It ran well in my most recent video and generally has been a good runner, at a reasonable speed, but now does not like to play,
Yeah, it looked good in that video and in the one from 7 months ago. So she used to run for a while and then die, now she don't run at all. Sounds like motor or faulty wire connection. Cold solder joints would stop working after they heat up. Have you tried applying power directly to the motor? Sorry if this is a repeat if already covered.

CDs...
I may or may not have posted this before, but in 2007 we went through a pretty radical downsizing with our house. Pretty much anything not essential was shed off. I had rented a small storage unit for the things we didn't want to part with, and one of those things was my 4000+ CD collection. We had a pair of very large picnic coolers, the kind you'd use for several cases of beer, and I carefully placed the CDs in those coolers, with the intention of storing them in the place I'd rented for that purpose. My wife had arranged for one of the charity organizations to come to the house and pick up whatever we hadn't sold or promised to friends or family. I had to tow our second travel trailer to North Florida over the weekend to drop off at the buyer's place. So, I was not home when the Salvation Army showed up to haul our stuff off. Among the things they unknowingly hauled away was two large picnic coolers filled with my CD collection.
When I got home Sunday, my first question was, "where are the coolers full of CDs?"
Of course, when I called Salvation Army on Monday morning, they didn't know what I was talking about...
I was--unhappy in the extreme.
Years ago, I was in the same boat…
Boxes and boxes of CDs…mostly jazz… when online music became a thing, I started uploading my CDs using iTunes Match as the destination…

Probably have 12,000 plus songs in the cloud now… all but a few of the CDs are gone… I gave them to a friend who was interested in jazz

I much prefer music in the cloud … I can take them anywhere…random play… no physical CDs to handle…

Sleep: Made it to 6 am, though I was awake for about an hour from 2a to 3a.

Heading to the game store in a few hours. We'll see if I take enough cash to buy one guy out of his dwarven minis for the game.

And this came to mind.

I agree! I saw them open for Def Leppard in 1980 or 1981. Before Def Leppard became bubble gum pop. I still love early Punk/Metal from England and listen to it regularly.

Blackfoot blew me away! They were nothing like I was expecting. I was expecting something like Lynard Skynyrd, maybe Molly Hatchet, what I heard was more like Judas Priest! They rocked as hard as most any Heavy Metal band I had ever seen.

Blackfoot is/was an elite live band! Combined with Def Leppard in their prime it was one of the best shows I had ever seen. I think I paid about $8-$10 or to sit up close, eight-ten rows back in the center of the floor.

Happy USA Flag Day Everybody!

For those of us who were born or live here it is a true Blessing. As my wife often says, "So much depends on where a person is born" She is usually referring to people born in the USA but not in the best of circumstances. I wasn't born with a silver spoon, but I was able to rise above my station because of this great country! The American Dream has always been alive and well. If you are willing and able to work hard and make it happen!
The mixer did an awesome job with this track. It is full and has depth and fidelity (if that makes sense). A lot of stuff that I hear seems flat. I used to like GRP productions before for this reason. The song sounds cool too!

For this year's Father's Day, the son is coming over to help replace one of the air conditioners on the trailer. It's been giving me problems for a while, and yesterday, it failed completely. I guess the manufacturer's lifespan estimate of 9 years is somewhat overstated. By about 4 years...

This is the second time the USPS has seemed to lose another order this time from Walmart that was last seen only about 50 miles from here about 5 weeks ago and is now lost somewhere in the postal system. Two in a row for them. The first being from Ebay. I guess I have to get a refund from Walmart. I wouldn't be sending any gold in the mail that's for sure.

Good morning from smoke haze covered Wisconsin. My part is at 67f degrees heading into the high 70’s.

Hit the sidewalk this morning with the brother. 40 minutes out, no rest today and came back. Yesterday I gave him 2 ski pole things to walk with instead of the cane he’s been using. Seems better for balance for him.

Today at noon I am going to inspect the progress at the daughter’s new house. I’ve gotten a few videos from the contractor the last few weeks I’ve been gone but today we will do a walk through. The contractor has all 3 of his 3 person interior crews working on the house. They are a good 2 months and maybe 3 ahead of schedule. The contractor says his house building backlog has slowed down. Area construction is up but it’s multi residential stuff that he says he doesn’t want to do. He said yesterday he hasn’t spec built a house in years but will build 2 this Fall to keep his Crews busy over the Winter.

Enjoy the day

It still runs fine for periods of time. I am pretty sure it is an electrical pickup issue.

This particular locomotive was put together using parts from two junk locomotives and one new in the box, never assembled model mfg date 1960.

The never assembled model had wheels that were severely corrupted by time due to a faulty alloy they used, and I changed them out with older solid wheels.

I love a challenge, but this one is beginning to test my patience.

Bill, I like to say any male can be a father, but it takes a real man to be daddy.

I don't know jack-squat about the technical aspect of music. I like what I like. @santafewillie is our resident music expert. I'm glad to see we have another and I'm glad you liked the song. That album "Juggernaut" has a few great songs on it.

You have a good son! I'm glad to see the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

I love a challenge, but this one is beginning to test my patience.
Don't let it get to you. I'm sure you got your money's worth, and you found a replacement, life is good!

I like tinkering, modifying, trying to improve my stuff. I've been on a coreless motor swap out program for some of my older equipment. Some have worked awesome, some have not but am still trying to figure out why not.

I didn't want for such a beautiful loco to get sidelined to the shelf so decided to lob in a couple of pennies. Those were kits? wow!

Air conditioner has been replaced, and the kid took me out for brunch after. The sit-down restaurants were waiting outside for tables, so we went to a fast food emporium instead. I ordered the breakfast with hotcakes. When our food arrived, I had syrup, but no hotcakes. I went up and asked for them, and was told I didn't order them. If I didn't order them, why did they give me a container of syrup? Person behind the counter sighed, and handed me an order of hotcakes.
I'm not having the best of luck lately getting my orders, and getting them correct.
