pack, some paint and Kato Unitrack for a HO TTrak module. Lunch at Olive Garden that was delicious and then we relaxed the rest of the day.

Where I live, we dispatch them. Forthwith.

I have mine checked every so often, as recently as May. I suffer from what my doctors refer to as "white coat syndrome". My BP is always higher in a medical establishment of any kind, including my dentist's office.
I have WC syndrome also.

I had to keep a record for a couple of weeks to satisfy my Dr. I recorded my bp right when I got up before coffee, an hour after working out, and after dinner. My Dr is fine with it now.

All native snakes are considered protected here in OR. If you find one in your home or a building and don't release it once it's outside the FWS can site you for "relocating wildlife without a permit".

Very strange to see a sister Vectron locomotive running in the States.
The ACS-64 (City Sprinter) seems to be designed from both EuroSprinter (Taurus) and Vectron. It doesn't look too much like a Vectron to me (which is good as I'm not keen on the Vectron face). I prefer the Taurus look though the City Sprinter probably has a lot of the system and electronic upgrades from the Vectron. I have a couple Vectron models but a lot of the Taurus.

The other one that is weird to see is the ALP-46, which is basically an American version of the DB Class 101... And the ALP-45, an evolution of the ALP-46 and TRAXX locomotives. Those look weird to see...

I leave all snakes alone here on the SFW estate, as they consume rodents. I have NO rattlers, Copperheads or Water Moccasins here or anywhere nearby...that I have seen. Mine are all what we refer to as rat snakes or chicken snakes, the same creature. They tolerate me and I tolerate them.
Look the other way Troy.

This one grew to over 8' before disappearing, I have the shed skin to prove it! . Here it is about 5'. My wife would have a heart attack if she knew that I was this close to it.

NO MORE SNAKE PICS!

You all are making me jump out of my chair and climb the walls.

On a different note, I got happy foam today!

It came with this thing:

And it has the wrong type of film on the bottom of the vat. I don't like the ACF film. It bloats the prints, but help print faster. I don't need fast but fat soldiers. I'm slow and fat. I'd rather have slow and skinny toys.

But, I screwed up.

The printer kept giving me a residue in vat alert.

Two cleaning cycles later I finally figured it out. Not residue.

I forgot that there are TWO sheets of protective liner on the plastic FEP sheet. I only removed the blue one. The clear one was well camouflaged. Until it got heated up in the vat during exposure.

Fortunately, I ordered a 5-pack of the nFEP sheets.

The second install, I removed both protective sheets.

But, while troubleshooting, I damaged the brand new screen protector on the exposure screen. The print screen is pricey to replace. So I emergency ordered some from Amazon. We'll see if Louis gets the call to drive it out here tomorrow.

Here's the vat back in place. That's all I'm doing tonight. It takes most of an hour to change the vat FEP out. 46 different screws with hex heads. all but 4 of them are 2mm hex wrenchable. The other four are 2.5mm.

I'll clean it up better and blow the dust out tomorrow when I put in the new screen protector.

Speaking of ads. I've been alternating between Etsy and eBay women (mostly pretty tame) in my ads on the forum. However, for some reason tonight, Kenshin showed up. (He's the samurai looking figure on the end). I'm not sure how that happened...

Kenshin is the main character from the manga Rurouni Kenshin. It later became an anime. It's very good. Has some cool beginning/ending music as well.

Louis. I have a Greenworks string trimmer that died after a year and a half. Took it apart and found 1 motor lead had a bad solder joint. A little solder and shrink wrap and it is as good as new!
Well done!

I took my lawn mower apart to give it a good cleaning and once over at the end of winter. This year I noticed the blade was not spinning as fast. I'm all but deaf but for some reason I can still hear things like that. On hot days it was worse. it would occasionally engage thermal protection. I suspect some of the windings are damaged. Yesterday it got progressively worse until she wouldn't run but a few seconds before cutting out.

The good news was that I was able to finish the front yard!

DB announced the retirement of the Br.101 late last year. The Br.120 was retired also, about a year ago. Private railroads are buying up both.

Marco thank you but…

I took my tree building direct from Luke Towan (nka as Ellie) of Boulder Creek Railroad’s YouTube videos. I built them exactly the way he did. She has been transitioning since 2024 which explains the absence of new videos per her comments on the lead page of her Boulder Creek site

A few years later I took some tips from Boomer Diorama but for the most part I keep to the original build videos
Oh i "know" her. will give the video a go. thnx
