You know... if the Pacers had put Caitlyn Clark in during game 7 when whatshisname got injured...

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those wondering where Troy's new 3d printer is???

(it's not lost yet. Evidently it's mostly MRR locos and anything for Terry that go walk-about)

It's Troy again.

Needed to charge the apple watch when I went to bed. A god 15 minutes of charging will get it through the night and record my sleep pattern. I remember getting up once. And waking because I was coughing. Turns out my face was aimed right at the fan. The cool dry air dried me out. A position adjustment helped with that. Then up at 4:15... oops forgot to put the watch on. Now I'll never know how I slept! :p

Not much on the schedule today. Need to hit the grocery for some odds and ends like Cat Litter.

Looks like hot and humid with thunder-boomers moving in later and into tomorrow.
Interestingly, I just learned we're almost 800ft above sea level.

I asked the AI overlords about sharing videos world wide. Assuming the vid is set to public viewing, here's possible reasons:

  • Regional Restrictions: Some YouTube videos may be blocked in specific countries or regions due to licensing rights chosen by the video owner or due to local laws.
  • YouTube Blocking: YouTube may also block specific content to comply with national laws.
Could be. I know I can't buy any music in mp3 format from the US jungle site anymore. I can order the cd though...

Quick way to test is if someone can paste the url into the thread. I'll copy the url and go straight that way. I am currently watching sweet jane.

Thanks!

I just tested my browser settings by adding modelrailroadforums.com into my ad blocker exceptions list. Nah, that didn't work for the videos, but I did get to see a whole bunch of shtuff show up. Yup, immediately removed the exception.
The way Youtubez is getting more aggressive about ad blockers, that may be a reason. Not through here, but them in general.
And if you saw some sketchy ads on this forum, let Bob know. Historically, if he doesn't watch the ad serving company like a hawk, they'll start inundating us with tons of ads, and many of them not suitable for viewing much of anywhere.

Good morning from very wet and humid So. Central Wisconsin. Up and at them at 5:10 this morning 2nd thing I did was check the rain gauge. 4” exactly in it.

I don’t need a watch to tell me how I slept. From 12:05 very good to 4:25. After that till get up at 5:10 lousy. YMMV. Just teasing Troy

It is 68f degrees now feels like 68 and heading to 80 per the WeatherChannel app. The rains return at 6:45 but at 8am in the form of possibility severe thunder storms. Our morning weather is going to miss Mike (Migalyto) down in Mendota, Il. per my radar map. But around 4pm it looks like the same system is going to get us both. Looks like another forced to stay indoors day.

I really need a decision about my layout! I’m vacillating and that’s not good. With my intentional reduction in weathering commissions I have gained a lot of free time and I need something else to do.

Today the plan was to check out the Madison Parade of Homes. The rain may cancel that and we will do it tomorrow. It runs till the 29th. There are 34 homes open for inspection including the daughter’s house even though it’s not move in ready. We have a section of property Terry says we should put some “spec” homes on so we are checking out contractors to see what we like. Housing in our area is still out of this world crazy busy. We’ll see as we stopped doing spec homes in 2014 when I retired. She’s the numbers cruncher and expert, I go by feel and she’s usually more right then me!

Enjoy the day

Seen on my morning trek to the big box store.

I have a friend who is notorious for finding single shoes on her strolls or walkabouts. She posts photos off them regularly.

Though, I suspect this one was willingly abandoned. Poor girl now limping through whatever formal event she was on her way to...

While I was there I purchase a pair of shorts and new ankle socks for summer. My old ones were getting loose enough they're spinning on my feet as I walk. Nothing like a bare heel, because the bottom is now on top.

Morning all,

73° and cloudy. Humidity 90% making it feel like 78°, high of 90° later today.

Had a brief round of rain in my part of the state yesterday, only got a quarter of an inch. Not sure where it came from as there really was none predicted. Might get some later.

Picked the 2 cucumbers last night before they got too big. Having a salad for supper tonight and the fresh ones taste better chilled. So that's 2 free cukes as I didn't deliberately plant them.

I've done that.

The worst flat roofs (for the roofer) are made from coal tar pitch. Tearing those roofs off requires you cover your skin completely, wear a mask and use a cream like sunscreen to neutralize the dust containing sulfur. If not, it will burn you worse than a bad sunburn. Or cause respiratory problems.

When installing an asphalt roof the hottest job is "cooking" the asphalt. That is the guy who runs the propane heated kettle used to liquify asphalt to be pumped onto the roof. The delicate part of the job is to keep the asphalt well above 400F, but if it gets over 500F it can flash into flames. You don't want 500+ gallons of asphalt to burst into flames. It's a fantastic job to have in winter, but it can be brutal in the summer. I know firsthand.

Roofers typically work from sunrise to sunset. But it can be a high paying job for skilled workers. I've made as much as $75/hour as an independent contractor working for roofing companies.
Wet mopping a roof.....one of the most miserable jobs I can imagine. You definitely earn your money.

Google morning,

A cool 54f, calm winds.

Heading up to Willow River to get rid
of old paint and recycling, then lawn mowing, followed by the train shed. Continued ballasting and landscaping yesterday, getting down to the final 20%.

Tom- 256 trees? The layout must be massive.

We had our first Kale from the garden last night up here in the northland. DELICIOUS

Have a great morning !

I believe the ads are based on location. Mine were all in Japanese. Typically little girls with big things Don't know what they were selling and don't need to see that stuff.
