Weather:
Mostly sunny toward daybreak then mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms through early afternoon. Mostly cloudy with showers with a chance of thunderstorms late this afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph becoming southwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph late this afternoon. Chance of rain 80 percent.
Have a great day! ;)

Good morning folks, it's just after 4AM, 68 here with rain ongoing already. Woke up about 2AM with an acid reflux, YUCK. Anyway drank some milk, that seems to help but camped out in the recliner as not gonna get horizontal before getting up...
Not even gonna touch coffee this morning either...
Gonna be damp all day, so probably not going to get the last few minis rattlecanned today, maybe tomorrow will be more cooperative. That means detail working when I get back in the swing of painting later.
Anyway, you all have a good day.

Milk here too. 1% (watching my waist...expand).

CO Front range. HOPING this next week will be a soggy, rainy week. We really need it here.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those lucky enough to know what a concrete mixer is...
It's Troy again
Hint:

It's Troy again.

Wife and I live close enough to a Culvers that we can walk in about 20 minutes. We never do, because if we get ice cream, wife wants to come home, and become safely ensconced in her tv watching position before she eats it. I can't walk fast enough to get home before the frozen treats totally melt. So we drive.

And then my mixer has to go into the freezer for about 30 minutes to re-solidify what melted on the 10 minutes it takes to get home. (Darn stoplights). I tell her it's not fair that she can eat part of hers while I drive, but I only get one brief stop at the light to try to drain off the melted goo before I have to put it down and keep driving.

Screwed up last night, and only got one hearing aid correctly seated in the charger. So I need to go to plan B for an hour. Tinnitus is buzzing loudly so I've got the earpods in, tethered to the computer, listening to "Tinnitus Sound Therapy" of a babbling brook with some white noise (static) added. Trying to get that just under the tinnitus level to make my brain focus on hearing the brook.

So, shaking out the charger for the hearing aids, and doing a wipe on the contacts is on my list for today.

Not sure what else is going on beyond cooking Frijoles Charro, and Aroz Roja (hope I remembered my Espanol well enough to spell that correctly). Here's my recipe for the beans

Hoping my wife digs in like this:

We'll see...

Good morning all!

Happy Friday to the workers of the world!

Currently 60F with an expected high of 73F, Storm chances return later today.

Have the usual Friday stuff to get done today. Need to wash sheets and comforters from both beds, empty dishwasher, might
need to do a load of towels as well. Not sure if I will mow today or wait till tomorrow.

Tonight is our last travel volleyball practice for the season. We have our last tournament on Sunday then its all over. She says she
is not doing it again next year, but i have heard that the last 2 years.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good morning gang!

58° under partly cloudy skies this morning with a high expected labor

Going to take a trip to to the dump today, then swing by Lowe’s with the trailer and pick up a load of mulch, probably 25 bags. Lots of other activities to do outside today. Tomorrow should be rainier. Should the basement will get my attention then.
BBL

Good morning. 60°F and thundershowers this morning. Woke me at 0530 with a loud rumble, but that was after the turbo-Diesel alarm clock at 0430. I rolled over until 0615 and caught a few more Zs then decided to get up.

Nothing going on here with all the rain. Supposed to stop by noon, but then redevelop later this afternoon. Tomorrow is supposed to be clear so I guess I'll get to the grass if it dries out enough.

Have a great weekend! Servus!

40s again this morning, headed to mid-upper 50s today.

Wife and I are headed upstate for the weekend to North Conway, NH. Not sure if the Conway Scenic RR is open for the season yet or not. Hoping to swing by there at some point. This is a planning meeting for our Jeep trip on the Rubicon Trail this summer. Cross country drive and then a few days camping on the trail. One of the couples is coming out of New Brunswick Canada, the other two from NH. Need to iron out meal planning, spare parts and tools so that we all aren't carrying too much stuff. No sense in everybody having a full set of tools when we can spread the load out, etc. We will have a welder if we have to make trail repairs. There is no cell service on the trail but one of the couples bought a Star Link the other day. Interested to try that.

Dan is our main mechanic, Dr. Mike is our medical professional, Megan is our welding expert (Mike and Dan weld too, LOL), Sue and I are the cooks and I am the comms guru. My wife will not be running the trail with us so she will be the emergency contact.

Good morning to those who now know what a concrete mixer is. It’s humid after the overnight rain. The high today should be 68f degrees or 15 less than yesterday. On and off T-storms were yesterday’s guess by the weather folks. Radar shows rain coming but no t-storms!

Off to a work session 45 minutes north. I have missed the last 4 Fridays and the guys say they have made some great progress.

The grandson has early out this afternoon from school. 12 are trekking home with him for some slot car racing. This will be his 1st organized race I will miss. School is out early to allow a HVAC company to work on the AC unit that stopped working this week.

No trains yesterday, felt good!

Be well and enjoy the day

Good Morning All. Cloudy and 71°, quite muggy out there this morning. Should hit 88° later today after the sun breaks through. Warming up until next Tuesday when an extended cool front hits.

Don't know why, but I slept 8 hours straight through last night...first time in years. So I'm off to a late start today, having gotten up at the late hour of 0630. No bathroom break to interrupt either!

I survived the weekly grocery trek yesterday, but not without a rocky start. About 15 miles into the trip, I realized that I left my money and credit cards on the desk back home. Since my wife had chosen to stay home, I had to turn around and go back and retrieve them. Automatically put me 45 minutes late! At least I hadn't gotten to the store yet! Otherwise, things went smoothly. Only one item on the list was out of stock, her brand of cottage cheese. Not important! Gas about town was still holding steady at $3.39/gal; still a $1 higher than February.

Since I was already behind for the day, I skipped mowing and a few other household chores and checked out the garden instead. Not doing as well as I would like, but everything is growing with no varmint/insect damage.
Today I have to catch up with the mowing before the yard gets out of hand.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I made some more progress on the neighborhood. Installed the homeowner's fence on the other side of the church, to keep the cars off their property.

Advanced the ground cover along the RH side a bit more.

I'm mulling over that garage a bit.

It came from Chet's collection and I had to do some surgery on the base before using it.

It has some nicely painted detail inside.

What I am contemplating is whether to paint it white to match the house, or leave it as is. See picture #3. I do need to touch up the "cut" surface on the base, which I haven't gotten to yet.
Last picture is what happens when you rub a sweaty elbow on an already painted surface of acrylic paint, while working on something further in the layout.

Kusojiji - Good luck getting the film developed. There's only one place left near me that does in-house developing. Walmart, CVS and Walgreen's will send it off to a lab to have it done with a 3-4 week turnaround.
Alan - Never had a MRC power pack fail on me in over 30 years of model railroading.
Tom O -
American medicine! A disaster looking for a fix that Washington doesn’t want to do…
I'm sorry but I disagree, but have you ever known Washington to fix anything.
Personally, I schedule my primary care doctor visits for their first scheduling spot in the morning. No wait. And sometimes it's me that causes him to back up on later patients. He always spends as much time as needed with his patients; one morning spending almost 45 minutes with me. My cardiologist and dermatologist on the other hand, will spend 12 minutes max and rush out to see their next patient.

Today is National Arbor Day. Go plant a tree.
Everyone have a great Friday.

I'm much more impressed by the "No bathroom break to interrupt" than by 8 hours straight! 🤣 My average is 7 hours total, but I'm usually up 2-3 times through the night.

Not sure what happened to the MRC pack. The fixed DC works, but the rheostat seems to be dead. Like I said, it didn't owe me any money. I've had it since around '92, so I don't feel I can complain.

I used to have a group I raced with, but that hobby shop closed recently. 1/32 scale prototypical models. I have a nice little collection of cars and enough track for a nice home layout. Slot cars made one mistake model trains didn't: no cross compatibility between digital control systems. For that reason, I just race DC cars. I'll bet he has a blast! It's a fun hobby.

You do know Culver’s has seats inside you can sit at?
