Well, the project was a complete success. The problem child engine does not derail at all. Another one of my GEVOs does now, but at a scale speed of about 80 mph. (At a switch, a Peco curved switch where the through path has a 36” radius, the branch 18”)
My previous limit was about 35-40 mph.
Prototypical track speed in the region I’ve modeled (C&O mainline & a branch line, on the New River in West Virginia) would likely be 35 mph tops, less in some areas.
So, I’m good to go.
