Good morning gang!

53° and overcast, looking for a daytime high of 63°.

Last night we had some thunderstorms roll through at bed time. It was hard to go to sleep with a Border Collie shaking like a leaf buried under the blanket between the wife and I. It is almost laughable when you see the cat and the little dog sleeping wherever they want while the storm rages outside. Big dog, big chicken! My old Doberman was the same way, except he would hide under son #4's covers.

Good morning all!

Another beautiful sunny Florida day. Currently 69F, Looks like another day of rain back home.

Today we are going to Panama City. We have wanted to go there and check it out the last few times we were here and have never made it.

Not sure what else we will do today.

IT'S ALIVE - - - - IT'S ALIVE ! ! ! !

Yesterday I got the bus wires run for the new industrial park block. And I dropped the first pair of feeders. And ran a locomotive onto the new track with zero problems! We had our granddaughter over, and I was able to work during her naps. With a brief one for myself of course. Now I have five more pairs of feeders to install. May seem ho-hum to you, but this has been years coming so I'm feeling pretty chuff.

Next will be the project to install all the Caboose power selecting hand-throws. Maybe frog-juicers might be easier, if much more expensive. That project will probably be interspersed with building some structure kits.

It has been a nice diversion from my Holy Week obligations which really kick in today with Maundy service at 7pm complete with me chanting Psalm 22 while the altar and chancel are stripped.

The SPC has upgraded the entire state of Illinois to a Level 2 threat risk for severe thunderstorms. This is only a slight risk.

TLI burn is scheduled for 'around' 2000 EDT today. I can't find an absolute time, but these events are timed precisely to the second. Yesterday for instance, there was a recalculation of a burn that rotated the spacecraft. The time was adjusted 2 seconds.
 
Good Morning All. Cloudy and 63°. Looks like the NWS was right for once, as there is evidence of rain overnight. Porch is wet and there's 1.4" in the rain gauge. I totally missed it, even though I sleep just a couple of feet from an open window. The offshoot of hearing aids being in their storage container overnight! My open window is on the NE side and I noticed when I got up that my wife had closed the one on the NW wall.

Made the trip to Gainesville TX yesterday morning to visit the not so local feed store and bought Tomato plants. Unfortunately I did not have the time to plant them yesterday, but with the ground as dry as it is here, I should be able to plant them tomorrow or Saturday before the next predicted rain on Sunday.
Today we make the weekly grocery trek, and we're meeting my daughter to get the granddog again. Both my daughters and their families are headed to Austin for the weekend, to visit my grandson in college there. I'll be shopping for dessert for 36 folks at my family's Easter gathering this Sunday.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I plodded along with my current project. Added the re-painted (slightly) figures to the General Store base along with some pipe leaned against the building.

I have also made the decision to rotate it and have the access road come from the backdrop instead of parallel to the RR tracks. This will make a better use of space.

Wow! 95 posts since the new Coffee Shop opened yesterday. I may have to skim over some while reviewing them this morning.
Joe - How would you like to model that trackage at that St. Nicholas Breaker?
Troy - I didn't use anything to mask that seam. Because it's on the lower deck and only visible if you stand at least a foot back from the layout, it is actually 4' from my eyes; since if I stand any closer I can't see anything but the upper level fascia. At layout level, it's actually just 32" back, and while a bit hard to reach, I was easily able to contort myself in to reach.

Today could have been Marvin Gaye's 87th birthday, had it not been for a tragic family incident. He started his musical career as a session drummer at Motown Records.

Morning folks rainy mid 30s with a high of mid 40s today in S NH. Hope to make it down to the workshop today and finish priming the pieces for the interior of building #1 of the diorama. If I remember to take pictures I'll start a build thread.

Good morning folks, working on finishing the first pot of coffee for the day. 70F here and cloudy AND windy. Rain possible the next 4-5 days, which I guess means they don't have a clue either. Trying to finish off some more mechs today as the Missus begins the deep cleaning for company coming. I stay out of the way until she says she needs me to do something to help, as I don't do most things to her satisfaction.
 
My 2nd day of walking Murphy with 2 leashes. One for the staff member and one leash for myself. We both walked the dog and after about 10 minutes the staff member took off his leash, and then by myself I walked the dog for about10 minutes. Tomorrow, I walk the dog the whole time and if everything goes well, I bring the dog home. They do this for dogs who have had checkered pasted. You know the dog not liking the girl's new boyfriend. What else is new. Strained relationships. We've all been through it at one time or another. Swal

Border Collie mix. You're going to have a smart dog.
 
Sunday. t was in the 70s, sunny, and we roamed around the Utah Capitol trying to take some pics with the cherry blossoms (we were a week too late as they bloomed early). Yesterday it had gotten colder and rained a lot in the morning, and again over night and into this morning. Now all of a sudden I look out the window.

Picture doesn't pic it up but it is blowing sideways snow quite hard.

Not supposed to get meaningful accumulation but this is March weather, and March was April and May weather... Supposed to be sunny or partly sunny th next few days and then a multi-day cycle of rain. "April showers". We need it so I am not complaining.

Usually if my dog or pet doesnt like the girlfriend thats a sign i shouldnt like said girlfriend.
 
We definitely need it all throughout the west. Snowpack here less than 25% of normal--lowest in more than a hundred years.
That said, I don't believe much of any of it is man made. As it happens I was told some insider stuff about our gov't and scientific efforts in that area, the gist of which was "they knew they were blowing smoke about a lot of it from the get-go and changed the narrative when the first one stopped working." Global Warming became Climate Change almost overnight, and it was very deeply political...and less scientific on the inside.

That said, yeah, the climate is changing, and winters aren't anything like they used to be when I was a kid. But that's Earth. It's been only ten thousand years or so since a lot of the northern states were buried under deep ice, and that change to now has really been quite fast.

And "mammoth methane" had nothing to do with it. :rolleyes:

Probably some course correction, or they might need to turn the ship to align the solar panels. TLI is still to come.

EDITED: I believe it is the apogee or perigee rise burn to increase and stabilize the orbit before TLI.

Ah, that could be...or was, as I imagine now it's all over anyway. Bad head cold I finally realized, which was only part of why it's hard to sleep or even keep track of things today. Meh!
